A Zambian man has turned himself in after killing his wife's secret lover, pictured above, whom he found on their matrimonial bed yesterday September 26th. According to Zambian local media, the man returned home unexpectedly to Solwezi in the middle of the night from Lumwana where he works and found the man in his matrimonial bed with his wife fast asleep in his bedroom. He took some pictures and afterward went into their kitchen and picked up a pounding stick, returned to the bedroom and struck the man on the head. The secret lover died as his head was broken and his brain spilled out. The angry husband then picked up the body of the deceased, put it in his car and drove to the police station where he handed himself over! The body of the deceased is lying in solwezi general hospital mortuary.

Blessing Emah is an undergraduate of the University of Uyo, who sells ekpangnkukwo, a local delicacy in Akwa Ibom State.

She took up the business when her parents died leaving her to cater of her younger siblings.

According to Facebook user,Harrison Essien, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel recently donated the sum of N1 million to help further empower her business. Read his post below:

"While many young Nigerian graduates are roaming the streets in search of white collar jobs, she used her cooking skills learnt from her mother to prepare ekpangnkukwo, Akwa Ibom's most sought after delicacy.
Unfortunately, she lost her parents at a very tender age and as an orphan, life was extremely difficult for her, as she was unable to further her education to the university level and take care of her younger siblings.

Expectedly, her friends mocked her, calling her a school drop-out, but like an eagle, she remained focus in order to achieve her target.

Instead of forming a slay Queen on the social media or jumping from one man to another for survival, she borrowed N20,000 and startup the ekpangnkukwo business.

At a time that many young girls sleep in the comfort of their homes doing make-up or visiting prayer houses for miracles, she explored every available opportunity in the State just to showcase her cooking talents and market her products.

Today, because she is consistent and outstanding in her business, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel has appreciated her efforts and donated N1m as a financial empowerment to her.

The Cross River State Police Command has arrested one Peter Bishung for allegedly defrauding over 30 people of more than N6million.

It was gathered that Mr. Bishung, who posed as a medical doctor had been hanging around the Ministry of Health headquarters premises at the Michael Ani secretariat in Calabar where he may have gotten wind of information to swindle unsuspecting contractors of cash.

He is said to have allegedly posed as a middle man for contracts especially for the 1.5 million dollars world bank health grant to revitalize the Primary Health care system in the state.

Mr. Bishung is suspected to have defrauded about 32 people of over N6 million promising them that they will get contracts. He is said to have collected a minimum of NGN200,000 from each company profile collected.

He was often found around the reception of the office of the Director of Medical Services in the ministry, Dr. Kenneth Takim, who had asked him to produce relevant papers to prove he was a medical practitioner which he failed to do.

He claimed to be “working with department of medical services in the second floor of the Cross River State Ministry of Health, Calabar,” a source in the ministry told CrossRiverWatch.

He was lodging at federal heads of parastatals guest house located at road 6, federal housing estate from where he carried out his alleged dubious acts.

“He is on the run because he could not offset the bills he incurred there amounting to almost NGN200,000,” the source added.
The Police is said to have recovered the profiles of 32 companies in the same room.

And, Police sources say the matter has been moved from the Zone Six Police Command in Calabar and is now domiciled at the Federal Housing Division.

An Igbosere magistrate's court sitting in Lagos has remanded the Managing Director of Legal Crest Nigeria Limited, Lagos Island, in Ikoyi prison for allegedly pirating the Nigerian weekly law reports.

Chidi Ofoekwe, 37, was arrested on the order of the DPO in charge of Lion Building Division, CSP Folashade Tanaruno following a complaint by the management of Nigerian Law Publishing Limited. He was accused of printing and selling copies of the comprehensive index to Nigerian Weekly Law Report, 2015 volume one and two without the approval of the copyright owners.

Ofoekwe recently appeared before an Igbosere Magistrate Court on a three-count charge of felony to wit. printing copies of the Nigerian Weekly Law Reports , 2015 without the approval of the owners.

Police counsel, Friday Mammeh told the Court that the accused committed the alleged offence between 2016 and 2017 on Lagos Island, Lagos.

He said the accused unlawfully printed and displayed for sale copies of the comprehensive weekly law reports 2015 volume 1 and 2 without the counsel of the management of the Nigerian law publishing limited.

According to him, the accused met his Waterloo when he sold copies of the volume one and two to the management of Pinheiro L P Chambers and Integrity Solicitors who exposed him.

Mammeh said that the offences committed were punishable under section 411 of the criminal law of Lagos State, 2015 and 20 (1) (c) and 21 (2) of the copyright act cap C28 laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 2009 as applicable in Lagos State.

The plea of the accused was rejected by Magistrate, P. A. Adekomaiya who adjourned the case till 16 October 2017, pending an advice from the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution, DPP.

The police in Bayelsa State nabbed suspected members of cult groups, who invaded Peremabiri Divisional Headquarters to release one of their members, Prince Ayibalaifa, who was detained for indecent assault.

The suspects reportedly injured a policeman, Corporal Elijah Osara, during the attack in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.

Commissioner of Police Mr. Asuquo Amba named the suspects as Douye Koufe, 23; Wisdom Reuben, 23; Solomon Jackson, 18; Samuel Odozi, 20; Thomas Canan, 23; Andy Daves, 24; and Junior Japhter, 23.

He said they admitted to being members of the Greenlanders’ cult, except Douye Koufe, who claimed to belong to Icelanders. Amba said investigation was on, adding that the suspects will be prosecuted.

He lamented the attack and said the police, with the assistance of the government was able to bring back civil authority in the area. Amba said: ’’They actually rescued Prince Ayibalaifa and escaped, but they were re-arrested.’’
