0temAtum: Olodumare is not the God of the Universe. Olodumare is the yoruba god as igbo has their god in Chukwu etc. Yahweh is the god of israel, Allah the god of arabs. But there is the first cause which is the creator of them all. That first cause is what we are all part of. Yahweh+Olodumare+Allah+ Atum+Me+You+...+everything= God Almighty. Another observed problem. olodumare is a Yoruba name for the most supreme. I prefer not to use God because God in English is corrupt grammatically. if you have any language free from corruption that can elevate the supreme. you are free to called him. either Chineke or Allah. just make sure the name will be free from corruption. this my reason for not using the word God. The yoruba word, ‘olodumare’, is pure and unique, unlike the English words God’, which can be played around with. if you add ‘s’ to the word God, it becomes ‘Gods’, that is the plural of God. olodumare is one and singular, there is no plural of olodumare. If you add ‘dess’ to the word God, it becomes ‘Goddess’ that is a female God. There is nothing like male oludumare or female oludumare. oludumare has no gender. If you add the word ‘father’ to ‘God’ it becomes ‘God-father’. God-father meanssomeone who is a guardian. There is no word like ‘baba oludumare or ‘oludumarebaba’. If you add the word ‘mother’ to ‘God’, it becomes‘God-mother’. There is nothing like olodumare mamai’, or ‘mama olodumare in yoruba dialect. olodumare is a unique word. If you prefix tin before the word God, it becomes tin-God i.e., fake God. olodumare is a unique word, which does not conjure up any mental picture nor can it be played around with. |

0temAtum: I'm noy saying that Olodumare isn't the container of creatures, but what I knoe is that he created some humans and not all humans. Olodumare is a god of the Yorubas and not a god of all. He created the yorubas. Ohomorihi is the god through which I am here and the goddess is Aluna. But they all are not the whole of the first cause whom I call God but they are parts of that first cause just as I am and you are also.
Everybody is a part of this first cause, including Olodumare. you are missing it again. the believe of IFA faith is not limited to Yoruba only. it cut across every race. olodumare is the God of the universe not Yoruba alone. Ifa is a world religion. Its adherents are male and female, and of every race and mixture under the Sun. you can partake of the benefits and blessings of Ifa’s teachings without being a disciple of the tradition. |
Christianity Etc › Yoruba Story Of Creation. Fact Or Fiction by vaxx(op): 8:41pm On Aug 26, 2017*. Modified: 12:24am On Mar 09, 2018 |
It is a widely held belief by scientists that life began in the ocean roughly 3.8 billion years ago in thermal vents on the ancient seafloor bed which were created by the separation of tectonic plates. Even today, these hot vents continue to sustain an ecosystem in the dark depths of the ocean. Some scientists speculated about the possibility that it could also have started in tide pools and hot springs formed by the tectonic plate movements. What makes these scientific findings interesting is the correlation of science and the Yoruba belief of creation.
The story
Yemoja-Olòkun and its watery world were alone in the cosmos for a very long time incubating the life that was to come into the world. God Olodumare sent obatala, the “divine sculptor” along with Odùduwà to shape the world. They were guided by Eshu who creates opportunities for life.
They descended from heaven in a beam of light resembling a golden chain as bright as the sun. Obatala brought the "Igba Iwa"("calabash of existence"), it contained fertile soil (“Ashe”-life-giving energy), a palm seed, and a mythical five-toed rooster to scratch the earth, spread the soil and bury the seed of life. As the earth broke open (tectonic plates), other Orishas joined in to help the new world. The seed grew into an enormous tree. When it came time for humans to be created, Obatala molded them from mud and clay. It was at this time that “sap” (palm wine – also known as “strong white mimbo”) started to come out of the palm tree. Palm wine is highly intoxicating. This allowed, Odùduwà who rules the subconscious mind to then impart wisdom and instincts. Nothing is by chance in Olodumare’s plan.
The symbolism is that the conscious mind as represented by Obatala need to go to sleep in order to reach the subconscious mind as represented by Odùduwà.

bobowaja: The first stage of learning is admitting you don't know anything and prepared to know. But religious dogmas made us accept whatever they gave us without asking further questions (therefore that is not learning but dogma). Part of our work here on earth is to solve the puzzles of life and not to look it at the face and attribute it to some mythical powers. We are part of creator's creations and we are creators ourselves. We are made to further the creator's work (Factories and airports were not built by the Supreme creator, but by us which are also in oneness with Him).
