depends on the extended stay you lodged. its walking distance or 5-10 mins away from the closest studio6. The pediatrix bill will be discounted by 30% so you need to confirm if the $1366 is the already discounted price or not. . Adebuble: So far bills paid... Doctors fee: $ 1850. , prenatal, 1st visit, all ultrasounds, delivery (CS), tests , pap smear ,post natal etc . Pls note: the Doc office is far from most extended stays around like 40-50mins away, I used Uber whenever I cldnt be taken.
Hospital fees: $3500 /3days
Paediatric fees: not yet known but 1st visit is in days time, will update y'll but got a Doc for $50 1st visit.
Epidural/spinal blking: $ 750 did spinal blocking cos that was what I did for my 1st CS.
In addition to the above,
I got 40% discount from the lab @HNWMC and also paid $75 for follow up visit at the peadiatric for both consultation n PKU test.
When I did not get my baby's Peadiatix fee, I call them and I was billed $1366... For what?, palpitation started right a way, this is after 80% of my baby's Documentation has been done...
Pls house how low can I push for the bill to be reduce cos I have less than 2 weeks to leave Houston. PLS HELP o.. |

@Apple19, you may wanna ask your contacts on ground in Dallas to help schedule an appointment with your intended doc and send a copy of that to you. You may also wanna try calling your intended hospital and asking if they can send you a breakdown of self-pay fees via post to your intended place of residence and then your host(s) can scan and email to you. It would raise eyebrows at POE that you changed your destination and yet have no evidence of a hospital/doc in your new destination. it's different if you had a ticket showing onward travel or family or friends in Dallas that you had earlier disclosed at visa interview. @mamadele19, the VOs always have a way of typing and acting like they are ignoring you but to be honest, they are listening and watching closely. They don't ask questions that they want answers to and more often than not, they want you to speak. So, re-apply. Change doctors/hospital, get your correspondence together. Re-apply without your child and when your hubby is applying, he can apply with her. In my opinion, more is better than less. Any question asked at your next interview, answer and pass across documents to back up your answers whether requested for or not. |

There is a liability protection attached to your card. If you report fraudulent transactions within a stipulated time frame, the bank bears liability for them and gives you a refund. This has happened to me with my bank account with WF and i was in Nigeria at the time, I called and reported, card was cancelled, money was refunded in 24hrs and a new card was sent to me in the mail. Surprisingly NIPOST got it to me in 7 days. donugapi: This is why many Americans don't use debit cards... Credit cards usually have better user protection for incidents like this.
Thankfully the transactions haven't gone through.. If it did, the bank can't protect you and you lose all your money...
Just be careful where you use your cards. It applies to swiping POS machines as well... |

you can choose to arrive at LAX, its the same state even. Your flight itinerary really is your choice and the cbp officer would not raise eyebrows at that. you would continue your onward journey by road. You can book a car shuttle to this effect or your host(s) can come pick you up. It may have been a matter of curiousity for the cbp official if you were arriving at an airport on the east coast but even at that it would not be a valid reason to refuse you entry into the states if your intentions are genuine and declared and you have evidence of onward travel. iya01: @ bigfido n bisoye82, thanks for ur lovely response, let me re frame my question: if my doctor and my host are in long Beach can I take a flight to Los Angeles and take a bus to long beach. Hope there won't be questions at POE that u are going to longbeach why is ur final flight destination Los Angeles.
@ all Biko ur humble response is needed her. Kisses all |

Truncus arteriosus......chop hugs for the journey thus far. You need to get an immigration lawyer and a good one at that. Look for one who takes on pro bono cases as a "give back" policy. If you are a christian, join a church nearby and speak with the pastor/priest. Same would apply for a muslim i believe. Join a support group for parents who have kids with heart conditions. There is usually a lotta information and support in these kind of groups. you may not exactly want to or even have time to see or mix with people but have it at the back of your mind that you would gain more than lose. Be very wary of swindlers disguised as "immigration experts" Read up on what the immigration prosecutorial discretion law provides for. Like someone earlier advised, do NOT OVERSTAY on any note. worst case scenario, baby's dad or grandma or aunt will stay with the baby for a week. you get a ticket to Nigeria and then come right back. kkbabygirl:
I entered the US legally to deliver my baby. The baby was born in Dec 15.
Regrettably the baby was born with a congenital heart disease called trunsuc artheriosis. She has had two heart surgeries and is currently in the hospital. She has lived all her life in the cardiovascular intensive care unit.
At the moment, the doctors are uncertain of her discharge date. Additionally the baby is billed for more hospital visits and surgeries in the future.
Thank you. |

