For how long am I supposed to get stuck in the 1st Law of Power?- "Never outshine the Master".
well since they chose to quote the 7th law of power, why don't you refer them back to one of the numerous axioms of the Mafia manager. Read up the axioms like psalm 23 and trust me you won't be looking for answers here.

@HardMirror

Have read your story and it's quite interesting. I'll like to respond, but before I proceed let me inform you I'm no church person trying to re-convert you. Rather, I'm here to point out the misconceptions you had from the beginning and still do. Hopefully, it would help you understand better.

I'll be quoting some of your comments I find interesting.

1.

Yes, you're right, but you don't fully understand why and why hypnotism itself works.

Nature is configured to work that way. You don't have to be a christian for that to happen. You could be a muslem, a babalawo, a monk, a celebrity, anything. If you exert that kind of influence on someone, nature will activate the person receiving such incantations to trust you and get healed. This's why Jesus Christ who had a great knowledge of how nature works emphasized faith among his followers.

T. B. Joshua use it even now, and it's not a bad thing, as long as whoever is using it is using it for good. Of course, thieves also use it to rob people by sheer threat without even wielding a gun!.

This's also the natural tool available to parents to control their children. If such natural powers doesn't exist, children would not obey their parents. It works all the time and would continue to work. Even if now as an unbeliever you go out and start attending to your former followers, it would still work, as long as they don't realize you're no longer a believer. It have nothing to do with the bible or koran or Torah. Again, it's natural.

2.

Similar to the above, if your followers believe what you're saying is true, nature would activate it in their mind as real, even if you were deliberately telling them a lie. Nature works in a way that it's the receiver of such sermon decide whether it's real or not, not YOU. You could be a 419'ner and it would still work!. It's just nature working, it have nothing to do with the bible or koran or Torah.

3.

Not really. But, it's almost like the above. It's the onlooker that decides whether a magic is real or not. Not the actor!!. It's not YOU that decides whether the magic is real or not. As far as the mind of the onlookers are concerned a magic is real. In the eyes of your followers your magic or incantations were real, even if you were a fake pastor deliberating fooling them. Both of you were experiencing reality in opposite sides. If your followers believed your sermon or magic were real, you are not better than them for knowing it was a fake. To them it was real, to you it was a fake. Just two sides of the same coin!!.

Indeed, science also proves so. Albert Einstein's law of relativity shows different people would have different realities depending on their position, location or speed; for instance. If we 're seated watching a live football match in a stadium, and there's a penalty kick, the spectator seated at the back of the goalkeeper sees the kick as a ball coming towards him, while the other spectator seated at the back of the opponent's goalkeeper sees it as a ball running away from him. That's one.

Assuming the match is between Nigeria and Brazil, and at the end Nigeria wins the match by 7 goals to 0, i.e Nigeria 7 : Brazil 0. The reality for Nigeria would be victory and joy, while the reality for Brazil would be loss and sadness. Each country perceiving reality at opposite sides!. These are the two different realities in this example!!.

Quantum physics also have same discoveries!. Scientists were able to get 2 correct answers for 1 mathematical question!!. Reality depends on the mind perceiving it!!. Again, YOU are not the one that decides reality for someone else. I wish I could get someone understand this, cause it's so important. That's how nature works!!.

4.

It's all the same as above. It was the woman that experienced the reality NOT you!!. Indeed, your prayers worked as far as the woman was concerned. Or did it not work??.

I'll be so glad, if you could understand what God means and keep helping such women get back their lives.

5.

This just a misconception. God is you!. It's up to you to pursue good for humanity using that feel good spirit. There's no other God that would solve humanity's problem than you.

6.

Like No. 6 above, this misconception originates from your mistaken concept of God all the while you were a preacher. God wants you to do anything you can for the advancement of humanity. And when you're doing that he's doing it.

7.
This's where you exposed your biggest misconception about God.

God is not interested in religion!. God has nothing to do with religion!!. Jesus Christ himself was not a christian neither were he a church person. In one instance he went to the church (synagogue) and began destroying the whole place because he felt they weren't doing things right.

God is not interested how many times you pray or so called saving souls for him, but how well you served humanity for good- solving those problems that threw you away from the church. Without mincing words; what this comment tell me is that you were a christian fanatics all the while, same way your friends and big pastors were and still are.

Even if God and Jesus were real and you based your entitlement on the above, God and Jesus would still have rejected you in heaven, if any. Indeed, Jesus said: "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
I think I buy your argument more than any other description of a "God". It's actually the misconception itself that has led most people to believe that you don't have to use your "higher self" to help humanity rather you are advised to be very foolish so you can find favor from infinite intelligence (God or whatever you feel better with). This singular attitude is the only explanation as to why nations who take the holy books literally have progressed more than others..
Science/TechnologyExplaining the battery explosion in mobile phones. by VcStunner(op): 5:01pm On Nov 17, 2016
To fully understand and appreciate the lithium-ion battery, let’s first understand the constituents of a typical lithium-ion battery.