So my dear brother, puzzles were meant to be solved by us and we will solved it eventually either by this generation or series of generation that comes after (the level of technology obtainable at this Era were impossible several centuries ago).
And finally bro, keep your several dollars, I don't need it.

0temAtum: You are defining God from your own perspective. Who told you that God is the most high? What if I tell you that God is the most deep? If God isn't everything, then everything is bigger than God, therefore from your definition, God cannot be the most high anymore because everything minus God gives something. E.g if God weigh 2000pounds and everything including God weighs infinity, then the weight of everything minus the weight of God will give you infinity 2000pounds.
However, using most for God shows that you are actually talking about yahweh, one of the sons of God and not God himself, because yahweh's scribes call him most high, but God Almighty who created Yahweh has all qualities, not just one. Therefore we can say that God Almighty is the highest, deepest, etc.
God is everything and I am a part of God. first of all. I am an african traditional faithful. who Is yahweh? when i mean most high. i am not modifying nor describing him in anyway. God is beyond that. i am only elevating him due to his Majesty and wonder. so your analogy has no weight let go back to the topic. energy god is illogical. why? Everything is God theory is absurd. if this existence of everything is to be taken physically, that will mean we along with our physical universe or nature is in God or part of God. Then it can be said- God or some part of Him is confined within the space, time and laws of our universe right. But this is incompatible with common sense. God should not be confined within our space, time and laws. because this object are not by accident And again if it is said that we and our universe is physically part of God then it would mean that He did not actually created us from nothing. which will go against big bang theory and evolution. |

If God is everything, then He is also weakness and can take on the weaknesses of everything, and this is illogical because God is all powerful and weak in no way like His creation. Furthermore if God was everything, then he would also be of the lowest of things, and God is not low, He is the Most High far above everything. It would also mean that God would have a beginning and an end, but God has no beginning nor end. i believe that God is part of His creation, i also believe He is not affected by space or time nor can measure |

Sarassin: I find the steady degradation of African traditional religions and divinatory methods that were once highly stylised methods and doctrines rather sad, people are no longer able to distinguish between what are symbolisms and practices. For instance, the Ifa divinatory method along with the Chinese I’ching system are amongst the oldest most primordial divinatory methods known to man, they are not derivative of other systems and are a paradigm unto themselves.
Personally I experience the ATR divinities as reflections of the Divine nature of the universe. For me, these divinities do not exactly live on earth, they exist in a hidden place described by many as the spirit world. They may come onto the earth when they desire, they may enter humans or animals, and they may take influence over human souls as well. What I have found is that many of these ATR divinities transcend the local cultures.
I discovered and encountered Yemoja, the Goddess I describe as ‘mother’ She is symbolised by the moon and ocean, she is a divine protector of women with children and she can wreak havoc when provoked to action she described to me her many incarnations in other cultures, distant and even that yet to come, she belongs to the world, she is patriarch of the keepers of the earth, we spoke for ages, her sentinel the wolf remains with me.
I encountered the sensual Osun Goddess of freshwater, love and harmony this first encounter with her was in her form of a terrifying visage of a dragon with flaming eyes scaring the living daylights out of me, she jokingly mused that if she had appeared as a desirable woman I would not have taken her seriously!
After much entreaty I encountered a most private of Divinities well described in the Yoruba pantheon. This last God whose visage I will not even describe is master of wisdom, creative forces, sacred earth and life. He revealed his forms predating the Judaeo Christian faith, he revealed his forms within the Judaeo Christian faith, the Hindu faith, Jainism, and others whilst I simply wept. He is possessed of thousands of indigenous embodiments, many have worshipped him as their supreme God.
Many of the creation stories of the ATR’s are sublime beyond imagination. good writeup |

I came not knowing from where, but I came.
And I saw a pathway in front of me, so I walked. And I will remain walking, whether I want this or not.
How did I come? How did I see my pathway? i do not know!
Am I new or am I old in this existence?
Am I free and unrestrained, or do I walk in chains? Do I lead myself in my life, or am I being led? I wish I know, but…I do not know!
And my path, oh what is my path? Is it long or is it short? Am I ascending in it, or am I going down and sinking? Am I the one who is walking on the road, or is it the road that is moving? Or are we both standing, but it is the time that is running? I do not know!
