according to the US embassy childbirth does not qualify for expedited appointment oh. if you don't mind my asking, when did you submit your ds160 form and when did you mil submit? also when did you schedule your appointment?

its a little weird cos the appointment letter actually doesn't state when you booked your appointment,unless it was the email print out you took that shows the date you received it. its the ds160 confirmation page that shows when you submitted your form. i guess yours might be one of the applications that they cannot access or something. were you turned back at the gate? this matter is serious oh! hmmmm

hi beepearl03. did you submit your form before june 9th? cos the website says those who have interviews june 22nd and 23rd but submitted their forms on or after june 9th should reschedule.

Congrats to all those who have been granted their visas recently. Well,as regards doctoresparati, El paso is a border state. Anyone who bothered to look up the area before would know that. It's public info. Like any border state,eg lagos/seme in our own country,illegal immigrants always have access one way or the other. So it's not a big deal. It didn't start today either. I believe doctoresparati decided to set up their maternity service legally so they can capture immigrant clientele who are genuine and wanna pay. Personally, they make it easy,anyone who has read their medical responsibility letter would know it was carefully written. Anyway, I found out about them on nairaland and I can imagine how many other people have. So,I'm pretty sure the embassy is getting a lot of their letters. The CO at my interview also asked me why I am opting for them instead of other hospitals. In my opinion,as long as you.have all the other requirements, no one is gonna be able to just deny you.a visa based on your choice of health care provider. That being said,it's always better to research all your options and pick what works best for you.

I flew BA, The only stress was at our very own MMA airport lagos were some overzealous ba staff said i cant fly cos am 34wks gone even though i had my fit to fly letter, even the port health nurses said they dnt certify after 30wks. But finally after so much pleading they allowed me fly. In heathrow no body even asked if am prego cos really i wasnt looking that far gone. Straight foward to my poe experience. As it got to my turn a new cpb officer resumed and they i was d first person he cleared

TeamclicksAir: lol... well i will use Emirate if i were you its 16hours flight time but the layover is just 1hr compared with BA layover of 9hrs and flight time 10hours....also its cheaper compared to BA.

My dear. Emirates is 7hrs 40mins to dubai,then 1 hr 40mins before 16hrs to Dallas. Total flight time is too long. For s non pregnant woman,that's fine but being pregnant that's not safe at all.the risk of embolism......for BA, it's 6hrs layover not 10hrs and the return journey is about 2hrs layover. Total journey time is shorter, so I prefer it especially for the return leg.

Yea,you should. You are on d AA operated leg from Heathrow to Dallas. I already paid for my ticket before I realized intown won't make provision for check in later than 7pm.

Supermum: I'm also flying BA to Dallas on Sept 9th. Going to intown suites El Paso. We could hook up as I don't have any company if you don't mind.

Great! Are you leaving from Lagos? Intown doesn't let late check in though. My flight to Dallas gets in after 7pm so I'm gonna stay at a hotel for that night.

I'm using BA to Dallas as well for September 9th but my lay over is longer at Heathrow. I think BA is d best for this. The uae airlines, it's 16hrs to Dallas from dubai. Loooooonnnnggggg things!

Went for interview at the lagos embassy on Monday and our session went thus:

US: 10 months
CO: Where do u work.
US: ME, Not working at the moment. Hubby: XYZ and Explained what he does for them
CO: What happen to your Diversity Visa Hubby.
US: Hubby was shocked I never won any DV visa neither did I applied lately
CO: ok may be it might not be you
CO: But am sure you applied for a student visa before?
US: Hubby, yes I did year 2000 but was denied.
CO: SO, why did you answered in the appltn form "NO" you have never been denied visa before?
US: Hubby: I stopped using that passport n also bcuz it doesn't caary my real age.
CO: Common, the question asked if you have ever been denied has nothing with your age.
US: hubby: I wanted to forget that part of my past, moreover the passport was prepared for me by my then sponsor.
CO: Sorry: you visa is denied and handed us a blue form.

Facts: My husband current passport carries same information on old passport except for Age.
My husband really had stopped the use of the old passport and has kept his real Age on the current passport travelling to other parts the world except for our new decision to try US for delivery.
Year in question 2000, his sponsor gave him two task write SAT and get a particular score and he will take care of all other expense. which he did he scored 1360.

Question: how do we clear this air of mix up. we are considering re-applying and answering yes to the denial and explain. But how can we do it better and get it write. I want to have my baby in the USA and we can afford it?

The reason he was denied in 2000, did it have anything to do with his age? Cos as long as he no longer uses that passport,it doesn't matter. Firstly, the passport is more than 10yrs old,so it's no longer even valid. The only question the ds-160 asks about previous passports is if you have had any lost or stolen in the past,which you haven't. So just fill another app and answer yes to the previous us visa app/denial and at your next interview,you should be fine. They really don't like "false information " according to them and I know someone who had a similar problem but he re applied and was given the next year.

