Politics / Re: Twitter Ban: The Position Of House Of Representatives - Femi Gbajabiamila by valcorp: 7:01am On Jun 09, 2021
I rarely comment on political issues but when someone chooses to sound like an idiot with so much confidence, it is important to let them see the obscurity in their so called truth.

Twitter NEVER denied knowing Nigeria, infact jack invented an emoji for the end Sara protest. Same Twitter removed Donald Trumps hate and inciteful post Against "Asians". Now a president posts a cryptic message on genocide and Twitter removed it. We have a minister of information and an AGF and the best approach would have been to write and demand an explanation but boom simply because the removed a post, your president said BAN twitter and y'all assocation of senseless Nigerian youths couldn't think beyond your elbow think it's the best approach.

Now let me give u the bigger picture, when people have no access to information, it gives the political elite room to do as they wish. Like someone said, when this bomb explodes the international community will only make money feeding on the effect the idiocy, greed and arrogance of a section of this country holding on to power. Then again these people can't think for themselves. You say you speak the bitter truth so tell me whats your take on the current state of the Nigerian economy and all its sectors. Mention one sector that seems to be working and if you talk about agriculture, I need to remind you that the 70% of the current fertilizers being distributed to farmers are a product of Ya'adua and Jonathan. I am not pro-jonathan or PDP before you start crying like a milk deprived child, bringing ethnicity and Religion as a shield to guard your lack of in-depth analysis, I am only saying ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I have been fortunate to have visited 14 of the 19 northern states and I tell you that something worse than Banditry and Terrorism is coming to the north in 10 years.

The children of the poor the abandoned in the streets will soon come hunting for them. You sell barbecue and make say 5,000 per day, equate that and it means u only make 50dollar per day yet you say you speak the truth ... Shush my brother, JUNE 12 "wekeepiton"

And if you were the one on the receiving end I'm sure you would have cried to the moon and back. Truth is no offence meant but your family should be avoided by all means if any man wants to progress. When he had a job you all liked him, suddenly he is a broke guy simply cos another one is around. Na so dem go use Una do blood money laslas. Kudos to your sister for standing her ground, she already knows her family is made up of Hungry vampires. If your family help her man get a job, Una go die. ?

orohbiro:
Good day my fellow nairalanders, my sister and this guy has been dating for 4 years now he use to work in a company but lost his job 2yrs ago since then he had been a parasite to my sister coming to our house to eat our food two times a day.

There is this new guy who asked my sister out. He is gentle and he has a good job, he is a Christian he has his own house, we all like him. I have been begging my sister to give him a try because he is ready for marriage unlike the other guy who has no hope of taking good care of my sister rather sucking my sister dry.

My sister seems to love the broke guy more but that guy is not a serious person for 2 good years he can't look for a job not even a menial job. If my sister mistakenly marries the broke guy she will suffer in the marriage because all the responsibility will be on her head. Gidforbid!

Please how do I convince my sister to focus on this other guy that is comfortable? I want the best for my sister.

Travel / Re: Weird Things Nigerians Do In UK And America To Avoid Deportation by valcorp: 7:36am On Apr 06, 2021
This is a way of knowing a "privileged" Nigerian who knows outside the nepotism and shambolic state of Nigeria, he can't progress. 1. ITS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE A DOCTORATE AND SPEND TWO YEARS DOING SECURITY JOBS, TEACHING AND LECTURING JOBS ARE AVAILABLE. 2. Starting small to ensure he pays his bills without feeling entitled is not a crime because he is looking beyond this day. 3. How much do you think the salary of a lecturer in Nigeria is( let's not consider the part that they are either owed or paid percentages). Now if he works as a "maiguard" @ 8.72 pounds per hour 40 per week that leaves him with 348pounds per week. Tax deductions will take 40 quid, leaving with 308x4=1,232. Rent and all including feeding takes 800 from him and he will be left with 432 multiplied by 660= 285,160. Which is more than his salary. I'm trying to imagine how he will save such in Nigeria if he isn't involved in a shady business. Truth is what works for you cannot work for someone else. Laslas Buhari will still leave as a president, people will den be made to understand that no one has monopoly of stupidity, nepotism and madness.

mu2sa2:
You have said the truth and nothing but the truth. Someone told me that on his first ever trip outside Nigeria, he saw a security guard in front of a shop in London. On a closer look he discovered that the man was a lecturer at one of Nigeria's top universities before relocating to UK for "greener pastures", only to end up as maiguard. Chai, God forbid!