Before I became a full human, do you see if I were nothing, impossible? Or do you see that I was something? is there an answer to this puzzle, or will it remain eternal? I do not know ... and why do I not know?? I do not know. |

Proudgorgeousga: please leave long. story. I really want to understand how doubting something confirms it's existence. explain in simple terms. why then do you bring in Santa to the discussion. you should have go straight with the question. doubting means uncertainty .if you face this issue Mathematically. you will apply law of probability. the option of chance that one is likely to be correct. let's do the same thing here using probability. If you have two options, out of which one is right and one is wrong the chances that you will chose the right one is half. which mean one out of the two will be correct. You have 50% chances of being correct. Similarly if you toss a coin the chances that your guess will be correct is 50% (1 out of 2) 1/2.If you toss a coin the second time, the chances that you will be correct in the second toss is again 50% that is half. the chances that you will be correct in both the tosses is half multiplied by half (1/2 x 1/2) which is equal to 1/4 which is 50% of 50% which is equal to 25%. If you toss a coin the third time, chances thatyou will be correct all three times is (1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2)that is 1/8 or 50% of 50% of 50% that is 12½%. therefore the chances of God existence and non existences mathematically is 12 percent. therefore I hold on to the 12 percent because the sciences guess for the reality of God agree with it unless it has been proven otherwise. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Why Are There Many Different Religions. by vaxx: 10:02pm On Aug 25, 2017 |
Dohgon: Open your minds and understand this.
Life is a single conscious entity. Conscious meaning it knows its creations such as people different from trees but it's awareness is limited, meaning it doesnt know exactly what it is or what created it. Therefore it is on a quest for self awareness or universal awareness. LIfe is afraid of death so diversifies and multiplies. It feeds on itself and uses 1 basic driving mechanism and that is Desire. For example' Fruits only have 1 purpose and that is to deliver new life yet all we see is the sweetness of that frut. We eat the fruit and destroy the seed. How can we be Life same as the tree and not see that? It's because Life lacks Universal Awareness.
When it comes to religion that is a separate thing. Religion first starts out as a Spiritual inclination to a greater power. All cultures and tribes of the world feel it. It is the Electromagnetic energy of the universe. It existed before matter and because our awareness is limited we call it god. We first marveled at it when we saw Lightning flash and Thunder roll accross the sky and began to interpret it as anger for the things we do in daily life. We began to make Idols to represent the different energies but it wasnt until Hebrew slaves in Egypt came up with an (Unseen god) and gave it power over their moral inclinations that the single god concept ot today became so powerful in controlling peoples lives.
All cultures developed gods but perhaps only the Muslims still understand why it must remain a mystery. It must have no images or representations, not even in one's mind to retain its power. Africans are the only people who have abandoned our Spiritual ideas for the beliefs of others. Therefore still we suffer yes I agree with you. this is where Islam and IFA odu agree. olodumare have no physical representation. Islam to me has a lot of brilliant idea. |
Education › Re: UTME Not For Admission, But For Ranking – Oloyede Oloyede by vaxx: 9:29pm On Aug 25, 2017 |
mashlay: Criticisms have been the reaction since the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board announced the decision to peg the minimum benchmark for admission into universities at 120 and 100 for polytechnics, monotechnics and colleges of education. In this interview, the JAMB registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, responded to issues raised so far by stakeholders, writes FOLASHADE ADEBAYO. Excerpts The decision to reduce the cut-off mark to 120 for universities and 100 for polytechnics has met with criticism from many quarters. It seems it is not a popular decision. You see, the issue is that people who are not familiar with a matter, rather than keeping their peace, will be commenting on things that they know little about. Our examination is not an achievement test. It is not a qualifying examination; rather, it is a ranking examination. Anybody that we want to admit into the university must basically have his five credits. It is not JAMB that qualifies them. But, because we don’t have space for all of them, we decide to rank them. What we had been doing was to ensure that nobody who scored less than 200 had a chance. But, this year, we are saying that anybody who scores up to 120 has a chance. With 200, we have never filled our quota in the last 10 years. Some of those who scored over 200 do not have five credits in their O level results. And you cannot be admitted if you don’t have five credits. Those who are talking have not even dissected the problem, yet they are making recommendations. Other agencies all over the world, like the UKEAS in the United Kingdom, also rank candidates. Some of them do not even conduct any examination. Our examination is not a qualifying examination, it is a ranking examination. What that means is that you can’t admit anybody unless he is qualified. What qualifies an individual is the O level, not the UTME. The children of those who are objecting to this decision go to the UK to study. Do they write the UTME there? They are unfair to the common man who has not stolen money to study in Ghana and the UK. It is part of a class war that the poor man must be kept under. This is a ranking examination and this is a decision of all vice-chancellors, provosts and rectors. Commentators cannot claim to know more than these people do because they are commenting out of ignorance. If you have 