thank you.
can i go with DOM debit card or should i do cash because of the security of handling cash
Khalesi:
Best bet would be to convert to CAD in Canada at a forex booth. We use Califorex. Their rates are far better than banks. But you might want to monitor the CAD/USD performance and change when best value is in the offing.
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by Vesment: 8:45am On Nov 20, 2019
thank you. that means i should go with cash and not in DOM account

the webform is not going through
JustMellow:
If you've not send an email to both Lagos and Kenya, do so. And if you've already done it, re-send again. The only means of notifying IRCC is sending the webform and email, so keep sending.

Good luck!

people are changing to different countries for their admission.
i know of Two good people that assist in visa application processes and the guy just called me and told me that he is no more helping people on Canada visa application.
he applied for 6 people and they all got denied with the same reasons and this guys are young with travel history, academic progression, enough home ties, enough enough cash and they paid their full tuition but still denied them. he said maybe they have reached their immigration range and feel like not accepting or maybe they have their backs on Nigerians.
Either way, all the best to future applicants
I also believe they still accept applications
Phatkings:
A friend of mine just told the that they have discovered most Nigeria student use student visa as an avenue to seek asylum in their country that's the high refusal rate for Nigerians be it college or university that it only takes the grace of God to scale through.... Nawa

nawaoo
i have seen 6 people with this reason and another one this morning.
same thing

Freshprince777:
The refusal letter just dropped . Here are the reason for refusal.
Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit
application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet
the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and
Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of
residence.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can
demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be
accompanied by a new processing fee.

@Frank, @naijaforeigner,@justmellow and other gurus in the house Please how do i tackle this?

i applied on the 3rd August

i am not sure your visa will come before april or may. i think i have read a case where someone submitted new LOA and he was given visa by June the next year
deveid:
But won't the embassy issue a Visa that's valid for September 2020. And when they do it would not mean anything even if I get a school that resumes January

Naijaforeigner:
Hello bro, I got your mention. I will respond tonight.

Nothing to be worried about, 28th of December is still 3 months away. Also, do not pay to anyone until you are in Canada. Make sure you physically see and inspect the house. Also check for reviews about the house or the street. Some houses have a history of bedbugs and roaches.

The landlords can do nothing for you now even if they respond because you will not be around till December.

nice one bro.
please am coming to canada by 28th december and am tired of checking for houses on kijiji without no responses. can i pm you?
Naijaforeigner:
Let me add to what qudkom said. Long post alert.

(1) Getting a part time job depends on city and province. If you search on Indeed and physically go and hand in your resume in companies, you will get a job. Please don't be choosy, any job that comes first, do it.

(2) Canada education is not hard (my opinion) but it is super stressful and demanding. Make sure you have the right team. Ensure you move with people who share same goals with you. There will be days you will feel like giving up or no motivation to continue, it is your friends/team that will boost your morale in those low moments. There will be days you will have multiple assignments, reports or quizzes due and you need mental support, suggestions and so forth. This is where having the right support comes in.

The Chinese girl that had the best result in my program worked 3 days a week and she had 4.1 out of a possible 4.2.
For a whole session , I had at least 98% attendance in all my modules, I worked part time and I had11A's and 1B. Another Nigerian lady in my program, had same result, she worked night shifts and combined it with school. Nigerians are strong and built for anything

(3) Taking care of living expenses with part time work is dependent on if you are working for full 20 hours. Most jobs are structured for 8 hours per shift, so some companies will give you just 2 days in a week because of the 20 hours work restriction students have, while some companies will give you 21/2 days (your exact 20 hours). Some students work 3 days, 22.5 or 24 hours. I do not recommend working above 20 hours though.

If you work for exact 20 hours in London, Ontario and its environs (Sarnia, Windsor), you will get at least 1000CAD monthly. Minimum wage in Ontario is 14 Cad. so lets do the maths;
Accommodation = 450 - 550 Cad
Feeding = about 150 Cad monthly
Data = 50 Cad monthly

Total equals about 750 Cad. You can end up saving at least 200 Cad every month. Even if you do not get the exact 20 hours, 16 hours weekly can take care of feeding, accommodation and data if the student knows how to spend wisely.

P.s The major reason why International students (Nigerians) struggle in Canada is finance. Once you have money, tuition fully paid, you will do well in Canada.

Hi everyone, I've got a bugging question to ask.
After your visa has been approved and you've taken your passport to the embassy, how long does it take to be called for pickup....
I've got a friend who got a student visa to canada and has submitted the int. passport for over 8 weeks now but is yet to be called for pickup, could there be any reason for this? Pls I need clarity.
Thanks.
