Politics / Re: NLC To Commence Nationwide Strike On Wednesday, If PMS Price Isn't Reverted by Ventura1: 4:16pm On Jun 02, 2023
NNPCL should just reverse, and shut all their retail outlet around the country. Let the major and independent marketers continue to sell.

Ajaero romance with Peter obi and labour party will taint this fight, expect division among the rank and file of the labour union.

There will be reduction, but not as much expected. I watched the interview. He said international price of crude, and refining cost will still be applicable to domestic production, while putting cost of shipping at about N21/litre

I am sure Tinubu must have told Kyari, his government is owing nothing, hence the hike across NNPC stations
Politics / Subsidy: FG Owes NNPCL N2.8trillion – Kyari by Ventura1: 11:56am On May 31, 2023
The Chief Executive of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, Mele Kyari, on Tuesday said that the federal government is owing the company N2.8 trillion it paid on petrol subsidy.

Kyari disclosed this to State House correspondents after he met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He affirmed that the subsidy is no longer sustainable as it has made it impossible for the company to have funds to channel into its core businesses.

The NNPCL CEO, who described the announcement made by President Tinubu that subsidy is gone as belated, said the petrol queues that have resurfaced are understandable as marketers will like to understand the meaning of the president’s pronouncement.

He said that the uncertainty on the remark also caused consumers to rush for the product and causing queues.

The NNPCL boss assured that government will initiate measures to cushion the effects of the removal of subsidy

Thanks, I want to believe major marketers like Mobil and Total should be selling around the NNPCL price too.
abatically:

Ogba Lagos. I think all nnpc in Lagos are now selling for this price. Private stations are selling between 520-550

Where is the location?

abatically:
So I got up early this morning, around 4am to queue for fuel at an nnpc station somewhere in Lagos. I had about 7 cars in front of me while the queue behind me was very very long. They were selling for N185 per liter. It was almost my turn when they stopped selling for whatever reason. After like an hour they decided to restart selling but at a new price. Alas. It is now being sold for N488

Don't also forget the insincerity of some of the drivers, many of them engaged in offline trips. They forgot the company could track the journey of the vehicle.

Noted that NNPCL don't refer to it as subsidy, but under recovery. They are considered the sole importer of PMS, my understanding is that they import PMS at a higher cost, while selling at discounted rate, thus affecting their remittance to FAAC.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: My Experience With A Lady I Hired And Fired Last Week by Ventura1: 7:43pm On May 22, 2023
Many shouting no job, are not ready to work.
EmekaStanley:
I hired a lady last week Monday and fired her on Friday same week. I concluded she was not ready yet.

This lady came almost 2 hours late for interview without communicating her reason. If she was going to be late, she should inform the interviewer. Red flag.

I ignored that and decided to proceed with the interview. I decided not to conclude on her based on the interview outcome. I love giving people chances.

I offered her the job, she was excited. She was sent an offer letter which she accepted. On resumption date, this lady came late for work. First day at work. I was like 'Is this 24 year old lady innocently naïve or what?".

On Friday last week, this lady came to work by 10.55am. He work time is 8.00am, and she is an office admin. I was on my seat and sighted her walking in, I had to call her and told her to go back home, and that was it.

By the way, she lives like 15 minutes away from the office, and her route is always against traffic.

I wouldn't know when she resumed from Tuesday to Thursday because I came quite late on those days due to field engagements. When I resumed, I met her sleeping twice. After that, she abandoned her work and stepped out to answer a phone call for almost 1 hour.

My experience with this lady made me understand that a lot of people looking for work are not ready for/to work.

Business / Re: Our Refinery Will Supply First Product To Market By July, Says Dangote by Ventura1: 6:18pm On May 22, 2023
Have you research the cost of production for a litre of petrol?
Nazgul:
From the hundreds of thousands of barrels of PMS that would be refined per day in this refinery, are we still going to be purchasing PMS for over N700 if subsidy is eventually removed?

Cos subsidy (according to the government) is the fee paid to independent marketers to reduce the price of refined petroleum products for consumers (Nigerians), since Dangote would be operating from Nigeria is it safe to say that we're going to experience a reduction in the price of fuel since subsidy would no longer be paid?

Would the refinery have a direct impact in the prices of fuel and Diesel?

Would it cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal on we the masses?

tuborme:
It’s either you practice one Nigeria or you don’t. Stop fighting the igbos. It’s not a crime to ask for good governance. Igbos and all well meaning Nigerians are only asking for good governance. It’s you that supports criminality that sees something wrong when people speak out against injustices.