10 spaces and five of your children are qualified, then you look for a way of ranking them. You can use age. It does not mean that the number six child is not qualified. But, because he came sixth, then you take the first five. And you can decide on three male children and two female children. So, the fourth male child will not say that you are unfair because there is a parameter. So, our examination is for ranking purposes. We want to rank all qualified candidates and what makes them qualified is the O level. As I speak with you, there was no time in the last 10 years that we have filled 70 per cent of the quota. The colleges of education and polytechnics are there doing nothing. And they kept on admitting students under the table. We are saying no more under-the-table deals. Come and tell us what you are doing under the table and let us see it. But people are commenting on matters that that they are not familiar with. But 120/400 is a far cry from a pass mark… I have answered that question. It is not the UTME that qualifies the candidate for admission. It is a ranking examination. We are not telling you to admit this or that candidate. Let me give you an example. Someone scores 300 and another scores 140, the person with 300 has four credits and the person with 140 has five credits. What it means is that you cannot take the candidate with 300 and you cannot also admit the candidate with 140. That is what we have been doing. What we are now saying is that JAMB is a clearing house. That is why people are faking our results and for them, it is a do or die affair. This is because we have created an unnecessary hurdle. Everywhere in the world, what qualifies candidates is the O level. The same thing applies to us. But because we do not have enough space, we have set an examination for them to rank them. There is no pass or fail with the UTME. We are not saying that universities should leave somebody with 230 and take another with 140. Let me give you another example. We have never filled 50 per cent of the quota for Physics in the last 10 years. Not that there are no individuals who want to study Physics, but because they did not meet the cut-off point. You are paying the lecturers, but the classrooms are vacant. And, if the candidate is fortunate enough to have parents who can sponsor him to Ghana, he will go to that country with his O level and come back with the same degree. He will now be boasting to his colleagues who were not fortunate enough to have a father who can pay their transport fare. The belief has always been that our universities are oversubscribed… I am in a position to know and I know that they are not oversubscribed. There are institutions that are oversubscribed, but they are few. Tell some institutions, maybe more than five, that have in the last 10 years, filled 70 per cent of their admission capacities. It is because there is a mismatch. You ask universities to admit 60 per cent of science students and 40 per cent of those who studied humanities. But what the school system is producing is 70 per cent Arts students and 30 per cent Science students. How do you react to arguments that this was done to assist private universities to lower their standard and accommodate these candidates? That is not correct. I have no reason to encourage private universities. But, having said that, for God’s sake, what is bad in encouraging private universities? You allowed them to be established, you set up regulatory agencies for them and you abandon them. I travelled to Uganda and discovered that 40 per cent of the students in private universities in Kampala are Nigerians. I went to their classrooms and took pictures with them. They did not sit for the UTME, but because their parents are comfortable, they want to oppress the children of the poor. Do you see public universities adjusting their cut-off marks with the latest development? Universities are universities. They have the right, under the law, to admit whom they want to admit. All these people commenting, you will see their reaction when they start to see results. I am not afraid of controversy. I know where I am going and they are the ones who are just commenting casually. I have a goal. I want to appeal to people to be patient and reserve their comments. Let us see the results. I have been in this for 40 years. Why can’t you credit me with the fact that I had the opportunity of being the chairman of the Academic Planners of Nigeria Universities, where we plan academic matters? I had the fortune of being the chairman, Committee of Vice-Chancellors, I had the opportunity of coordinating the association in West Africa and I had the opportunity of being the president of the association in Africa. Don’t you think that I would have studied the situation? How do you react to the fact that facilities in our institutions are overstretched? What we have done has not increased quota. We have taken all those into consideration. Not JAMB alone, but also the NUC, NCC and the NBTE. We have fixed a quota, based on available facilities. We are not telling schools to overshoot their quota, we are saying, “Bring those people who are roaming the streets into the classrooms to fill the quota.” What correlation do facilities and that has to do? I am not the one who fixed the quota. he sounds so emotional rather than a professor. prof are known for thought provoking analysis not judgemental feelings. Nigeria hospital couldn't provide good heath system for buhari but UK did likewise Ghana and Uganda for Nigerian students who felt our education system is poor. every Nigerians student can study anywhere |

Chapter 1 DOMINO REVERAD
1. I am God. I am not sure if I was created by the universe or if I created the universe. But all the same, my adopted sons and priests all call me God. 2. I do not force my sons and priests to worship me or serve me. They do it of their own free will since I am their creator. 3. My city was called Alkervum Auriem, which is by interpretation, the City of Gold. It came not by hand but by my pronouncement. The universe and nature work hand in hand. They give and take back because nothing is free in the universe.
