Hello @ Just Mellow, Thank you very much for the advise. I did check out McMaster University, I saw an MA in labor, also found an MA program in Communication and New Media which is one of my interests as the handling of social media responses is one of my tasks in my customer care role the only snag is that it seems the course is not thesis based unlike the labor course but it was not clearly stated on the course site so I am still trying to verify that. Please do let me now what you feel of the Communication course. Also the fees for McMaster is almost twice Unisask…also checking to see if I can get a partly funded program. Thank you once again. JustMellow: Hello Vetilicious,
Literally, Public Policy in a way follows identical path with Customer Care functions as it has to do with relating with people. However, it suits more better to Political sphere
It may just be best if your good for what is related to your work experience, maybe HR and the likes in McMaster University.
Best of Luck |

Hello All,
Hope we all had a great week.
Please I seek advise as I research how best to succeed on this journey which I just started..…..
I am a graduate of law and also have a Masters in Public and International Affairs ( MPIA). I am planning to apply to Unisask for the course Master in Public Policy ( MPP) 2022 fall however I graduated with second lowers from the gradate course (law) while my Gp for the MPIA is 3.38. I have about 8 years work experience in customer care.
I need guidance and clarification if I have chosen the right course and if I stand any chance given my Gp.
I am also open to any other course suggestion in a school with fees the range of Unisask which is my line and will guarantee admission.
All the gurus in the house, kindly advise. Thank you |

Nacho4: There is a chance your verification request might be lost in their Unilag's backlog pre lockdown
They have been responding to verification requests since resumption of activities in May, after their initial shutdown in March.
You might want to ask WES to resend the verification request to Unilag. There are no official fees for verification Thanks @ Nacho4 for the response. I did get an update from WES via email in early June that my credentials will be resent if Unilag did not respond . I just needed to be sure i did not need to do anything more. |

Hello All,
My ECA with WES is stuck at verification by Unilag since March. A friend told me that he did nothing and Unilag responded to WES eventually. I just need confirmation if there is any official fees necessary for verification by Unilag or just like my friend said, i just need to wait and nothing needs to be paid. |

Viking007: You should have done the "Nigerian" thing. Who doesn't have a side business in Nigeria? As it is right now everything is a business. You just have to be smart about whatever you intend doing with the money to ensure you pay back. That is an opportunity nobody wants to miss. So I doubt if they'll approve it, though I know of someone who does not have a job or business but his loan was approved.Good luck. Why Canada?
I have had family and friends relocate abroad but never really considered it cuz I had previously lived abroad during MSc. and didn’t stay back due to some reasons. My wife as well had no abroad leanings beyond vacations. Working in Nigeria wasn’t easy; came close to a number of big jobs but didn’t get selected at final AC stage. The “small” companies I worked for had issues paying salaries on time or at all. I quit my job, archived my CV and focused on building my business in Nigeria. However, an issue that rendered me immobile (unable to make money too) for some days, made me realize the benefits of a country that considers the healthcare and welfare of its citizens paramount (go NDP!).
What Canada?
ECA: WES was a breeze for me due to abroad MSc. I didn’t include my Nigerian degree. 21st, July – 17th Sep, 2018. My wife’s own took much longer cuz of Naija factor but we didn’t use it in the end cuz points were enough. My kid didn’t do at all cuz points were enough.
IELTS: I already posted my IELTS story in part 5 . 29th Sept, 2018 – L 9, R 9, S 8, W 7.5. My wife didn’t write cuz points were enough. My kid didn’t write cuz kids don’t listen.
ITA v1: We got our first ITA on Oct 29th, 2018 but rejected it cuz I had to use POF for business.
Medical v1: We had our medicals on Nov 8th, 2018. Mine went smoothly. During our doctor interview, I mentioned my asthma history while my wife told him about her thyroid gland history. He said hers wasn’t an issue according to the system/software but he would double-check and get back to us. The waiting period was filled with anxiety. The next day, the nurse called to inform us that we passed. My kid did his medicals…yeah! finally contributing when points are not being taken.
ITA v3: April 17th, 2018.
POF: It took a while to return to our account. Pls blame my clients, they are not alright…all right. We had our funds in a joint (just my wife and I...my kid wasn’t happy about being excluded cuz he definitely contributed money) Stanbic Mutual Funds account. I logged in and printed our account statement in PDF, combined it with the scanned letter from Stanbic.
NOC: Initially selected 2147 based on my previous job titles, but when I read the rules and found out that job role trumps trudeaus job title, I switched to 2281. My former offices owed it to me (literally and financially) to “follow my advice” on how to structure the letters.
LoE: My letter was 63 pages long…attached docs inclusive oh. I explained every document uploaded in placeholders and attached to the LoE. Major explanations: i- POF: I felt I had to explain the source of POF cuz it came in bulk few days after/before ITAv3. I attached statements from my company account, CAC docs, biz docs (Purchase Orders, Contracts, etc.) ii- Wife’s name: My wife had been using a shortened version of her name on ALL her official documents except her birth certificate which has the spiritual version. Her change of name after marriage was from her shortened version to her current name.
When Canada?
AOR/Post AOR: May 27th, 2019 The wait was pretty chill for me as I have previously handled visa applications all by myself. I registered on immitracker and saw people going green in 69 days…we started praying for a speedy conclusion. My wife occasionally asked for updates…but the frequency increased towards the end of 2019 as we needed to plan 2020. My kid didn’t ask for updates at the beginning…neither at the middle nor the end. I’m beginning to suspect he doesn’t know what’s going on. I joined the April/May AOR WhatsApp group around this time. Our account was pretty uneventful till our medical expired Nov 8th 2019…ghost update. I read some people’s stories on canadavisa forum where they got their medicals extended so we were hopeful. On Nov 10th, my wife gave birth to another kid who is also enjoying points he didn’t contribute to. We raised a CSE the following day etc (see timeline). IOM was kind enough to schedule us for the baby’s medical a day after baby’s passport was ready. I made a mistake when signing the IMM0008 form so we got an ADR for it. Baby’s UCI was ready on Dec 7th. Medical v2 (entire family excluding new baby) requested on Dec 10th. MEPv2 on Dec 19th. Got an ADR for updated POF even though I included it when uploading docs in response to ADR for Baby. We received the PPR email on Jan 3rd, 2020.
How Canada?
Will find out after landing.
We are saying a big thank you to all those that answered our questions and pointed us in the right direction. We appreciate all the positive messages in response to my application status updates. We pray everyone’s PR dream is fulfilled.
God bless! I fell for your comedy Big Congrats to you on this good news to start the year! |

