@Kmgb,please your transcript did it specify mode of study part time or full time as specified in the ICES website. My contact in Unizik said the mode of study is not included in the transcript and they don't issue any letter indicating that as well as the campus location. Please can you throw more insight on that. Thanks |
Hi all, seems ICES is going to be the way forward for this ECA stuff, their timeline from their website says 10 weeks and no back and forth wahala for verification by school and it's seems cheaper because the documents would be sent my school's official email. Anyone with current experience with them? |
conebeam:No idea my dear |
@Vcole,sorry if I misconstrued you.For references for Family Physician training, your consultants back home in Nigeria can suffice. The good news is that the cap for visa for doctors have been lifted in July so getting visa outside Uk when you get residency training slot is easy now unlike before. A lot of Indians and Pakistanis are leveraging on that now. |
@Newmum,congrats to you my dear. This is the beginning of great things God has in stock for you and your family.Go to Canny and excel. @Elfsman,congrats too bros. |
@Vcole,nice contribution but you don't need to work in Uk for a year or 2 years to get into post graduate training in Family Medicine. Once you get your GMC licence, you can take the Specialty Recruitment exams and if you pass, you start your training. Some guys work for 6 months to get Uk experience then sit for the exams so,it's not compulsory. Though, some people say Aussie is better than Canada in terms of pay as well as work/life balance. |
Family physician residency done in Uk is recognised in Canada and it takes 3 years. For doctors migrating to Canada, your best shot is to pursue your residency training in U.K. so you can practice in Canada. |
@Joo2018,whoever advised your sister about practicing in Uk was right, chances of foreign trained doctors practising in Canada is very slim.I know some Canadian citizens who had to come to Uk to do their residency in Uk and obviously after their training will go back to practice in Canada especially in Family Physician as their training is recognised in Canada. Even if express entry changes along the line, your Uk training is recognised also in Australia. She can still get her pursue her PR in Canada then wait until she qualifies for a citizen then move to Uk and get her post graduate training there. All the best to her |

Good evening guys. Please, how long does it take for Dvla to verify BRP and Passport for Provisional Licence.I intend to travel 3rd week in July so want to be sure it would be returned before that period. Thanks |
Hearty congrats Fatima |
Thanks@Fatima |
@Fatima,thanks but from what I read,if you are on Tier2 dependant as a child or partner you need to live in Uk continuously for 5yrs to qualify for ILR and 12 months after for citizenship.Even if the main applicant has gotten ILR and citizenship, his dependants too must stay for 5 years to be eligible for permanent residence and citizenship too. Please,I stand to be corrected on this |
Hi fam, please would like your input on this.If someone who is currently on Tier 2 visa but hopes to apply for ILR next year and citizenship afterwards but has a child who is US citizen before obtaining ILR,if the main applicant after obtaining UK citizenship decides to relocate to another western country and if after some couple of years he wants to come back to Uk,what kind of visa would the child who is US citizen apply for since there has been a break in his Tier2 dependent visa.Is it going to be child visitor visa which can be made in Uk since his US passport can allow the child in UK for max 6 months. Thanks |
@Jemulsboy,you shouldn't have applied for Canada TRV,your ties in U.K. aren't strong enough.Hope your PR application is water-tight.Nigeria now has a very bad reputation as far as CIC is concerned.Hope the VO assessing your application will be thorough enough to notice that you had submitted your PR application before you you got the TRV denial. Best of luck in your application |
