LordReed: More like discovering that there are numbers 1 cannot divide without remainder after being told that 1 can divide all numbers without remainder.
You see the contradiction. Numbers don't work that way, even if the language structure is fine linguistically.
Check out this paradoxical statement ."" Name me a number that is greater than infinity"" . That may sound pretty fine linguistically ( cus you may say infinity plus 1) but very bad mathematically and logically becuse numbers doesn't work that way.
Cheers01: Then, there is the philosophical problem of creation. Who created the creator? Where does God come from? Did he create himself or he just always existed? If he always existed, what was he doing with himself all those billions of years it took our galaxy to be formed?
comfortability, purpose of life, social bonding , hope, motivation, mortality etc.....i am yet to find a replacement for this.......
If a belief system doesn't help you understand electricity, gravity, weather, our solar system, medical aid, etc, then it can screw off.
If you want to understand, don’t ask or used work of those who are as confused as you are. Instead, be open to non-traditional and new interpretations and teachings. Just take up a new study. Everything evolved and those not exclude religion.
i]"If God creates an immovable object, is he still omnipotent when he can't move it?" If stupid questions like this crap exist, then it can screw off.
paradoxical question. Those who keep repeating this question are confused themselves. It shows they know less of the nitty - gritty of God talkless of religion. Humble yourself instead and ask questions instead of criticising.
If our civilization's advancements in technology and culture do not require gMuslim od and/or religion, then it can screw off. (yes, many religious people have contributed to science, but was it their religion or their scientific method that made the contribution?)
Thankfully, your input accept religion people had contribute to science development. What motivate science advancement is humanity which religion is part of her characteristics. In it , there is culture, economic wealth etc ......You can still see religion holding on to this till date.
If people are left with arguments that validate religion through its "therapeutic aspects" while disregarding the abuse, depression, oppression, antiquated and inefficient practices that are easily observable throughout history... Then. It. Can. Screw. The. Fùck. Off.
Ignorance is bliss, opening your mind and accepting the truth is better than being ignorant.........
I am yet to see any perfected idea as far as humanity is concern not even science..........
Next time. Let us know where you copy this from. What you did without referencing is called academic dishonesty. I intentionally reply you when i realised it is from reddit.
SKhanmi: Hmmm,Interesting concept but I don't agree with all of it. Let me give this example.
A planet has had six consecutive civilizations that has reached the highest pinnacle of development but at a decreasing rate due to them ending & crashing in worldwide devastating wars of destruction. So the latter civilizations aren't are sophisticated as the former, sometimes with little/no information about the older civilizations. Now the current youngest 7th civilization has been steadily evolving from the lowest stage of development & now rapidly reaching the breakthrough point. Naturally they'll think they are the first. But about 3kyrs ago some few sections of this civilization stumbed upon the ruins, artifacts & information caches of these more older & advanced races. They find out they are in fact primitives compared to others. Do they inform the rest? Game on This is where I disagree with you...they now have the pre-knowledge right...so they start steering & modifying the course of knowledge in their own time...sometimes promoting false concepts in order to shape world views supportive of their own agenda & maintain their monopolistic grip such as seen during the roman Catholic era & knight Templars....flat earth belief..dark ages era..This effect has trickled down the centuries. Remember some know the real truth. Now modern man is rediscovering the truth(alternative).
So we have the problem of deliberately falsified pre-existing truths ON THIS PLANET contradicting the new but original truth that has been kept hidden. That's the story of earth. If 1+1 is 2 in the beginning of time & the whole universe but on earth we've been *taught* 1+1=11 for the past 6000yrs & now discovered that it is not so..you see we'll run into problems with your theory.
Information on this planet is controlled...a free humanity is not wished by some..in fact I'll say it was designed as a prison planet. So info that would bring equality, justice & freedom are restricted & the little that's out there is constantly being corrupted or made to cater to their agendas, the more we stumbled on new truths, the more it is rubbished or invalidated while a few benefit from it. Reasons why I said what we're taught is mostly incorrect. The source has been corrupted.