fmsimple: Master degree only for sure. Think only IQAS evaluates LLB as equivalent of Master degree. No advantage doing both as the point for 2 or more cert is less than Masters alone.
Best wishes. Okay , Thanks for the advise |

@ Scandinavian02, thank you so much for the clarification on this. I am grateful.
If you have a Masters, go ahead and evaluate that alone. The CRS points for a Masters degree are more than that for two or more certificates.
You do not need to evaluate your first degree!
See example of how CRS points are alloted:
1. First Degree - 1 point 2. Two or more Certificates (Degree+ Any of OND, NCE, Dip, ATS etc) - 2 points 3. Masters Degree - 3 points 4. Ph.D - 4 points[/quote] |

Hello Friends,
So i have read the first pages and asked here for clarification about evaluating only my Masters alone or my Masters and LLB but i am still confused.
I have a friend who told me she is evaluating her Masters and Degree for more points........ i also need as much points as i can get from the ECA due to age so please i asking the elders here to confirm, do i continue with evaluating just my Master alone or i evaluate both certificates.
Also, the evaluation of two of more certificates which i keep seeing is what continues confusing me. Please help!! |

Silversurfer1: She still has to show proof she has the sole custody of the child. This means the Father will have signed over custody of the child to the mother. You need a Lawyer. Okay, thanks for the input. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by Vetilicious(f): 4:55pm On Oct 17, 2019 |
MOVO: yes, but i will also advise you seek the advice of a lawyer, in case there are other documents to be tendered besides the affidavit that will prove to the immigration officer your husband truly has no claim to the child.
note; some of these documents will require the father's signature. i hope he's readily available to avoid any form of delay. But like i said earlier, the mother was never married to the child's father. The mother had the child when she was young and she alone has been responsible for the child's upkeep |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by Vetilicious(f): 3:48pm On Oct 17, 2019 |
MOVO: I believe there should be an affidavit to show that that the father has no legal claim to the child. saying this based on previous posts and stories. Thanks @ Movo for this input, so that's about three documents that will be needed for him. |

WES, ICES, CES..... the choice is yours with the exception of IQAS. Thank you very much for the response. So i am not also not clear about this thing of WAEC when evaluating with WES. Does it mean that i will be evaluating WAEC along with my Masters if i go with WES or is it just including or indicating the WAEC results........ kindly clarify. |
