nothing is amiss sir. It's cheap because my team decided not to make profit from it. If we add N2,000 as profit shey you will appreciate it better?
I'm not against its cheapness bro. With that same price hope you know some people till can't afford it? I've been a good follower of your thread right from p1000>>>p1300>>>m500. I only want to know the cons with respect to the price, cos i believe the phone can't have it all, that's why i deliberately quoted somebody that has it. Battery strength, display brightness, camera quality among others. If i know its weakness then i will know whether it's something i can cope with.

Hello my fellow Nairalanders. I‘m certain we all have come to know about the Doogee Voyager 2 smartphone otherwise known as DOOGEE DG310. The phone is really a nice phone with great specification & would definitely give you a run for your money. Can you believe that a 5-inch phones, same size & better specs than the Tecno m7 is actually selling at NGN12,700 this very moment? So if you own one kindly give a review. It‘ll be highly appreciated. And, just in case you need a phone or tablet at a very cheap price. Let me know. I‘ll direct you to the right source. Thanks.
The phone is incredibly cheap. How is the performance? I think something should be amiss to account for the cheapness.

-16 is the right answer. Multiply both side by -2 and you have -6x + 4y=-16 or rearranging you have 4y -6x=-16.
Oook. I didn't reason it that way
EducationRe: Solve These CHEVRON Interview Questions by Valentinooo: 5:04pm On Oct 09, 2014
Guys look at this question from one of the aptitude tests too.

If 3x-2y=8, then 4y - 6x is
(a) -16
(b) -8
(c) 8
(d) 16
(e) cannot be determined

In the solution they got -16. I understood how they got it but do you guys think it's the right way to solve it?
If i'm to choose, i will go with (e)

Acknowledged already.
OK. I quoted directly from my mentions so i didn't see that on time
EducationRe: Solve These CHEVRON Interview Questions by Valentinooo: 7:41am On Oct 07, 2014
Kentnickole:
Given: 8a = 9b and a/9 to b/9
thus a = 9b/8; so substitute 9b/8 into a/9, you hv [9b/8]/(9) = 9b/8 x 1/9 = b/8 ...

Also, b = 8a/9; so substitute 8a/9 into b/9,
You hv [8a/9]/<8> = 8a/9 x 1/8 = a/9
...

Place back in the ratio line, you hv:

a/9 to b/8.
Bro the bolded is wrong, the 8 in angular bracket is suppose to be 9. Which will give you 8a/81.

EducationRe: Solve These CHEVRON Interview Questions by Valentinooo: 7:34pm On Oct 06, 2014
belovedsamex:
okk i think i have discovered where the ERROR lies.
@Kentiknoki, d place u divided by 5 should not be by 5 but by 6. and when you do that you arrive at 20% markup margin as posted by my protesting friend @ eckersley .
pls check through ur solution again @kent....d place u said "this is d price charged for 5kg" it is not supposed to be 5kg but 6kg. got it? ok!
Then why claiming he's right when you don't even know the answer?
EducationRe: Solve These CHEVRON Interview Questions by Valentinooo: 7:26pm On Oct 06, 2014
Kentnickole:
It was given. Check the OP's question...
No o. The question said find the ratio of a/9 to b/9. But you decided to use a/9 to b/8
EducationRe: Solve These CHEVRON Interview Questions by Valentinooo:
eckersley:
I DISAGREE. GO BACK AND READ HIS POST. Kindly look at my post and see my working. IF 5KG OF Rice is for N20, the SP for a unit[1kg] will be N20 divided by the 5kg. Abi Maths headquaters for the moon don change aaam. why divide by the $5 AND NOT THE NUMBER OF ITEMS?
Let's assume he bought it at $x per kg, then 6kg = $6x,

20% profit means (120/100) * $6x = $7.2x this is d price he must sell the whole 6kg in order to make 20% profit ($7.2x)

Then you now divide with the price he sold them. $5 per kg which is

$7.2x/$5 = 1.44x showing 0.44 increment when compared to the initial price x per kg.

The question is very trickish though. Let him come n shed more light into it.

**Modified**
No o shocked It can't work that way. Ken pls come n explain.
EducationRe: Solve These CHEVRON Interview Questions by Valentinooo: 6:34pm On Oct 06, 2014
Kentnickole:
Ok here is d working:

Let x be the cost price; cost price of 6kg = 6X
With 20% of profit margin, SP = 6X x 1.2
This is the price charged for 5kg
SP of 1kg = (6X x 1.2)/5 = 1.44X ie 144% increase, hence 144%-100% = 44%

My rough working though.

No 2:

Given 8a = 9b and ab = 0;
The ratio of these numbers is [a/9]/[b/8] ; substituting in the ratio frm the question, u hv a = 9b/8; the ratio then is [9b/72]/[b/8]; dividing both sides by b and multiplyn both sides by 8, you finally hv 72/72 = 1

Hence:
1.) C
2.) C

Regards
pls how did you come about the bold?
EducationRe: Solve These CHEVRON Interview Questions by Valentinooo: 6:17pm On Oct 06, 2014
eckersley:
I want to disagree with the OP concerning the purportedly right answer. In Kentnickole's answer when he was trying to find the unit cost, i.e 1kg, he divided by 5kg saying that's the price charged for 5kg. The question never mentioned 5kg, but 6kg. And we should take into cognizance the difference btw markup and profit margin. I STRONGLY stand by my answer being RIGHT except anyone or the OP can prove otherwise
He divided by $5 not 5kg

@belovedsamex, the 1.2 is gotten from the 20% profit.

Add 20%profit to the initial value then you get 120% of that value. Which is 120/100 = 1.2
