I was with the cousin of the victim yesterday here in awka Anambra State when he got a call from a relative about the sad news. This man almost broke down completely, he has watched the video of the incident on Facebook without knowing it was his cousin that got killed.
It is just too unfortunate, very very unfortunate.

The amount of tribalism on nairaland is just too perplexing. We tend to forget that we all belong to the same human race first before belonging to any tribe or religion. Segregation won't help nobody!

For those asking for what really happened, I will oblige u guys.

On that night, the SUG president Comrade Egwebuike Ikenna happen to be in school after the school gate(ifite gate) has been locked by the school "gatesmen"(those guys on white uniform that give card on entering the school with a car). He requested that the gate be opened so that he may get off camp which the gatesmen declined even after he introduced himself as the Presido.

The president now placed a call to the CSO but before he(CSO) could instruct the gatesmen on what to do, the patrol team(anti cult) came to the gate.
I can't really say what transpired btw them, but the anticult guys slapped the president and took his phone.

Somehow, someone called one of the excos who contacted others and within a short time, a mob has already gathered outside the gate demanding that the gate be opened.

The gatesmen fled the gate as the mob increased, the anticult guys has already left be4 the mob gathered. The guys outside managed to break the chain used in locking the gate and now rushed in but then, they found the president alone.

The mob decided to go to the security department but they met the patrol team on their way. The president identified the unlucky guy who slapped him and u guys know what happened to him next.

That's it. I still blame the president though.
