PoliticsRe: Boko Haram KILL 6 more on Sunday , Very very sad, over 60 killed since last week by velo10: 2:18am On Jan 07, 2012
While this is going on, this bleeped government is removing subsidy making life harder for Nigerians rather than confronting this security threat. Nigerians are really on their own.
PoliticsRe: Subsidy Removal: Un Commends Jonathan, As Eu Passes Vote Of Confidence by velo10: 2:15am On Jan 07, 2012
The West had problems and didn't seek Africa's help in solving it. Why does these so-called Western countries think they have the absolute panacea for Africa's problems. As far as I'm concerned they create problems when there is none. If our so-called leaders are nothing but dancers to their tune, then they don't deserve their positions. These westerners arent here, neither do they know how things work here. Arent we smart enough to think up solutions up for ourselves?

GOMBE, Nigeria (AP) — A pastor says gunmen have attacked a church in northeast Nigeria, killing at least three people and wounding others.
Johnson Jauro of the Deeper Life Church in Gombe, the capital of Gombe state, said the attack happened around 7 p.m. Thursday. Jauro said he heard gunfire everywhere and lost his wife in the assault on the church.

Police confirmed the attack happened in Gombe, but declined to offer any details.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

The assault came as northeast Nigeria has been facing attacks from a radical Muslim sect known as Boko Haram. It wants strict Shariah law to be implemented across Nigeria, a multiethnic nation of more than 160 million people.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below

I can see you aint more than 22 years old, that is why you talk poo. I was in school when Buhari was in power. He is an illiterate f00l who could not even rule and had his deputy rule for him. He was there for almost 2 years and did nada except concur with the decision of his deputy Idiagbon to whip people on the streets. Nobody rated him after he left and nobody remembered him till the last few years. I feel sorry for you because you read some propaganda on NL and come here to talk crap
Actually i'm 26. Say this and dat about Buhari. The fact remains dat he wasn't perfect like nobody is. But his reign remains one to beat even though it was a miitary regime. He did things in the interest of the country rather than to please greedy godfathers or the international community. Well your president has nothing he's acheived from deputy governor to president. A display of incompetence at its magnitude. If he's dast good, why's almost everybody complaining about him? well I don't blame you, even if you're a victim of Boko haram, you'll still overrate your dulled-out idol.

^^^Please dont derail this thread with your stu.pi.d Buhari campaign. The election is over. Who told you Buhari will not have removed fuel subsidy? Are you his adviser or you are in his head? You think removing fuel subsidy was a GEJ's personal opinion. I.diots like you make the arguments very difficult. Attack GEJ if you must on the merit of what he has done and stop suggesting to intelligent people they should have voted an illiterate mallam who is also the patron of boko aram. Was he not part of the people who put us in this predicament in the first place? nonsense!
Eeediots like you would vote GEJ again. You refuse to accept the truth. Buhari far surpasses this guy both in strength of character and intelligence. Buhari hasn't spent as much time as Jonathan in office but his reign remains a legacy to remember that's why milllions endorsed him for a second chance again. Your idol, Jona would be leaving us with a legacy of unfulfilled promises, Boko haram bombs, Fuel subsidy removal, double-hardship for Nigerians and fear of disintegration.

Stop insulting her. Get a life. Their lives shouldn't determine your existence. Let them be! At least they have achieved being the first family in Nigeria. Why not strive for yours?
She didn't achieve shyt. All she did was to luckily marry a would-be president. At 10 years old, I had better command of English than her presently. If you tolerate mediocrity, you can keep defending her flaws.

I wonder if you'll do any better when pushed to the limits. Rather than analyze what made the guy take this step and look for ways it could have been averted, all you do is judge. Wat a self-righteous person.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Vacancy! Vacancy! Vacancy! For A Quality Graphic Artist by velo10: 9:08am On Dec 31, 2011
Freelancing in graphics aint easy believe me. I quit my fulltime job last year March to embrace freelance. The fact's that the Nigerian business environment isn't ripe enough for freelancing like other countries, but I believe we can make it so. Abroad, freelancers earn alot of pay as it is the norm for companies to employ them. There are even websites for freelancers like elance.com, freelancer.com. I've been advertising my freelance services on facebook and google. Most times I get no response for weeks and most people that reply are either serious or unready. But I have to keep pushing and I make my jobs very impressive, so people can depend more on freelancers than people in business centers and their in-house graphics guys.

@Flagship, I suggest you get a website to showcase your stuffs. That would increase your popularity and credibility. Perhaps if I have a job overload, I could hook you up. You can drop your email. If you are having financial issues, you can get a job like Aseye for the meanwhile, then freelance full time when you think is best convenient. As for me, I'm freelancing and not turning back.

One thing that pisses me off about this woman is that among all our first ladies, she is the most garrulous. I wonder why GEJ can't sit her down to let her know that her speech needs to be polished and error-free to a level. For the Lord's sake, English is this country's language of communication.

See Nigerians, do you know what it means to get depressed to the point of being suicidal? You loose hope in everything, read his story, he lost every thing and felt God was far away, he didnt get there in one day. Am sure at one point he must have believed in God but the way we only preach here and dont show love he may have lost his faith.
In US, every small church has a soup kitchen so at least pple will have places to get a meal, not so here even with all our churches
You're right. Our churches need to show more charity.

PoliticsRe: Man Threatened To Kill Self On Christmas Day. Is He Still Alive? by velo10: 4:44pm On Dec 29, 2011
I'm reading through his facebook wall posts. This guy was much of a pessimist in his views about his life, his country and his God. He overdosed himself too much with these thoughts that he saw no wrong in what he was about to do. I wish everybody remembers that suicide is only a permanent solution to a temporary problem
PoliticsRe: Man Threatened To Kill Self On Christmas Day. Is He Still Alive? by velo10: 4:36pm On Dec 29, 2011
Life is not easy. Many peoples stories are full of pain and sorrows. But we must live it anyways. I wish he searched deeper into his life, he perhaps would have found more puspose to his life. Damn it depression is an awful thing, we need Prozacs in Nigeria.

Whoa, you can't be serious. I think the problem this days is that people are undermining the importance of Graphic artists. Someone like me, I work freelance fulltime. Sometimes I between 40-90k monthly from my contract jobs. This coming year, I intend to multiply that to higher numbers. I think the problem is basically with clients. Graphic designers are being undermined. I think it's high time graphic artsits form an association to curb this exploitation.
PoliticsRe: Buhari's Petiton Thrown Out! by velo10: 1:27pm On Dec 28, 2011
I really wish that some dumbazzes here criticising Buhari end up victims of Jonathan's mismanagement like the Boko Haram bombs. The only man who could put the people's interest into trust was demonised and cheated. Enjoy the Boko Haram bombs, unnecessary tenure elongation and high cost of living from the so-called fuel-subsidy scam.