Family / Re: How Do I Stop My Relatives From Disturbing Me? by valcorp: 1:51pm On Apr 04, 2021
You need to learn how to say NO and stand by it. What if you relocate to the village and she eventually dies, you'll be jobless and motherless. Your mother is meant to die, the best u can do is bring her to stay with u in the city where u can have access to her daily. As for relatives, BLOCK THEIR LINES. truth is strangers sometimes wish u better than your relatives, for your relatives to think like this means your progress is a threat to them. I know someone who spent his life helping brothers and sisters, he is 47, unmarried, zero investment but has been working for 20 years. His siblings on the other hand are all married but still run to him at the end of every month. Whenever you get your salary, "PAY YOURSELF 50% FIRST" WHICH GOES INTO SAVINGS, (if you believe in tithe cos I don't, you can pay the 10%), take 20% extra for your expenditure and capture all family members in the last 20%. Who no like should go and hustle for themselves cos in the end if you poor the same relatives go laugh you.

Travel / Re: Intending UK Social Workers Get In! by valcorp: 6:32pm On Mar 21, 2021
For the record I don't think there's any university in Nigeria offering Social Work as a course. Social Work is highly demanding and also rewarding profession where you have to put service users first before yourself. You will have to do alot of liaison with other health professionals, council, agencies and all to ensure the service user gets what you feel will help them live a better and more independent life. If you aren't ready for loads of paper work, having to establish personal contacts with service users, be objective in ur reports( without of course having to get emotionally attached which will be dangerous for your career) then I suggest u don't study social works.

Focusmind:

You are correct. But migrating as a social worker to UK from Nigeria may prove extremely difficult. It is not in a shortage occupation and getting a sponsor will be near impossible as there are lot of qualified residents.

I will lend my 2kobo and ask u to think it through. I worked with a federal agency where I got at least 400-450k monthly ( for protection of information I won't mention names), owned my own 3bedroom flat, a 2012 Camry but still left it all behind to relocate. Currently I save the same amount I was earning in Nigeria( after paying all bills including rent, tax and feeding) and I will advice anyone Against relocating back to Nigeria till after 2023. Nothing seems to be working currently. Many wish they were in ur shoes

Hellopeopleyes:
Hi everyone. I currently live outside Nigeria but considering moving back to settle down. I have a remote job that pays equivalent of 700k naira per month. The major things I need advices on are:

1) Safest place to live in, and an idea of rent cost for a two bedroom there. I am single btw.
2) Side hustle/business to start to diversify my income

Thank you all in advance.

We wey dey d Naija know say e no easy but with 1m, you are better than alot of people. Have u thought of changing state? Move to a cheaper state, buy a Naija used car and start a cab business. It will require alot of time and patience

Terrible experience, I once picked up a pregnant woman from gwagwalada to area 1 out of pity because she was holding two children Nd there was crowd. Funny enough I always have biscuits in my car. Gave these children, dropped them, gave the woman 1k only to discover she stole my second phone. Called Nd called and had to trace the phone. Caught her Nd only collected my phone ( she had done factory reset Nd thrown away the sim). Since that day, even if na dying person, God knows I won't even stop.

Ogeneigbo1:
It's because of people like you that made me resolve not to carry passengers.

I go to work everyday in a 7 passenger car,but I can't can't pick passenger for fear of the unknown.

1. I have laptops and other computer gadgets that can easily be stollen or damaged by passenger who will not even feel remorse when that happens rather they will remind you that you did not carry them free

2. I fear passengers like you breaking my door handle or spoiling my car but will say after all I paid you..the ride was not free.

It pains my heart that I pass alot of good passengers at various junction but I can't carry them because of bad passengers like you.

Each time I pass any junction or bus stop ,I only look to see if I will see faces I know , when I see such people I gladly help them free of charge..at least it's better than one bad passengers reminding me how I am not a taxi driver but still collecting same amount..

Bros.... you have to change this your mentality ,it's not gonna do you any good.
Last Last ...you buy your own car and carry passengers for less amount or you do charity.

The question is how does this translate into salvation? 2. How does it alleviate the sufferings of the sheepish followers who can't see beyond their noses that their "Papa's" project has more to do with their pockets than their souls? 3. When will Christians stop being foolish and realise that Not paying tithe and all these humongous collections doesn't mean u will miss heaven. 4. When will they realise that they carry their own grace and by the virtue of the death and resurrection of Christ they can do exploits without having to wait for one MOG?...

