Never post in religion section again, go to Technology section and show us what Ogun(who got drunk while coming from a party) invented with his tech. apart from beheading dogs for him. 2. can we treat the existence of God equally to that of Devil?

3.why do God needs to create Devil in the first place?.

4. Do God really need hell- fire concept to promote sinless society or enforce justice in the hereafter?

Not so sure if such subject has been raised on this forum, however, I have a question that has been on my mind lately.

I have been privileged to meet quite a number of people from different culture, various works of life, within and outside the country and I found that those who are atheist are more of the male population than our female folks. Also, I have read extensively and once again to my surprise, more books on atheistism are written by men compared to women.

So to all the eminent and intelligent folks on this forum, why are there more atheist men than women or put it in another way, why are women more religious than men?

***Please all responses are welcome with no bashing or derogatory comments about any gender***
first of all, there is no concrete answer to your question. every idea here will bias in some way.

my own contribution.

when it comes to love. cares and feelings. give it to the women. women who have already develop a feelings with imaginary friend may find it difficult just to breakup. women who are more smart often do not use the smartness when it comes to emotion and love affairs. this can be applicable to men too anyways, but I think is common among women

I think there should be clear scientific evidence on the topic. it is an issue that most be resolved to address gender inequality.

since there is no credible scientific evidence known to me for now. I shall base my findings on observation and assumption.

in physical strength. men appear more stronger than women in the area of size and muscle but in general physical qualities like agility and balance ,immune system and emotions women outperform men.

I also observe women live longer and the reason I accredit to this is that women are bilogically better survivors from the day they’re born.

Statistically, baby girls are more robust than boys, which makes mortality rates among babies a little skewed in favour of girls.

And for reasons that scientists don’t fully understand, throughout their lives women tend to survive the same diseases that kill men.

As an atheist, Evolution, though there are still some gaps in our understanding of the universe and the foundation of all life, offers a far richer and more meaningful explanation of life in general, than any other alternative narative there is.

You only need to look at the species in different parts of the world, the fossils of extinct versions of current species as well as those of species that are non existent anymore we've got. You also need to look up on the genetic codes of different species we have at our disposal to be able to understand that evolution is actually a far truer explanation of life.

But what do you think? What are your veiws on evolution? What are your reservations if you've got any? Let us have a meaningful discussion. No insults, etc.

@Algerian1 you are welcome in here too.

Christianity Etc › Why The World Did Not End In 2012 by vaxx(op): 6:33am On Sep 02, 2017
Question (Q): Are there any threats to the Earth in 2012? Many Internet websites say the world will end in December 2012.

Answer (A):The world will not end in 2012. Our planet has been getting along just fine for more than 4 billion years, and credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012.

Q: What is the origin of the prediction that the world will end in2012?

A:The story started with claims that Nibiru, a supposed planet discovered by the Sumerians, is headed toward Earth. This catastrophe was initially predicted for May 2003, but when nothing happened the doomsday date was moved forward to December 2012 and linked to the end of one of the cycles in the ancient Mayan calendar at the winter solstice in 2012 - hence the predicted doomsday date of December 21, 2012.

Q: Does the Mayan calendar end in December 2012?

A: Just as the calendar you have on your kitchen wall does not cease to exist after December 31, the Mayan calendar does not cease to exist on December 21, 2012. This date is the end of the Mayan long-count period but then -just as your calendar begins again on January 1 - another long-count period begins for the Mayan calendar.

Q: Is NASA predicting a "total blackout" of Earth on Dec. 23 to Dec. 25?

A: Absolutely not. Neither NASA nor any other scientific organization is predicting such a blackout. The false reports on this issue claim that some sort of"alignment of the Universe" will cause a blackout. There is no such alignment (see next question). Some versions of this rumor cite an emergency preparedness message from NASA administrator Charles Bolden. This is simply a message encouraging people to be prepared for emergencies, recorded as part of a wider government preparedness campaign. It never mentions a blackout.

Q: Could planets align in a way that impacts Earth?

A: There are no planetary alignments in the next few decades and even if these alignments were to occur, their effects on the Earth would be negligible. One major alignment occurred in 1962, for example, and two others happened during 1982 and 2000. Each December the Earth and sun align with the approximate center of the Milky Way Galaxy but that is an annual event of no consequence.