Our brain is truly a matrix but few get to use it. Those who control the mind & soul get this planet... But.nothing.lasts.forever.
our worldly truth is never absolute. It is just a function of perspective cus our universe is so full of complexities, no matter how much you know about something, you may not know the unknown unknowns that play a role in painting the entire picture of it. This is a fact. Science understand it.
For example, when I was in secondary school, I was taught that there were 9 planets in the solar system. That was my version of truth. And today the same secondary school is teaching that there are 8 planets in the solar system. That’s is today version of the truth which contradict my own version. I therefore need to update myself to catch up. In some UniversIties, the eligibility period is three years. So if a student go on for a break that lasted for three years, it is assumed the student has completely opted out of the program and must be admitted as a fresher for him to begin the program again cus the school will be operating with a new syllabus by then.
So, in a nutshell, you can only discover the perceived, acceptable versions of truth base on time, event and experience . And you can keep adding truths to it, with time, event and your experience as long as you live.
IAmSabrina: I kind of agree with most of what you said. I've come to understand that the statement you made at the bolded is only true for the God of Philosophy I.E a creator god and nothing more. In that sense, you're right.
I don't think we should be critical of that "God" per se. The God of Philosophy was an idea brought about in good faith, and was a good explanation at the time. And the God of Philosophy is vague, and has never really hurt anyone.
Instead, the critics should primarily be against Christianity and religion in general, which is what atheists are against. Talk about the Bible, the Ten Commandments, Jesus, and all the contradictions, miracles, etc. I've seen Muslim and Christian apologists debate atheists, and they hide behind the God of Philosophy (many rehashing arguments word for word that Aristotle came up with), and never debate the specifics of their religion. Many people find the idea of the God of Philosophy reasonable, and it's not the worst idea in the world. The problem is that people buy into that, and then lazily go to their nearest religious institution. People default to whatever the culturally dominant religion is, often without any reflection, and religious apologists exploit this.
By debating the reasonable God of Philosophy, we're playing into their hands. This is why like 90% of the critique has always and should be towards Abrahamic religions. It's much easier to reasonably prove these religions are man made and harmful to society, than to disprove a vague and somewhat reasonable God of Philosophy. And it's harm reduction too. Vague religious beliefs are kind of harmless if not channeled into a religion. Belief in Christianity = Christian religion. Belief in vagueness = new age, deist, spiritual, etc. Mostly harmless.
i actually don't see the difference between God of philosophy and God of religion. No matter how it is been painted. You can use philosophy to help establish your beliefs, the way the religion works, why it works that way, everything. Religion and philosophy are like plant and Photosynthesis. Great philosophers and theologians are so, because of philosophy. Some religions and basically based on philosophical principals, like Buddhism or Taoism, and some philosophers have greatly shaped religons, like Saint Tomas aquinas, or saint Augustine (Christianity)and aviceena (My favourite Islamic philosopher ).
rvp20182: Vax, banks need to cooperate with telecoms or they also need go to telecom. Most Kenyan banks have done the cooperation & sharing costs...Equity went rogue and got telecom license...using sim swap. The reality now 95% of Kenyan banking is thro telecom...branches are going out.
equity had made a giant step. There is going to be serious issue in the future. This is what we must accept. Except for the banks with much more innovative idea.
The largest share of mobile money deposits in Ghana rest with Fidelity Bank; followed by Ecobank and CAL Bank. In Ghana you can even get your dividends paid thru mobile money. And This means that mobile money can become digital banks since there is a lot of vunerability to cash transaction — banks might no longer be custodians of the mobile money accounts if telecom's apply for digital banking licence . The situation will be disruptive to traditional banks.
Jonraid: We are here already and the banks are still posting profits. We still need banks for big money transactions.Banks have become more innovative so as to check on the fintech rise.Mobile money is not really a competitor to traditional banking but rather a facilitator.Mobile banking and traditional banking are intertwined in Kenya!Banks are embracing mobile banking so to speak!
Telecoms might soon begin to apply for digital banking licences . The cash transfer thru this medium is getting bigger everyday. It has overtaken traditional cheques. The future has a lot of promise to telecoms operating this service. Full Digital banking is coming soon. This wiill be a game changer.
