Chibudollar: Body Horror's intention is not to scare, but to provoke, and if reports that people left the theatre due to the film's graphic nature are true, then the film's primary intent was very successful. David Cronenberg is going to be pleased. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Raalsalghul: It's without a doubt the best sequel to an 80s film since Terminator 2, and Mad Max: Fury Road. Tom Cruise is nuts but goddamn, is he good at what he does. |

**Top Gun: Maverick** Everything in the movie is flawless, especially the aerial sequences. The action is incredible and unlike anything I've seen in a long time. The last half-hour was wild, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. But it's more than just action; it's full of warmth, heart and humour. The scene between Maverick and Iceman (Val Kilmar) brought tears to my eyes. This film substantially improves on the original and will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the best sequels ever made. It is an action classic, in my opinion, right up there with Mad Max: Fury Road. I rarely give movies a numeric value, but I'll make an exception for this one and give it a perfect 10. 6 Likes |

**Everything, Everywhere, All at Once** (Spoilers) Funny, emotional, action packed, with great characters, philosophy, great story, and The Matrix references.. This film is more multiverse of madness than Doctor Strange 2. Most modern films lack the story's depth and character development, and it was all done on a $25 million budget! Imagine that! It's amazing how the story didn't fall apart in the chaos. In a world where Hollywood spits out tonnes of soulless cash grabs without taking any risks, this is a welcome surprise.@ Every character is given the opportunity to shine. Even the Karen at the office fell in love with Everlyn in another universe. The film is poignant, and the message is laid bare; Nothing matters, so everything does. To sum up, it’s everything I expected, down to the psychedelic colours. Really lives up to its title. 3 Likes 1 Share

Jasonteague: And why does it ruffle your feathers that I care about this? Being troubled by other people's interest, as my Psychiatrist mother would say, is a compensatory action for something lacking in your life. So, if I were you, chief, I'd look inwards more. It is unusual to be bothered by the interests of others. It's a symptom of insecurity, depression, and other issues. Cheers. 6 Likes 1 Share |

abduleez1: It's already made more money in two weeks than the first one did in its entire theatre run, so I don't think the B+ Cinemascore rating is having too much of an impact. Despite the significant drop, it is still a massive success. People who claim this is a colossal failure are expecting Avengers or Spider-Man numbers for MoM in the Covid era (without the Russian and Chinese markets), which is absurd. When all is said and done, the final gross should be in the 900M-1B range. |

Gmajor: I've read the play, Chief, her ideas are clearly present. Thorne and Tiffany made significant contributions, and the final script was based on Thorne's 45-page draft, but ultimately, it was her ideas that inspired the story.

abduleez1: I don't take this Luiz Fernando guy seriously; he's always pushing an agenda. What he fails to do is provide context; Civil War dropped 74% in its first week, NHW dropped 68%, and several other MCU films dropped similarly. Furthermore, comparing Friday to Friday is pointless and inaccurate in predicting true weekend drop-off. Additionally, Covid spike in many places and the film's absence from the Chinese market, not some meaningless Cinemarecore B+ score, are factors that cannot be overlooked. MoM is still on track to gross a billion dollars. |

Gmajor: 'Cursed Child' was written by Rowling. She then collaborated with Jack Thorne and John Tiffany to adapt the story for the stage. So you're wrong, she did write 'Curse Child' and also contributed to the stage play's screenplay. Do you honestly think I'd say something I don't know? Don't take my word for it; just google it; it's literally a single click away. |

oyaskii:Lol, it's basically a retelling of Hamlet set in ancient Scandinavia, with a dash of mysticism and Norse mythology thrown in for good measure. Unoriginal, but it's quite unusual. It and The Lion King are both based on Hamlet, hence the similarities. Objectively, it's a solid revenge epic; unfortunately, moviegoers don't like the unconventional, and have largely ignored it in theatres, hastening the VOD release. oyaskii:It's not a lack of ideas so much as it is filmmakers giving consumers what they want. One could argue that audiences today are dumber than they were 7, 10, years ago, and that they only pay money to see superheroes, Star Wars, and other nostalgic CGI-heavy sequels. Filmmakers are simply being astute businessmen by capitalising on these flaws. Even when unconventional films like The Northman show up and challenge the status quo, garnering critical acclaim, they are drowned out by pop culture before you can say Jack robbinson. Such is the sad state of modern cinema. oyaskii: Yeah, 2022 has been a bad year for movies, which I'm attributing to Covid hangover. Movie studios are pushing their better films forward to avoid low revenue, so I reckon we'll start seeing better productions after June. 6 Likes 4 Shares |

Beorn: I think you're right. The Rotten Tomatoes rating is extremely useful for what it is. It tells you what the majority of critics think about a film, and how likely you are to enjoy it. Of course, it's a flawed system, but I'd rather look at the Rotten Tomatoes rating than the IMDb. On IMDb, fanboys skew the vote, making it appear much higher than it rightfully should be. |

**The Lincoln Lawyer** After four episodes, I'm liking it. Binge-worthy. It may appear to be your average legal drama, but the case he's working on is intriguing, and Mickey Haller is a joy to watch. **Bosch: Legacy** Love it. I'm delighted to see one of my favourite characters' story continue. The cases are interesting, and Titus Welliver is excellent as Bosch. **Tokyo Vice** Loved it. Many plotlines were left unresolved, but it was a fantastic journey nonetheless. **Halo** The most recent episode was quite enjoyable. I'm not sure how it manages to alternate between good and bad episodes so frequently; hopefully, this will be addressed in the next season. **Candy** I'm three episodes in and loving it. It's based on a true story, so I'll have to read up on it. **Outer Range** Since 'Severance,' this is by far the best thing on TV, in my opinion. Not remotely the same show, or even close to being on the same level, but it delivered on all fronts in terms of premium mystery. **Ozark** The last batch of episodes were all fantastic. They were not rushed in any way. Some fantastic acting and scenes. The show ended at just the right time. 4 Likes 1 Share |

**Firestarter** Uninteresting, awkwardly shot, flat lighting, no suspense, no memorable scenes. This is the second film I've seen today with a script that feels like it's missing a lot of material. The third act sucked. The film's Rotten Tomatoes score of 13 percent perfectly sums it up. 1 Like

**Windfall** Due to lack of exposition, I didn't know the characters well enough to be invested, nor, fear the characters enough to buy into the suspense. The unexpected twist towards the ending was a nice touch, but the drastic tonal shift in the second act didn't work for me. This film was one draft away from being truly great. They simply fell short. Commendable acting and direction, but something was missing. It could have been better; the acting and atmosphere were fine, but the payoff was minimal. Nevertheless, I appreciate the effort. It wasn't terrible.

**Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore** It's not a bad film, but it's just so... basic. The music was lovely, and the costumes were stunning, the plot though... meh. Between this, 'Crimes of Grindelwald,' and 'Cursed Child,' I reckon we have more than enough evidence that Rowling is truly incapable of writing a a half-decent screenplay. Nothing in the first hour mattered or had an impact on how things turned out. Basically, if you watch the last 20 minutes, you'll get the gist of the entire plot. Ultimately, it's marginally better than 'Crimes of Grindelwald,' but if WBD decides to skip the final two instalments, I certainly won't lose sleep over it. 1 Like

abduleez1: You needn't worry that. Her stay in MCU for nearly 8 years has set her for life. Once her contract expires, I'm pretty sure she'll pursue the Daniel Radcliffe approach; choosing roles that interest and challenge her rather than those that pay well. It's both the curse and the gift of these big franchise movies. 2 Likes |