Covid19 has further shown the greed and emptiness among the so called MEN OF GOLD. They only see covid as a threat to their source of income and as long as your money keeps coming, COVID 19 IS A SCAM. A man who sits on the pulpit far from you tells u not to believe science and facts and you shout "YES PAPA", it will end in premium tears for u

LagosismyHome:

A friend on Facebook leads a Christ Embassy church here in the UK, and posted the church Christmas party held in Dec 2020 when we were even told no household mixing

The hall was packed full, no social distancing whatsoever, no face mask, no precautions no nothing, people hugging and pic up and down.... wasnt that against the rules in December.......but hey it's always selective reading when it comes to the bible. Some parts when it comes to money are magnified and self interpreted while others part are ignored.

The bible states that the laws of the land should be obeyed and followed. Romans 13:1-2 says: Obey the government.......

I do not know who needs to hear this BUT TITHE AND OFFERINGS DO NOT GUARANTEE YOU HEAVEN. YES THERE ARE GOOD PASTORS AND THERE ARE SCAMMERS BUT BEING ABROAD AND SOMEONE TELLS YOU TO GIVE THEM 10% OF YOUR EARNINGS BEFORE YOU PAY YOUR BILLS IS NOT ONLY THIEVERY BUT A SCAM!. You can imagine if 20 of you earn 1600 and pay 160 quid each to one man(asides d other perks he gets), he smiles home with 3,200 monthly while u have to struggle through your 1440 only to continue the circle again.... Worshipping In a white Catholic church showed me the difference.

justwise:

Good decision.

2yrs ago a friend stopped going to one Nigerian church i think in London too because of heavy financial demand.

According to him..he pays 10% of his salary as tithe, £30 monthly for kingdom investment. £10 weekly to support God's work or what he calls mission support. Every Dec they have thanksgiving service where members are tasked to pay certain amount. 2yes ago they were asked to pay £1000 each for certain project, a year after that its £500 at least.

Then every Jan you have to give up your salary as first fruit and you still have to sold-seed and appreciate pastor from time to time.

And they shall be followers of the coin not of the word of God, trying to outdo each other with the sound of gold coins in their pockets.... HOW DOES THIS TRANSLATE INTO SALVATION? WHEN WILL PEOPLE REALIZE THAT YOUR BODY IS THE TEMPLE AND AS SUCH SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF WITH GOOD FOOD AND SOUND HEALTHY ROUTINE? WHEN WILL WE UNDERSTAND THAT NOT PAYING TITHE DOESNT MEAN YOU WILL GO TO HELL? WHEN WILL THEY OPEN THEIR EYES TO SEE THAT SALVATION IS WHAT CHRISTIANITY IS ALL ABOUT NOT WEALTH, NOR COLLECTIONS, WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THIS PROJECT TO THE SOULS OF YOUR FLOCK OR IS IT ABOUT" I OWN THE LARGEST WORSHIP CENTRE IN AFRICA"

Travel / Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by valcorp: 7:21pm On Dec 23, 2020
I read alot on people's concept of equivalence and truth is,ITS NOT THE SAME. I left a 450k monthly job to come down to the UK. Any regrets, maybe sometimes but truth is if u look at the Naira and it's purchasing power within its own country, you are still not so comfortable. Yes I had to start from Ground Zero with high hopes,(700 quid takes care of rent, tax and bills) and there's room for saving more than half of that after all my expenses. Now can a person earning 500k comfortably save 300k in Nigeria with family to take care of. What works for Ada doesn't and must not work for Obi. If you think with 500k in Nigeria you're living large toh good for you(and as rightly mentioned only 5-10 percent of Nigerians earn that monthly LEGALLY). A more balanced approach will be equating 500k Naira earner with the 5-10 percentiles earners here in the UK and thats when u will do proper justice to your comparism
Poch:
See the reason why you are more interested in wining an argument than actually having a conversation?

When on earth did I mention that a 500k earner hit a jackpot by earning £15k in the UK?

My brother/sister, bless you o...
But try calm down, if you must respond, read slowly and try understand what a post is saying.

I feel you just more interested in arguing a point.

And this is me not really arguing with you but identifying gaps in your rendition of my penned-down thoughts... Isn't it funny?