Q: Is there a planet or brown dwarf called Nibiru or Planet X or Eris that is approaching the Earth and threatening our planet with widespread destruction?

A:Nibiru and other stories about wayward planets are an Internet hoax. There is no factual basis for these claims. If Nibiru or Planet X were real and headed for an encounter with the Earth in 2012, astronomers would have been tracking it for at least the past decade, and it would be visible by now to the naked eye. Obviously, it does not exist. Eris is real, but it is a dwarf planet similar to Pluto that will remain in the outer solar system; the closest it can come to Earth is about 4 billion miles.

Q: What is the polar shift theory? Is it true that the Earth's crust does a 180-degree rotation around the core in a matter of days if not hours?

A:A reversal in the rotation of Earth is impossible. There are slow movements of the continents (for example Antarctica was near the equator hundreds of millions of years ago), but that is irrelevant to claims of reversal of the rotational poles. However, many of the disaster websites pull a bait-and-switch to fool people. They claim a relationship between the rotation and the magnetic polarity of Earth, which does change irregularly, with a magnetic reversal taking place every 400,000 years on average. As far as we know, such a magnetic reversal doesn't cause any harm to life on Earth. Scientists believe a magnetic reversal is very unlikely to happen in the next few millennia.› More about polar shift.

Q: Is the Earth in danger of being hit by a meteor in 2012?

A:The Earth has always been subject to impacts by comets and asteroids, although big hits are very rare. The last big impact was 65 million years ago, and that led to the extinction of the dinosaurs. Today NASA astronomers are carrying out a survey called the Space guard Survey to find any large near-Earth asteroids long before they hit. We have already determined that there are no threatening asteroids as large as the one that killed the dinosaurs. All this work is done openly with the discoveries posted every day on the NASA Near-Earth Object Program Office website, so you can see for yourself that nothing is predicted to hit in 2012

.Q: How do NASA scientists feel about claims of the world ending in2012?

A: For any claims of disaster or dramatic changes in 2012, where is the science? Where is the evidence? There is none, and for all the fictional assertions, whether they are made in books, movies, documentaries or over the Internet,we cannot change that simple fact. There is no credible evidence for any of the assertions made in support of unusual events taking place in December 2012.› Why you need not fear a supernova› About super volcanoes

Q: Is there a danger from giant solar storms predicted for 2012?

A:Solar activity has a regular cycle, with peaks approximately every 11 years. Near these activity peaks, solar flares can cause some interruption of satellite communications, although engineers are learning how to build electronics that are protected against most solar storms. But there is no special risk associated with 2012. The next solar maximum will occur in the 2012-2014 time frame and is predicted to be an average solar cycle, no different than previous cycles throughout history.

but scratch these.

A quick one: Do you know it was once believed that Lightening and Thunder ( Which is a natural phenomenon) was caused by Gods? If you check history you will see some Gods bearing the "god of lightening and thunder". This continued for years until science made us to understand that lightening is an electrical energy discharge and thunder is the accompanying sound.

Now Mister imagine flying to New York from Nigeria without meteorological data, how is that journey gonna be?

Or you gonna put your faith in God this time around?

I agree Science doesn't have all the answers but the positive is they are constantly researching thereby advancing Humanity
yes a good point there.

. But surprisingly, scientists still don't fully understand how the initial spark forms that generates such powerful lightning. and no research yet has ever explained that. nature can't be understand, and that is why they always contradict themselves. may be scientists will take it as a fact some day.

I will never underrate science. science had made a lot of progress that has help humanity. at least from the days of abacus to modern day computer. kudos to them.

Subjective view? Exactly. Can we now agree religion is not objective (since there is no concrete proof) but subjective (only by faith)?

FYI: I believe in God, not Yahweh, Vinshu, Buddha, Mohammed. I believe in one God who is the source of all energy (infinite energy) and eternal consciousness. It is only a believe without definite proof for now but in do hope in no distant time, Quantum physics will explain it.
science and technology can't explain nature.

that is what scientists do not accept. the more they they try, the more they get confused.

Okay,
Olodumare was mentioned by you as 'the one who owns the container' right?

Otem told you, Olodumare created some people but he said not all.
and that God is within even the creation of the gods for all is God.