i am truly deeply sorry for the loss of your lil one and for the unimaginable grief that you are going through. I will put you in prayers and ask that the Holyspirit will show himself to you as your comforter and that the good Lord will give you a new somg to sing and a testimony in due time. twingirls: I had a still birth on 7th Jan. Its such a very sad experiece. I used Dr Amanjoh of Methodist sugarland, I have no regret whatsoever! The baby has already passed by the time I got to the hospital for delivery. She stopped being just my doctor and is now my sister. D staff of methodist sugarland and dr Amanjoh are smply great, even as I grief for my baby, I reckon with them, I will simply choose dem again.
And Soulcare woman? God bless her for me, even thogh I'm alone in America with no friend and family, they filled d vacum well. She stayed with me all tru my CS, my 1st thought was to run out of the hospital and board d next plane back to Nigeria wt my pregnancy, but she stayed and held my hand tru the c section, her whole family stayed truout d day helping wt my grief, hers is more than a concierge, it's a calling.
To my roommate, you know yourself, I say Thank you.
To God, I bless ur name, cos you have already given me the fortitude to bear the loss, even though I waited 3 years for this journey. I thank you for defending my own life, and for all.
To my husband, God be praised, I appreciate you more. |

I am assuming you won't have much luggage for your Ohio leg since you will only be going there for a short stay. Also, you won't be hauling a baby in a car seat and stroller along for that leg as well as having to re-check in d bags. Bisoye82: If I do that I will pay for 2nd checked baggage for to and from Ohio. Thanks my darling |

if you would be travelling first then you are not at the letter to embassy stage. When you are embarking on the trip for delivery, you can send a letter to that effect. Kemo88: I'm scared to, people are saying if they cancel my visa I would have regrets that I should have just tried without sending the email. My husbands Cousin said if I have travelled and booked and payed all my fees then I may not need to send the email to the embassy. She said the only reason they let her in was cos she had payed all her bills. She sent no email lol. Lol lol I know I sound silly |

how about pre-natal care? Is that coordinated by the ob/gyn or the midwives? Usually in the county hospitals, the midwives co-ordinate and the ob/gyn handles pre and post natal care as well as oversees labour and delivery. However you would get to see a different ob at each visit. I know registered midwives are great. People have had good experiences with RMWs and Doulas. For me sha, you gotta have a FACOG and maybe FACS oh! i kent even shout. After sojourning to God's own country, I must have the best I can get. Kemo88: Well, they said I wouldn't need doctors referral as that's inclusive in their package. They said their midwives will take the delivery but if there's any ish the doctor would be only a call away if needed. Then I have to pay 500dollars for pediatricians fees. Price not including tests or scan. I intend to go with test and scan (I read that on this thread).... Meanwhile flight is like 1829dollars (klm), I would find out more when I make the first trip. It sounds too good to be true lol |

Hey. Yes, i think it is the wise thing to do, but would she be sponsoring herself or would you and/or your husband be sponsoring her? I am asking this because if the latter is the case, then you would need to ensure your funds are able to adequately cover travel expenses for all 5 of you (new baby inclusive). If not, then she can apply for a regular visitor visa like she has done in the past and you can list her as a travel companion on your application. If you would both be turning in applications at the same time, then she can list you as a travel companion as well. However, if her visa application goes in before yours, then chances are that it would be completed with a possible grant in good enough time before you apply yourself. kehara: @all the pro's in the house(thks). I plan to go with my mum to Canada so she would help with the kids since I intend travelling with 2 and expecting the third. She has visited Canada before. My aunt also wants to talk to her GP if she could give me a letter, but my question is can I include my mum in my online application. My uncle thinks it's the wisest thing to do since I would be applying with my kids and declaring to have another baby. |

you are starting really early so you shouldn't exactly be so worried. you are also planning on taking a trip to Alaska before you go for delivery right?so POE really shouldn't bother you per se, since you are going on a vacation for that trip. Kemo88: Thanks for your advice ma'm. Everyone's story is different i guess. I agree there are people here busier than I am and still make out time but I was only speaking personally(based on I am going through). May be cos I'm still early in my first pregnancy and my symptoms/sickness have been off the roof. Hopefully when all that settles , my multi-tasking will begin again. I appreciate your response and corrections. May God bless you. Thanks again |

lwkmd! in Brazil, CS is the way to deliver. you have better luck trekking from lagos to lake chad in 2 days than scouting for an ob/gyn and a hospital that would deliver you by VD. nefertitiram: Yes.

oh oh oh! i say make i answer first before reading the riot act but you have so aptly done that. I remember when i joined the thread in part 1 just after the "tsunami" I read every single page. I have been off this thread for like a year and I still read all the way back to catch up. No be say i dey even apply for visa again neither am i even going on another missionary journey at the moment. it is just pure simple common sense that if one wants to sojourn from your country to God's own country, one must do due diligence to get as much information as is necessary and one must not rely only on what another person sends as a reply to your inquiry because one might just fall into a gutter at 2am at night and no one will know and an avalanche would occur and you would be swept into the sea of never-return. i don talk my own. LadyGuinivere: These kinda things are the things that make people vex and 'throw subs'. When one says I have read all yer one asks questions that have been treated. In detail. Several times. It feels like one is insulting other's intelligence. Both options are available to u. If u have enough time, swap the ds 160. If pressed for time go as is. However in both cases, u must declare ur intention and must have supporting documentation. Read between Nov-December. Like 2 people asked this same question so u can follow what they dis and their transcripts. Can't rem their monikers |