The lithium-ion batteries consist of lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2) as the positive electrode and graphite as the negative electrode. The electrolyte widely used in most lithium-ion batteries is dimethyl carbonate. When the batteries charge, the lithium ions and electrons migrate from the positive to the negative electrode. They discharge, the ions and electrons move from the negative to the positive electrodes, powering its host gadget (phones, laptops etc…). The ions move through an electrolyte typically made of lithium salt dissolved in an organic liquid.
Factors that account for certain accidents in lithium-ion batteries;
Short- circuiting:
A porous separator keeps the battery electrodes apart. Charging the battery for long period or inflicting a mechanical blow can damage the separator thereby causing the battery to discharge rapidly and generate a lot of heat which can in turn melt the battery and subsequent fire.
Over-charging:
When over-charged, lithium cobalt oxide releases oxygen. This can react with the flammable electrolyte and also with cobalt oxide (Co3O4) left over after the release of oxygen. Note that cobalt oxide also increases the resistance of the battery raising the risk of over-heating which will in turn result to more severe implications such as explosion and fire.
Electrolyte breakdown:
The common electrolyte substance used in the lithium-ion battery is the Dimethyl carbonate.
During charging, some of the organic molecules in the electrolyte can break down, forming carbon dioxide. Because the battery is sealed, this causes the pressure to build up. When the pressure is high enough, the battery bursts exposing the flammable electrolyte. This in turn can lead to fire occurrence as in the case of the new Samsung galaxy Note 7. This phenomenon goes a long way to explain why it is advised to unplug gadgets from mains while answering phone calls.
Why the continued usage of lithium-ion battery?
Well, lemme try and answer that question too. There are a few reasons why the lithium-ion battery is still a darling to most manufacturers, and here are some;
1.Lithium is most preferred because it retains more charge
2.Lithium has better energy density on both volumetric (size) and gravimetric (mass) basis. In other words, you get more for the battery size and weight than other competing alternatives.
3.The closest alternative presently require multiple cells and have half the energy density of the former making it less economically viable for commercial purposes.
There are quite a few alternatives to the embattled lithium-ion battery, the list is encouraging enough even though research is still ongoing to improve the safety of the present one. Some of the options that may be adopted when the time is right are Nickel-cadmium, lithium ferrous tetraoxophosphate (which is less prone to oxygen loss, but consumers prefer lower energy density), sodium-ion battery, lithium-air and lithium-sulphur(more for electric cars). Also, significant progress has been made to replace organic electrolyte with possibly ceramic. If that is done, then lithium-ion will be even much safer and better than any other there may be.
Until then, we on nairaland will have to be more safety conscious with the handling of our gadgets. As much as they help us get around our daily engagement, they can also ruin it. Feel free to point out any omission or commission that you may observe to help improve the article.

SAUCE? Accumulated research and observations and my current research project.

Hello everyone. Beautiful evening to us all.

I don't know if my future employer is here or someone who knows someone who knows him, which is why I need everyone to please take this a bit serious.
I am an industrial Chemist with good experience in quality control, processing and manufacturing. I am also one of the most gifted sales man I have met. Practically versatile and endearing to my clients. I graduated with a second class upper (B.tech Hons). My knowledge of the Nigerian business environment and customer needs is immense and I offer the best services in the most professional way I can muster.
Recently (precisely 5days ago), I was contacted by a manufacturing firm to help sale over 150Tons of freshly produced "Hydrated Lime" (calcium hydroxide.. of which 10ton is already gone)... I put this here just in the case any of you may be interested (sooner or later it will be an old news). Presently I am employed by a popular electronic firm as a Store Manager/sales Rep. Even with the double portfolio I still feel under-utilized. That's my bitterness

Bottom line is... I need all the assistance I can get to make a change. Thanks everyone. 09053154146

Mr falana
Wait till they label you a sore looser. They will go ahead to say it's probably because he wasn't given the Attorney General he hoped to get after election was won. Or they may even say the man is confused or that he is a Gani Fawehinmi wanna-be.
In this nation currently, no one has the audacity to be correct by the book anymore even if you quote the constitution and back it up with a bible verse. A Einstein will be lurking in dark waiting to offer u "relative common sense".
Bottomline, stand for the right thing even if you are standing alone. Courage is a virtue. Someday you may need someone to speak out courageously for you.

What lesson can you share with us from your experience?.
We are supposed to learn from our experiences and be better. I think that is the most important thing.
That we do not make the same mistake twice.
Right?.
truth is I wasn't totally caught unawares, the only thing is that I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I just closed from work and went to market. Bottom line is; be prepared all the time, as my colleague normally tell me, he said why are u always talking to your self and demonstrating, nigger didn't know I was rehearsing!! I simply told him that I was expecting an interview soon.
Secondly, if u aren't a good actor u may not do well in a phone interview. Like the post said, you can smile in a phone interview and the other person will feel it from ur next words. I was almost nervous then I remembered I needed d job. The moment I brazened up the main boss stepped in and got more interested. He literally asked d rest of the questions.
Finally, use good dictions, and don't ever think it's a goddamn casual call Cuz I was tempted to laugh at some point but I managed a chuckle. When I realized I messed up, I just changed my diction, voice and grammar..... I got everyone around d table interested.