Stevoh18: I think Equity bank is trying fairly well with Equity agents and Equitel lines
The current legislative is allowing telecoms to placed their deposit in banks.....but with current trends of the money that passes thru this medium, i foresee telecoms company applying for digital banking license which will be a total game changer to traditional banking . All traditional bank now must sit tight or advance a new strategy.
I also foresee digital money market growing. More smart-phones'll continue to be produced. That's a huge OPPORTUNITY to make cool cash fixing(vocational skills is now getting more important) A service business puts money in Ur pocket. IT skills will be needed more ( the Data must be protected) in fact it is going to be a complete game changer.
Kenya's , what is your veiw when telecommunication company finally take the role of digital banking as we can see now thru the use of mobile money, how will you think traditional bank will cope or tolerate it.
NigeriaIsDoomed: kid! I am done with you in the meantime. You can entertain yourself with toys while waiting for me. You will have my full attention when I am less busy.

lagdmark: I hope it's not gonna be another ghana project like the just completed Flooded Kotoka International Airport terminal 3.
This is ignorant statement. What is wrong In a flooded airport. Malaysia most famous airport got flooded . One of the biggest soccer match event. Manchester against Chelsea. Water was seen scooping out of the field.
Terminal 3 wasn't flooded actually, it was a propaganda. And the part of the airport that was flooded had been reconstructed .
PetroDollax: this story is crap. how come this news has not been reported in Ghana? how and why will Ghana's minister of railways development send a press release to a nigerian news channel and not the Ghanaian press, that holds more relevance for his government?
can anyone produce anything to authenticate the involvemnet of CRCC nigeria in the project in Ghana? CRCC is a chinese company with headquarters in china. To the best of my knowledge, Ghana is dealing with the headquarters of the chinese company in china, not its nigeria affiliate. that is how chinese companies operate. anyone with a verifiable contrary insight can share it.
ignore this sham story. it was planted by vested nigerian interests, as usual.
i actually don't understand their motive about this news.
Ghana is not competing with Nigeria. She is just developing at her own space. And Nigeria should face her own issues.
References: It was reported in an earlier thread how Ghana's 340km proposed MoU rail line had an equivalent funds project as our 156km own from Lagos to IBADAN...
Joe Ghartey, Ghana’s minister of railways development, says he has cancelled the MoU with the China Railway Construction Corporation Corporation (International) Nigeria Limited (CRCC-Nigeria) “for breach of confidentiality”.
Ghana had entered into CRCC- Nigeria for the construction and rehabilitation of a 560-kilometre standard gauge railway line.
However, after a report in TheCable comparing railway contract costs in Ghana with Nigeria’s, the minister came under pressure to do “damage control”.
In a statement sent to TheCable on Monday, Ghartey acknowledged that the ministry signed an MoU with CRCC-Nigeria.
TheCable had reported that CRCC offered to rehabilitate and construct a 560-kilometre standard gauge railway line for Ghana at $2 billion, with terminals at Aflao and Elubo.
“Messrs CRCC-Nigeria expressed interest in supporting the Ministry to develop and modernise Ghana’s railway network, particularly the Trans-ECOWAS line, which runs along the coast between Aflao, on the border with Togo, and Elubo, on the border with Cote d’Ivoire,” the statement read.
“The purpose of the MoU is for CRCC-Nigeria to undertake feasibility studies through the use of independent consultants.
“CRCC-Nigeria is responsible for verifying the project cost as estimated by the feasibility studies and also raise capital to finance the project.”
However, the minister said his ministry was yet to respond to a proposal by CRCC-Nigeria to establish assembly plants for building locomotive coaches and wagons.
The ministry was, however, silent on the 340-kilometre Eastern line project that is estimated to cost $2.2 billion which will link Accra, Tema and Kumasi,
In March, Rotimi Amaechi, Nigeria’s former minister of transportation, had told reporters that the $1.5 billion allocated for the 146-kilometer Lagos-Ibadan project has been altered due to additional construction work on the project but refused to disclose the new sum.
