Import substitution was tried all over Africa in 1960s - the same period Kwame was on it - they are all failed. South Asian tigers refused to heed such advice and went for export led manufacturing - and they succeeded.

Kwame communism led to Ghana economic collapse and his subsequent overthrow. The rest are just attempt to rewrite history. Kwame was an epic failure in managing Ghana economy.

Indeed, Ghana experienced reasonably high growth soon thereafter, but by 1965 per capita growth was already negative, and when the coup d’état overthrew the Nkrumah regime in February 1966, per capita income was below its value at the time of independence
I have been reading much of your nonsense on inkrumah, but I am less interested to reply, but it seems this is too myopic to just ignore.see patently amaturish write-up like this, I refuse to respond to them but this one is so shallow, I could not help myself.

You are entitled to your flaws ,but you cannot corrupt history with bogus interpretation of historical facts.inkrumah was overthrown by CIA terrorist clique. This allies of racist colonizers and imperialists hate political and economic freedom of Ghanaians as it was getting stronger by then. Ghana was already moving with the big boys (non aligned nations) india indonisia and the rest . by then kenya and almost africa nations are just a British political stooge. All nations developed all necessary model at their feet for economic independence and build wealth out of their endowed natural and human resources not necessarily western philosophy. Singapore is a success case and likewise present day united arab emirates .

The Education and healthcare policies under inkrumah then were far ahead of the UN mandated Mellenium Goals to make Ghana a leader in Africa. Inkrumah was so important that he was even appointed a co-president of Guinea. You ignorant, Ghana systems by then was already forcing mali, Guinea and far away congo to form a confederation country with Ghana. The critics of Nkrumah are MORONS and mentally retarded. The fact that inkrumah's history and achievements are still stellar today makes a good case;he is vindicated.

Precisely. There is the tendency to deny all the good the coloniliasm brought and only talk about the evil. This is why African never learnt anything. We should have learnt the good and great things European brought - as we did away with the evil. Countries that look at this soberly even invited some European to stay around with their expertise's. Even now countries should not shy away to ask for technical assistance from advanced countries - be they Chinese or Whites.
Nothing has really benefit africa as human from the west( because we already have what you may term as the benefit), I said nothing. Maybe trading with us would have been the benefit but they sabotage it with their religious dogma and slavery. What you have is simply On the contrary. You have a very naive understanding, probably from watching too many Hollywood films and reading too many western sponsored literature.

Technically it is they have better infrastructure, healthcare and education then Nigeria but at the same time in terms of food supply it isn't as good as in Nigerai but then Nigeria has this whole violence problem so it's difficult to come to a conclusion
in a nutshell, Cuba is doing way better than Nigeria and so many africa countries. Ghana and kenya inclusive.

The healthcare sector alone spells it out, anyway that is not the only sector we should focused.

it is even a relief now , Ghana is relying heavily on the local gas ( the atuabo gas ) and another gas line is under construction. since nigeria gas line has proven not reliable

The Northerners are suffering from floods sake of the absence of such Dam
The Npp might really build it cus they really want to cross the number "" 8"" and they know northern region is always a problem to that.

the flyover in Tamali will soon be completed as well. i wish they also continue the abandoned work on the airport.

Typical west african bonobo - repairs CAN NEVER BE COMPLETED - it's part of life. By time you're done - it started to breakdown. The Maintenance culture that you lack is your main undoing.
I hate when i am talking to an idiot who speaks from both sides of the mouth, you can't be accepting a valid and invalidating it at the same time. you earlier reject dumsor, fact was thrown at you, you responded back with another fact validating my initial premises. You again look for excuse, the fact was thrown at you further, you end up running syphilis of the mouth.

Installed capacity versus demand - overcapacity charge of 1billion dollars is crazy

Between 2000 and 2019, electricity generation capacity increased at a rate of 6.4% a year from 1,358 megawatts (MW) to 4,695 MW. Supply capacity has nearly doubled since the 2013 power crisis. At the same time, system peak demand grew at a 4.6% annual rate from 1,161 MW to 2,804 MW.
The bone of question is "if dumsor stil exist " and the greater answer to it is no.

how we go about the debt is our headache, face your wheelbarrow empower economy. we solve the major crisis, that is all.

You took loan and aid from them to develop your country. You take their war-machines to fight insurgents in your country. You invite their arm forces to help you fight insurgents. They control your telecommunications. They control your airspace. The platform that gives your citizens the avenue to air their concerns has been banned, claiming it’s a sign of NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY. Apply same sovereignty in all aspects of your rule. No African President should be allowed to take away the rights to freedom of expression. Freedom of speech is a fundamental human right that supports the freedom of an individual.

I keep hearing people saying that things in Ghana are so expensive, compared to Nigeria.

Those Ghanaians seem more interested in maintaining an illusion of 'peacefulness' and 'stability', than in challenging their leaders to do more, as occurs in Nigeria (hence her being more 'volatile').

.
OP. My advice to you is to start a business in Nigeria.

There are millions of Nigerians making great money in business.

Join them.

Find a free, short online course in business management, do it, then decide on a venture.

Start small and grow.

There is market in Nigeria for anything.
Actually it used to be so but i disagree now . Nigeria is now very expensive. from a plastic coke of 170 to 4000 naira cement bag. this is in contrast with the price of Ghana which is from 3.50 ghc to 38 ghc respectively.

when it is comes to demanding better life from the government, i actually don't see Nigeria doing it better than Ghana. from "no more dumsor to the present one ""fix Ghana"" Ghana is just as radical as the people of France or USA .

There is even a public demonstration just this Sunday

Ghana-More than 100% passes through MTN a foreign company. At least Safaricom is majority owned by Kenya gov+Public. Vodafone(through vodacom) only has 40%. Now imagine MTN South Africa is running your finances.

As for M-pesa - remember the money really doesn't reside in Safaricom - it reside in an ESCROW account in local banks.
MTN does less than 55 percent shares of Ghana market , they are still major competitor like airtel-tigo ( which is now 100 percent government owned and Vodafone in the market . hence MTN is not holding Ghana destiny as safaricom does to Kenya. safaricom is the dominanant payment system in your hell-zone . in Ghana, there is a level play ground for business to thrive among major competitor.

The other major telecommunication in your backwater has no option rather than to create synergy to compete with a single company whose major owner are in United kingdom(they own about 40 percent shares).

MTN Ghana has about 30 percent of her share owned by Ghanaian thru public offer.

Peace and stability affect education --YES but it does not play any role in *admission of students* into a school.

No University will decline admitting students from Iran or Syria sake of instability in their country. You are wrong.

Admission is done based on your qualification and not the security situations of your country.
You are so wrong on that.
What is qualification? it goes just beyond educational requirement. medical condition and fitness can even be part of what is consider as qualification generally wellness is important . in some cases , gender can be consider as qualification( the school may favour more female gender than male.. when it comes to courses, some criteria can also be set. .even for economic reason you can be disqualified.

just right now , some country are putting restriction on airplane coming from India due to corona. anything at all .can be set as a standard. peace and stability is a factor here too cus it signify transparency and genuineness of your document.
