You didn’t add learn local lingua to this list grin

I’m really hopeful for all that can be achieved during the holidays

I’m a bit concerned at the snail pace with which my younger son is being taught . I know “they know everything” but a six year old still being taught 1-20 is worrying. And his teacher says some are still on 1-10 . I just hope the academic intervention I’m planning would help oh

Hi, is it number bond or just 1-20? I noticed that atimes some state schools are a bit laid back and some teachers, when you ask about general progress of your child, they usually give generic response that the child is where he should be. Try to listen to your gut feeling, go through the curriculum for that term and assess your child on that. Teaching here is individualised.

Hi guys, please for the interview waiver, if your previous visa was issued in UK and expired last year while you were resident there then you moved back to Nigeria, will you be eligible for the interview waiver?
Thanks.

My dear, did you not see where I wrote that, if its your thing then go for it but don't go necessarily because of money.

I have interacted with some of these trades people and I realised that occupational risk that comes with these their jobs are very high. Imagine being a painter/interior decorator you will be inhaling paint virtually everyday, imagine the damage it does to your lungs, or is it tilers? The tiler that did our kitchen splashback had one of his eardrums damaged due to constant using of machine cutting the tiles. Groundsmen, same thing. Before they clock 50,arthritis hits u.The money might be there but it takes a huge toll on one's health. If its your thing, you can go into it but don't just go because of the money.

Also, blacks rarely thrive in such businesses because of bad perception. Nothing beats sound education and it's our duty as parents to guide our kids to study courses that are always in demand especially IT, healthcare and other transferable skills so that even if UK doesn't favour you one can easily migrate to another country.

@Gloriouscrown,sure you can. I will advise visit the school, ask around especially parents at the end of school time for their opinion before you make a choice. And don't forget to pray for Holy Spirit to guide you.

State schools get levels in UK. I'm referencing England. You need to chose your area carefully before you move in. They call it postcode lottery. Some people go to the extent of renting a house they won't live in just to be in a catchment area of outstanding or good schools. The problem with UK is lack of motivation and benefit system so in some areas, the kids and teachers don't bother to push kids.

The area you live is a huge determinant if you are middle class. So chose your area carefully.

@ Sis Mamatukwas, the schools are trying to help the child, these things are funded my govt and are free. A child won't be in SEN register forever, schools need them to get additional funding from govt or council. Once SLT does assessment and feels the child is OK and where he should be, they will be taken off the register. Brits jump at these supports. Some proactive schools do their SALT in school others refer you to the community hub.
It's not like Adhd or autism.

Some children get better with time but the longer it is pushed, the worse the confidence of the child dips.

My little contribution with school aged children here in England. Black kids are usually stereotyped with SEN. If offered help especially speech therapy don't resist, we should try to limit phone/ipad usage. It affects their speech and communication especially with first kids and boys. Read storybooks every night, I know it's tough but it really helps. If you can't read, get one from YouTube Biff, Chip and Kipper and so on then play and stay with them. It increases their vocabulary a lot.

Register them for swimming as soon as possible, dance, drama, football, music, rugby etc. It helps boost their confidence as well as their social circle.

Always ask them what they did in school, who they are sitting with in class, who they played with. Schools here group kids according to their ability. A child in Year 3 for instance can be doing Year 1 curriculum meanwhile in the same class, another child in that same class might be doing Year 4 or 5 curriculum or syllabus.

As a parent, you need to reinforce what they are doing in school at home for your child to be in top table in their class. The class size which is 30 is usually difficult so it's basically survival of the fittest except you are rich, you can opt for private.

With time, I might write more if time permits.

Hello house please iam trying to apply visiting visa for mum though am on maternity leave will be resuming back soon working with NHS and my balance statement is 4k)pounds. Please did I need to include my mum statement BC iam the one the one sponsoring her. Please is there any information I need to include in the application.
Also my mom is retired am trying to include her retirement document plus her land properties and she has 550k in her account too . Please I need advice

Write a cover letter introducing yourself, job title then mention you are inviting your mum for a visit but don't mention omugwu/childcare. You can say she is visiting to see her grandchildren. Mention that she will be staying with you all through her stay that her flight, accommodation will be sorted by you.

Include her bank statement, it's very important and also, if she is currently working or retired add the letter(pension letter if any).
Attach your tenancy agreement, council tax, letter of invitation from you as well as the cover letter.

Your mum should write cover letter as well.

All the best.

Abeg guys, my mum paid 35k for passport at Awka since February, she was told again to bring 10k last week as the woman helping her at Awka passport office claimed they will "write her passport" as few were just sent to them. As at today, she claimed the ones sent has finished again, please what do we do? This is quite frustrating. Do local passport offices write passports for people? Thanks.

The Enenche's are so successful! Their forefathers must have done something right! Imagine having Head of Defence Information and GO of Dunamis as elder brothers. Sow a good seed today, just like there are generational curses, so are there generational blessings. I don't see the blessings of the Enenches dying out soon, even if their children sin, God will always remember the good their ancestors did!

Make sure you are not the reason your lineage will suffer a generational curse! Make sure your family receives generational blessing through you.
..

That General Enenche is a disgrace and contrast to his younger brother, Dr Pst Enenche, how he lies through his teeth all in the name of Army is sickening. Its more nauseating when you lie about dead people. Anyway there is always a black sheep in families.