TheCable understands that the new cost is $2 billion — which is exactly the amount CRCC-Nigeria is offering to construct and rehabilitate the 560-kilometre standard gauge railway line in Ghana.
stop lying, from The Ministry of Railways in Ghana.
The ministry has reached a Concession Agreement with the Ghana European Railway Consortium (GERC) for the construction of the Eastern Railway line project at the cost of $2.2 billion dollars.
The 340 kilometre project, which would run from the Tema Port through Accra, Koforidua and end in Kumasi; is a Built, Operate and Transfer (BOT) project, with the Government having a 30 per cent share.
It would take three years to complete the project; upon which GERC would then operate it for 27 years before handing over to the Government.
The project would have a branch line at Bosuso to Kyebi in the Eastern Region to the proposed bauxite mines in the area, and it would also be linked up to the inland port at Boankra in the Ashanti Region.
The negotiations for a new standard gauge Eastern Railway lines was reached, on Thursday, at Peduase in the Akuapem South District of the Eastern Region between Mr Joe Ghartey, Minister of Railways Development and Mr Heinz Kroczek, GERC representative.
GERC is made up of 16 investment companies from Ghana, Germany, Austria, France and Italy.
Some of the companies are the Keteke Group (Ghana), ARISU (Germany), Ralf Bankenbach (Germany), Havellandische Eisenbahn (Germany), Voestalpine (Austria), IPIMED (France) and Salcef (Italy)
Under the project, GERC proposes to build a double line railroad with maintenance roads on each side and it would also have fencing on each side to protect the rail lines.
The system would consist of three major stations in Accra, Koforidua and Kumasi; with additional 30 minor stations ad stopping points along the line.
The entire rail line would be electrified, thus the locomotives and coaches would be electric, the first in the country.
GERC would also build a sleeper factory in the country, which would have the capacity to produce over 1,000 sleepers per day, with the factory employing 550 full time workers.
Mr Ghartey said the outcome of the negotiations would be taken to Cabinet for approval, after which it would be placed before Parliament.
He said in 1898, it took five years for rail to be constructed from Takoradi to Kumasi, however, in today’s era of technology, he was hopeful that the single line would reach Kumasi by the end of 2020.
The Project, is the first of its kind in magnitude, to be executed under BOT in sub-Saharan Africa.
SoNature: I am wondering how Ghana plans to repay $2b.
They must be thinking that Chinese loans are Paris Club loans, so that you can turn around and plead for cancellation tomorrow.
Ghana isn't a poor country. 2 billion dollar is not much for the country. They just recently complete Tema sea port expansion project which cost 1.5 billion dollar . It will be open by the end of this MONTH.
TruthinAction: What about Biblical prophecies that are fulfilled? Does it not add to the authenticity of the Bible? If it does, why not believe other revelations contained in it?
Gee. Who will not be happy if biblical prophesy come true. I mean true that will be clear and accurate and will also demonsrate the sub subsequent event to be true and accurate as well. We will not be having this kind of discussion any longer. We will just be waiting for the time of event.
It is because of the ambiguous prophesy of the bible that still put us at cross road. It seems only Christian actually believe it.
It is logical to accept any further claim that has less ambiguity of the biblical prophesy. If we come across one.
TruthinAction: But Jesus died completely and rose from the dead. He was certified dead before he was buried. If Jesus could rise from the dead, it's possible others can too. Concerning Mary Baxter, God can use anybody. You don't have to be special for God to show you revelations. Just try and get her book and read. Even if I didn't read her book, I believe in hell based on the evidence of the scripture. I actually have an ebook on that. You can place order for it and read.
This is a matter of faith and NOTHING else. What evidence exist that Moses received direct verbally word from God, or Israelites were actually led to the promise land by Aaron. I am not going to say much on this since this is not related to the topic. No human has ever die completely and rose back to life. Maybe there will be breakthru in the future, no one is certain.
From your very saying, Mary baxter was taking to hell physically. And in this case , she will not be demonstrating what she sees thru revelation but physically. That must be a special kind of treatment.
So what are the evidence that suggest all books about hell on the shelves are not fictional for any thinking adult.
