i wonder what united will be without ronaldo- pace, 42 goals, 20 assists, free kicks, good in the air, strength, diving ability, hot girl friends and mesmerising dribbling. that is the attributes of like 3 great players in one man!!!

On a gunner note, what is this news about xabi alonso? Miguel veloso i prefer cos he can play DM and centre back which is kind of cool though he has no premiership experience like alonso and veloso can also hit them free kicks so he can share with van persie who is the only gunner that can score them freekicks.

It was just a pre season friendly. results are not really important. I hope wesley sneider will be okay. Why has no one praised senderros? we still have the amsterdamm tournament which is where the likes of cesc and toure will come in then the champions league qualifiers against twente which is where the results really matters

Good for Adebayor. That his run was incredible and he was unlucky not to score. Good game by senderros too. The middle still looks bare although rosicky and fabregas were not there. Good game overall.

i hope Ade will improve his finishing this season because based on the[b] little [/b] i have seen on carlos vela, he does not look like a guy who needs 8 chances to score 1 goal.

The midfield is okay. Diaby can be a good midfielder et la flamini but has been played out of position in the left midfield in previous seasons. denilson and alex song are also coming up. I hope we can get a guy like miguel veloso just to back up the midfielders and veloso can also play centre back.

I think you guys should check out a guy called vincent Kompany. How that guy is not playing for a top european club amazes me. Our defence as at today the 29th of july, is in shatters. we are a gallas sulk and a toure injury scare away from a disaster. i hope it wont remain so come 31st of august.

Arsenals problems is not lack of goal scorers like tkb said. It is our inability to hold on to a lead and conceede goals largely due to factors i cant comprehend that posses our greatest threath. if we had won at birghiminham instead of conceeding a late penalty and had at least got a draw at Old trafford after we scored first, who knows?

Jack wilshere is a class player and will have a good run in the carling cup.Bendtner is bitter sweet- He messes up the simple thing and clinically executes the most difficult of things in front of goal. Carlos vela is the little Eduardo.

As for Adebayor, he became a samson accordding to the english press because since he cut that hair of his middle of january, his form was below par (not because there were no chances to score but because he was not taking those chances)and i still believe eduardo is a better finisher not necessarily a better all round  player than Adebayor but Ade was first choice cos of RVP'S fitness porblems and on a good day is second to RVP

RVP at his best is the best Arsenal striker we have. I miss those his freekicks and fancy turnings and twistings. Hope he stays fit this season and if you doubt then here is proof:

you need an Adebayor and bendtner to score hat tricks against sides like hull and wigan. You need an Eduardo and RVP to score the winner against sides like chelsea and Liverpool.

it ended 10-2 with four goals from bendtner, three from carlos vela, two from jack wilshere and one from walcott.

he played traore as a winger and traore was very good in the first half connecting with clichy.Denilson and ramsey controlled the central midfield first half .

Rasmey and  vela played okay but i think jack wilshere put in a very decent performance-it is not everyday you see an arsenal player doing step overs.

Hopefully senderros and djorou will play against stuggart on wednesday along with nasri and other senior members of the squad.But i think we have more to worry about in the defence than in the midfield

06/07 was the carling cup final where walcott scored only for drogba to score twice and knock us out.

07/08 we finished 83 points just four poins behind united the champions considering we had RVP AND ROSICKY injured and eduarods leg injury we were just unlucky(bad referee decisions against liverpool in the UCL) and lacked experience when it really mattered coupled with the formidable form of both ronaldo and manchester united.

so if you say arsenal is getting weaker and weaker every season, it puzzles me greatly. I know we have not won any trophy in three years as hannibal and co make it their duty to remind us of that everyday   but i wont say the team is getting weaker. All we need is one or two experienced players,less injuries and ALL THE LUCK WE CAN GET.

moreover most of the players that leave arsenal have had their best years while most of the players coming in have their best years ahead of them.

Barry might not be able to "speak" the football language with cesc like alonso might cos of the spanish connection. I am of the opinion that any guy coming in must be able to work with cesc fabregas and must understand cesc fabregas way of playing the game which is why i will prefer xabi alonso to barry.

this is also why i think if adebayor staying might be better because of his understanding with cesc. It is almost telephatic. Cesc is the key to the midfield and is now our most experienced midfielder. we need someone that can complement him as soon as the season begins.

Only if Arsenal could get yaya toure or Xabi Alonso. I know there are more chances of Hannibal and Co. leaving gunners thread alone than this happening.

With 33 appearances for his present club, he would not need protecting like Aaron Ramsey and therefore could be expected to play in most of the Arsenal games. So in the absence of Gareth Barry, it seems that Arsenal will look to an existing Premiership player to buy in place of Flamini. The question remains whether buying in youth can be seen as strengthening. This is an argument for another day I think, we will know by August 16th how the current twists and turns in the transfer market are turning out.

and it seems fenerbache are showing interest in xabi alonso and if alonso leaves liverpool, such funds can be used by liverpool to purchase gareth barry even though gareth barry played today for aston villa as a left back when he came on as a substitute for the injured bouma.