You can give all the reasons and examples why you think Olodumare is the universal God same way a Jew will give mighty reasons why Yahweh is the universal God, same way a musulman will give many interesting reasons why Allah is the universal God. But fact remains that non is for what Olodumare is to you and any adherent of the IFA is the same thing Yahweh represents to a Jew and the same thing Allah is to a Muslim.
Hope you get where I'm going with this?

Your assertion that IFA isn't a Yoruba only belief, that other races practice it helps not for I personally know many Nigerians who practice Judaism and other foreign religious ideologies.
Whatever anyone practice remains what they've been exposed to. For at birth, we can be likened to atheists, for then, we know no God we only learn as we grow from our society, shikena.

Your not agreeing that God is Energy won't change the fact. If you know a little about the theory of everything and like I said when you read any religious book have energy at the back of your mind, you'll understand.
Mostly, if you've intentionally left your body before and vibrated higher than your normal body frequency, you'll understand perfectly.
you are actually not following me .

for the sake of time this are my point.

1 God is unique and absolute

2 energy has source therefore it eliminate the attribute of nothing

3 space and time predate big bang theory. the concept of energy

4 the God of Yoruba olodumare is universal . it can be called any name of your interest so far it does not corrupt the entity of his supremacy.. I further sight example why I prefer the word olodumare instead of God . because God in English word is corrupted. If you know of any name you can call him you are free to do. just ensure it can't be corrupted.

No where do I say IFA isn't a Yoruba only believe. I made my point clear. IFA is just a tool of enlightenment that can be study by anybody. no matter your faith .,race and colour. you can learn it and still not practise it.

go back to my post again to fact proof.

lols, I personally followed up on you and Otem4Atum's dialogue.

Bro you don't understand what Otem4Atum is saying but you just went ahead and continued counting or recounting all the attributes you were told of Olodumare.

Get your fact straight. Olodumare represents the Yoruba Almighty exactly as Yahweh represents Jewish Almighty.

But the Crux of the topic is this. Neither is the Almighty alone. All together as Otem4Atum summed it up makes up the Almighty.

Minus anything and you're talking about something or someone else, not the Almighty.

All is Energy, different yes, diffused or not.
Even you and that your house or car are all energy but condensed separately and differently.

There's a way you'll vibrate yourself if you know how, you'll feel the current in you like say electric dey plugged for your bum.
You don even vibrate comot before and experience the speed your soul can travel?

I wish I learn enough to use it to put gold for pocket lols.

I repeat, if you want to understand what Otem4Atum was explaining, think of everything as light waves and electric. Other talks are just other people's experience even all this Otem4Atum is saying here. But try vibrate yourself and get your own experience and keep it, you could share with people if you want to be labeled mad for people seem set to leave their head in between their legs.

Lemme add that God is everything and everything is God.
God is not all powerful because someone thinks so. neither is he weak.
Powerful, weakness and any other attributes you think up are all our construct in this dimension.
In reality, up is down while down is up , mathematically both don't exist if we're talking about God. No good and no bad. Everything just is. Simple.

Enjoy your human time and self that's the reason you came here.
Hurricane and volcanoes can be bad to man but wetin concern nature, you want make nature no do im tin again because of some tiny people wey no even know themselves? lols.
bro, I doubt you are really following as you indicate.

if you do , you will realised I don't reject my self being an energy neither I am novice of your illustrations.

I only reject the idea you have been indoctrinated to that God is energy and also give reasons why olodumare is the universal God and not limited to Yoruba.

I substantiate my evidence by backing it with the attributes and definition of olodumare

go back to my post again! I indicate why God can't be energy. for learning sake read it and bring out flaws in it.

Social evolution refers to man's changes in the way he relates with his environment.

Man, like every other animal, is very territorial in nature, thus, it must have had some sort of hostility towards “intruders” at the earlier stage. However, as time went by, being a social being, humans must have began developing fundness and thus easily became a community due to the complexity of the human brain. This change could have easily bred many types of relational attributes like “love” “lust” “do unto me what you want done to you” “morals” etc. To claim that morality cannot exist outside religion is absolutely unfounded when reverse could be the case.
in fact, i am not getting u. I never made mention of this two word you include in your copy and paste answer. morality and religion.

I only ask you. do I need to be good before I relate with my environment? and why should I do good.