Hi @honorable. It would have been easier if you just filled the form right in the first app. However,in the blue paper,they tell you why they are rejecting you. So read through it and pick out the reason. This recent reason would be why you and your spouse have been rejected this time. So you are both going to fill this on your ds-160 forms. Then your spouse is going to fill the other reason for refusal in 2000 as well. All the best.

I hate to bring this up again. But please could any el paso moms help clarify what the process and time frame for birth certificate, us passport and Nigerian.visa is? Thanks in anticipation.

PLEASE my wife's EDD is November 18 (we are planning she leaves Nigeria October 3), and we've contacted a hospital/doctor in Houston, Texas. We have paid 100% of hospital bill for normal delivery ($3,100) and I am planning to make 100% of obGyn fees ($1,600) on Monday, August 18. However, we were at the US Embassy Office last Monday and our application was refused, but was told we can apply again at any time so I applied the next day, but yet to get an appointment date. I suspect 2 reasons. 1. Our travel and tour firm wasn't aware I had made payments so she had vacation and Walt Disney on the application forms. I didn't know before she submitted the forms but decided to be upright with the consular. She is going to the US to have our baby while I am going for vacation for 1 week. 2. My dressing was smart casual. I wore a pair of jeans on a short-sleeve shirt and converse. Normally, people think I'm like 8 years younger because of my baby face too. I'm 34 and I've been addressed as a 26-year old young man several times.

Question is, what's the experience with Abuja and Lagos? Do I schedule the new appointment in Abuja or come to Lagos? What's your dressing got to do with it?

Well, I don't think it has anything to do with your dressing as long as you don't look unkempt. I think the problem was that you applied for a vacation but your wife should have applied for medical reasons. If you are going to re-apply,I advise you go through this thread properly and then fill your ds 160 forms yourselves. Fill a medical visa app for your wife and tourist for yours. You would be traveling to assist her not for visiting Walt Disney,etc
Then have all your documents on hand. Also,you should schedule your interview at the same place you had the first. Changing centres would just make them more suspicious.

Amash, it's okay. You should start antenatal though,you have to make time for your baby bust schedule or not.. I also delayed in making up my mind about where to deliver.
Only submitted my visa app about 3 weeks ago.
Had my interview today.
It was easy breezy.thanks to God and thanks to this forum.
The visa officer asked why I was traveling and I told him to have my baby.
He asked if I had contacted any hospital, I said yes and he asked to see any doc showing that, I gave him d letter.
He asked what I do, I'm not working at d moment and so I told him.
He asked what my husband does, I told him
He asked what d cost of d trip was, I gave him a spread sheet and then he asked to see bank statements, I showed him.
Then he said my.visa has been approved and I should ensure I keep all my receipts "forever and ever"
I laughed and said thanks.
All of this took about 3-5mins.
A couple of people were rejected when I was there, including another pregnant lady.
I believe she didn't come out straight to say she was gonna have her baby there, the.VO had to drag it outta her.
All in.all,I'm grateful to God and all of you who helped with your tips.

As for me when I needed a closer date for appointment, I went ahead to call d embassy but was told since it wasn't an emergency dat I should keep refreshing the appointment page dat most times they release closer dates, that same day I kept going bk to d appointment page to check and i was just lucky wen I checked around 5pm and i saw Abt 10new dates dt were released, I quickly took 2 slots And in less Dan 10 mins, d whole tin disappeared, that is to say dat there were other pple, refreshing the page just d way I was. And am sure dats d way all des pple sat collect moni to book earlier dates do der own. So if u hv strength and time u can try and be hopeful dt u will see. Cheers

dinawe: You can expedite your appointment: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-expeditedappointment.asp on medical reasons but you must have the following handy.
1. A letter from a naija doctor saying your case is critical and you should be giving immediate attention.
2. A letter from a US doctor saying they have looked at your case and are ready to receive you
3. Proof that you can pay the bill of have already paid the bills

But if you ask my candid advise, just wait for your normal date, it's not too late since your flight is the next week. Just go ahead with plans, do your bookings for accommodation and pay your hospital registration and deposit, and you'll be just fine.

Move in there with a positive mentality, be 100% honest and believe me, you'll walk out that door with your visa.

Good day all. I've been an avid reader of this post and it has been really insightful. I'm due in October and planning on using el paso. I've got all my documents ready, however, because I didn't make up my mind on time, by the time I submitted my visa app, earliest available date is sept 2nd, my travel date is just a week after that. Any info anyone has on how I can get an earlier date would be highly appreciated. Thanks. P.S. the intown suites site does have a problem. It makes your booking but doesnt show a confirmation page and doesnt send hou an email. Its been like this for about 3 weeks. I had to call to make a reservation which they say is fine .however, I booked somewhere else and filled that in for the purpose of my visa interview.
