Did he though? Like the man looked visibly bored in all the scenes... like he didn't even wanna be there... like he has done the role so many times that it's become a routine.

I know the man has good acting chops on him, but the recurring theme in his recent movies (a middle aged man efficiently dispatches nameless thugs in the quest to save a loved one) has become overwhelmingly exhausting.

Hiring competent filmmakers is a foreign concept to WB. WB & DC have spent so much time playing catch up to Disney & Marvel that they have lost sight of what's important, and have no coherent vision other than "Quick, let's make a bucketload of money and catch up."

It's a terrible model because it affects development and quality. Aside from the Nolan movies, and possibly the Joker, every other DC movie has been bang average and savagely smeared by critics.

Bro, Cruella (2021) is an origin story. In the sequels, Cruella will transform to the point where she is the evil woman we know. The dogs in the mails, while wholesome, are a harbinger of what lies ahead. The dogs will play an important role in Cruella's fate.
