ShaqFu:Yes, but when we sleep, our minds conjure up past and/or fictitious experiences to provide us with a VR-like experience. Dream is basically an imagined consciousness. |
ShaqFu:There is no scientific evidence to support the existence of premonition. It's classified as a psychological phenomenon by psychiatry. Likewise, Vision. Science defines dreams as "figments of one's imagination." Vision and premonition are elements of telepathy, which falls under the purview of fringe science, and since fringe science is essentially an unproven but plausible scientific theories circling the fringes of real science, I reckon telepathy is very possible. |
potland:As intriguing as the concept is, there is no credible scientific evidence that psychic powers exist. It falls under the purview of fringe science. |
Mecka:In 'Limitless,' taking an experimental drug increases your brain's capacity from default 20% to limitless, effectively turning the consumer into a super genius. Of course, this is a lie because humans are already using 100 percent of their brain capacity, but it works well within the context of the film's genre. Lucy, like Limitless, is a science-fiction with emphasis on fiction. The science explored is make believe. |
abduleez1:Fair enough. |
DandeNumeruno:You can say that again. When an aneurysm ruptures into the brain, it causes short-term memory or total memory loss, aphasia, loss of motor abilities, and poor hand-eye coordination. If you're unlucky, these are what you'll get. If you're lucky, you'll die instantly. Emilia is one of the fortunate few who have survived an aneurysm, or in her case, two aneurysms, and can function relatively normal. |
abduleez1:It's a myth. I once saw a documentary in which a top neurosurgeon explained how humans used nearly 100 percent of their brains every day, albeit not concurrently. Emilia Clarke is saying that her brain aneurysms were so severe that it's a miracle she survived them at all, she has days when she can't process her thoughts or speak coherently. The human brain is a complex genetic marvel. It's so complex that science hasn't figured it out yet. Humans will reverse engineer the human brain to create true artificial intelligence the day the complexities of the human brain are completely understood. |
Purpl3:We watch superhero films to feel good, not to entertain suicidal and homicidal thoughts, chief. ![]() Marvel doesn't want you to wallow when you could simply laugh in the face of tragedy. |
Purpl3:I just felt compelled to speak up in response to an unwarranted disparagement of one of my favorite MCU films. ![]() Thor Ragnorok is a tragic film at its core. Loads of tragedy befell Thor, namely... * His dad, Odin died and ascended to Valhalla * Mjolnir was obliterated by Hela * Many key Asgardians died * His home, Asgard was destroyed. * His brother, Loki died * He lost an eye Etc... It's undeniably a depressing film, but the brilliance of the film is it sold you the tragedy with a smile. ![]() |
Mecka:It's a CBM. Don't overthink it. |
meobizy:You must have missed the mid-credits scene. I won't ruin it for you; just watch it. |
meobizy:Meh, the alternative too often becomes Snyder-esque, dwelling on tragedy and edginess, and those films are about as fun as a freshly painted house drying in the sun. meobizy:You should definitely watch Thor 3 then. It didn't end happily. meobizy:Endgame was always intended to be the conclusion of MCU Phase 3. In fact, Infinity War and Endgame were shot concurrently and released a year apart. |
meobizy:Humour exists to alleviate the stress of awkwardness and tragedy, allowing us to process the negative without being crushed by it. Thor 3 is a sad film. What separates it from the rest is, rather than wallowing in tragedy with gloom, it chose to push through it with a smile. Implying that you've grown so serious that you've become immune to humour is quite sad. I hope you reconsider and watch Thor 3, it's a great film. I'm hoping Thor 4 is nearly as good. |
DandeNumeruno:Yes and No. It's a streaming data by JustWatch, which tracks users’ monthly streaming choices across the country. |
oyaskii:Check again, it's Top Gun (1986). The data is legit. Edit: I missed Maverick, my bad. |
abduleez1:HBO on its own is already hard to beat. When you add all of WB and Max content, it becomes nearly impossible to beat. The backlog of content is insane. |
abduleez1:In my opinion, it sounds farcical, and Will Ferrell's mere presence bodes ill for the film. |
Another day, another obsession with alphabet people. Why are y'all so obsessed? You don't interact with people like this on day to day basis, so what's the point of the obsession? People like us, who live in a country where it's legal to be gay or whatever, and interact with them on a daily basis, don't care half as much as you do. Even if we do, we keep our opinions/feelings to ourselves in order to avoid getting doxxed and/or canceled. Y'all should be grateful that you live in a country where being gay is illegal, and thus you don't have to interact with them. You should stop mimicking and importing the problems of other countries and making them your own. You have practically no reason to vent. |
AnfieldFan:I want to be excited for this movie, but with each leaked image, my hopes are dwindling. Despite her flawless start as a director, she may end up incurring a snag with 'Barbie'. She hasn't had an extensive directorial filmography to inspire such respect and adoration from y'all, so I'm befuddled by the glowing admiration. Even Auteurs have bad days. |
Calibrator:I agree with your first paragraph but not with your second. You made the black race to be a problem, and your viewpoint, in my opinion, reeks of self-hatred. You willfully ignore the fact that superstition exists in all races, some more than others. Religion is the root cause of these; remove it, and mankind can truly think freely. |
Purpl3:I'm a mere padawan to your vawulence ways, young master. ![]()

Happy fetus eviction day! (2022) Positives: you survived another year. Cons: You're closer to death today than you were last year. I wish you a lot of pleasure and joy, and I hope all of your dreams come true. May every hour and minute be filled with joy. Will recommend 10/10. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/WmFrBQT-cj0/maxresdefault.jpg |
Kaycee7:When we saw the door, and Theresa saw the door, and BERNARD didn't... whoa! WTF?! ![]() What I like best about this show is that it surprises me. It's rare these days to be surprised by a film or TV Show. |

AnfieldFan: AnfieldFan:I can confirm that height shrinking is very possible. My maternal grandfather was a tall man when he was younger, at least 6'2 give or take, but he has shrunk considerably in his old age. He's now 5'10... incredible. When you see him now, you'd never guess he's the same guy who towers over everyone in the old family photo album. So, it's possible that Hulk Hogan was taller than his current 6'3-4 height when he was younger. However, I'm sceptical of the 6'7-8 billed height. Wrestling promotions are well-known for exaggerating their performers' height and weight. In order to remain in character, some wrestlers wear special boots to boost their height. Kane used to wear one of those to match The Undertaker's height in their Brothers of Destruction storyline. Some of these so-called gaints aren't as tall as they appear. Great Khali, if I recall correctly, is 6'10-11 but billed as 7'1-2. Based on this pattern, Hogan's earlier true height should be 6'5. |
DandeNumeruno:Furthermore, Starlight should trade places with Frenchie. The latter is basically a murderer with regrets. |
AnfieldFan:It reminds me of how WWE billed CM Punk as a heavyweight despite the fact that he was only 185 pounds in real life. ![]() |
abduleez1:If Hogan is 6'7, then I'm a vampire. ![]() I've seen Mark Calaway (The Undertaker), who is 6'7, tower over him. Hogan is 6'3-4, roughly the same height as Dwayne Johnson.
|
DandeNumeruno:Butcher is on a mission. He will go to any length to obtain his goal. In my opinion, he's far more chaotic neutral than chaotic good. |