4. The memory of my first existence has been washed off my brain after the catastrophic bang.
5. I lost my memory to the sound of impact while we were creating the chumorld, the clumoid, the world and the other millions of planets many millions of years back.
6. Thanks to my creature, Homo Tactilus, whom I have created to be my external memory.
7. He is the one I choose to keep memory of everything in the universe.
8. Homo Tactilus began to call back to my rememberance what I told him about the universe and my existence:
9. O my father, Domino Reverad, you said the universe came as a flash of light at the same time you also began to exist.
10. My father Domino, according to my everlasting memory, which you gifted to me, you said the universe began to exist immediately you first opened your eyes.
11. You said for long all was dark until the flash of your eyes brought out the sparkle. You said there was no sun in the universe, but you, Almighty Reverad, created it by your powers.
12. Where is your power, O mighty Domino? Where is your strength?
13. Your strength lies in your tongue and your power is your vision.
14. You testified that you have seen what will happen in billions and gazillions of years to come.
15. You said the universe is yours and you belong to the universe.
16. You created all things in the planets to live and die and live and die and live no more.
17. Enough! Tactilus! Enough! I yelled to keep Tactilus still before all my priests because they have all learnt much of my secrets from what Tactilus has mentioned.
18. Now come and live in me, O Tactilus. Dwell in me forever, for you are my tongue with which I speak. You are my memory of which I think.
19. You are my spirit and forever your abode shall be inside of me.
20. Immediately, Tactilus became a rushing wind and entered into me forcefully. There in me he remains until these days.
21. Now I look around to see the aftermath of the bang which I caused by great forces. I see many circles hanging in space. They are countless like the sands of the sea.
22. O Miklas, how many balls do you see? I ask one of my priests standing by and he said he saw just one and so supported his subordinates.
23. I laughed a great laughter that went forth as whirlwind because my priests are all short-sighted.
24. How did they see just one ball?
25. As for me, I see millions of balls hanging in space with bending creatures with tails occupying them.
26. That was all a result of the banging force.
27. Our father, we see not beyond our eyes. Give us vision that we may see.
28. I shall give you no vision above what you have, lest there arises a great commotion in this golden land.
29. How? They asked to know, but I gave them silence for an answer.
30. Instead of giving you vision to see afar, I would rather give you wings to fly around and explore all the great spheres yourself. Go and count them and bring me reports of what you see in them.
31. And so light feathers began to emerge out of the sides of my priests as I wished and they were all amazed.
32. The feathers fused together and became wings to their sides and so they flew, everyone of them to study the balls hanging everywhere in the universe. pounder on this pussle and see for yourself if the doctrine of UFO's make sense . I came not knowing from where, but I came. And I saw a pathway in front of me, so I walked. And I will remain walking, whether I want this or not. How did I come? How did I see my pathway?I do not know? am i new or am I old in this existence? Am I free and unrestrained, or do I walk in chains? Do I lead myself in my life, or am I being led? i wish I know, but…I do not know! And my path, oh what is my path? Is it long or is it short? Am I ascending in it, or am I going down and sinking? Am I the one who is walking on the road, or is it the road that is moving? Or are we both standing, but it is the time that is running? i do not know! Before I became a full human, do you see if I were nothing, impossible? Or do you see that I was something? is there an answer to this puzzle, or will it remain eternal? I do not know ... and why do I not know?? i do not know! |
