Bentley and modric and dos santos and jenas and lennon are going to cause damage for spurs this season. Then bent and berbatov to match, I guess spurs will finish fifth this season. Spurs 5 Roma 0 I guess united cannot kill games without Roon and Ron. Too Bad. Well, penalties is any mans game. |
Man of the match is between Fabianski and Jesus Navas for me. Next stop is Twente. |
@ hannibal stop am o. 200k per week ke? The boys tried and that Navas guy is a real threat. |
I am Impressed by Fabianski. Very much impressed. t is good that the youngsters were given a chance and dont forget that the sevilla team is at full strength. |
And i hope Adebayor never has to cut his hair again and why is kolo toure wearing an afro? ![]() |
()

This guy just admit we played good. Haba ![]() At least for once the game did not revolve around Fabregas and we still did well. And i really agree with impaq, we need that defensive midfielder I am Glad for Adebayor. Hope he does that all season. ![]() |
Adebayor-Two goals and one assist. quite impressive. |
Hannibal:Are you Okay ? ![]() |
I have been watching walcott in all the pre season games and i have to say i am not feeling him.He does the difficult things right and does the simple things wrong. He needs to slow down and think when he has the ball instead of just sprinting away. Denilson is light weight and is been pushed off the ball. Arsenal had a lack of concentration for ajax to score the second goal by a quickly taken free kick just like what happened against liverpool in the UCL after Adebayor scored. The boys look okay sha and i hope they enjoy the run out Ajax 2 Arsenal 0 Half time |
presido1:How thought Provoking of you |
i think this thread should be renamed from Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only to Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners and Haters of Gunners Only . Too much haters. . I wonder how come the haters love to post on this thread. Maybe it make them feel better or maybe they think we are going to stop supporting Arsenal. what is the point of hating on us. I think this thread has the highest number of views on nairaland. So people are still watching.HATERS SHOULD SPEND MORE TIME AND TYPING ENERGY SUPPORTING THEIR CLUBS INSTEAD OF HATING ON ARSENAL. Most of these haters spend more time posting and viewing this thread than their own thread. OBSESSION. ![]() Nothing do gunners. ![]() Just to reafirm, if you hate from today till tomorrow, post till 1000 pages, none of these will change: Trophy or no Trophy, we will continue to support Arsenal. In Arsene we Trust Arsene Knows Victoria Concordia Crescsit-Victory comes from harmony. |
dayokanu:what of the remaining 40? Fair enough. The criteria of your list is evident. And i applaud your honesty by not putting Sir alex as number one. Cheers ![]() |
superstan:The last youth players that made any sense i remember Sir Alex developing is probably the likes of scholes,Neville brothers, Giggs,Nicky Butt and Beckham. He now buys them ready made, .Mention five youth players that have come throguh the united academy/Under 16's/under 18's of united to the first team squad in the last 7 or 6 or 5 years. it is the same youths that lost to coventry in the carling cup 2-0 at old trafford last season in the third qualifying round abi? Believe it or not united are not any better than chelsea in transfers. Rooney+Ferdinand+carrick+Hagereaves cost Over 80 Million Pounds in transfer fees. The only promising youth united had and spotted was gerad pique and he has left. |
dayokanu:Make your own Top 50 List and publish it on Nairaland stating your criteria for all to see. End of Story. ![]() |
10. Arsene Wenger. Ranked above managers who have won more and with very good reason. A champion of style and sporting beauty and, most remarkably, a football man you can take at his word. There is not a single club that has not coveted him in the last ten years. 16. Jose Mourinho. A truly exceptional tactician and motivator and, boy, he knows it. There will be complaints that this big trophy hunter with FC Porto and Chelsea is ranked too low. To climb the charts, all he has to do is to prove that he loves the beautiful game half as much as he enjoys advancing his own career 33. Rafael Benitez. The goatee beard does him no favours but, after impressing at Valencia, the Spaniard need only clinch a Premiership title with Liverpool to go shooting up the list. A bit more flair would be welcome to go with the trophies. According to me,Alex Fergusson is a very very great manager and all that but it took him 13 seasons with united to win the champions league with united which is quite impressive because he has now won it twice in 22 seasons. |
dayokanu:The Methodology/Criteria of the list: Choosing the 50 best footballers of all time? That is easy. You simply take your pick of Diego Maradona or Pele and work your way down the list. But the 50 greatest post-war managers from around the world? That has been a fearsomely difficult challenge. No doubt some of the selections that follow will be regarded as highly provocative. ![]() Expert advice has been taken from foreign colleagues, as well as elders and betters, to try to ensure that it is neither too British-based or too modern. Some names that were unfamiliar to this correspondent proved very deserving of inclusion. Come on down Hennes Weisweiler http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/article2437525.ece Okay, Mr sane person, Since you are better than the guys at The Times Online Magazine and you are more knowledgable and have been watching football before them, Make your own Top 50 List, Publish it and let us see it. You even thinking yourself to be more knowledgable than the guys at the Times by calling the list a joke makes me want to question your own sanity. But i give you the benefit of a doubt. Make your own list with reasons and let us see. Anelka won the champions league so did Djibril Cisse and Kanu.Henry and Dennis Bergkamp never won champions league. So, Kini Big Deal? Even the greatest footballer in the modern era Ronaldo De Lima never won champions League |
coded guy:http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/article2437525.ece And i agree that we lack a strong defensive midfielder. United have Hagreaves/Carrick; Chelsea have Essien and the Gang; Liverpool have Mascherano and Alonso; while we have Diaby/Denilson. I dont think that is good enough which is why i think wenger wants to buy in the midfield position. |
I will never ever pay money for a rugged man or mode 9 show but i will pay to see the likes of 9ice,Lord of Ajasa, p square and Mo hits all stars live any day,any place , any time |

JosBoy4Lif:My point is that naija peeps are saitsifed in reading reading just to pass. Japanese and indians read read read and become creative. In most naija universities, students read only to pass. I have had a japanese guy in my class challenge a professor on an issue. A typical naija peep will just nod head and accept. Everyone needs to read but after reading what you do with such knowledge is what matters and that is where nigerians fall short and asians triumph. we read alot but we rarely create/imagine. Afterall, Imagination is greater than knowledge. we don't imagine. Most Nigerians are just concerned about passing the exams and it is all over. Maybe it has to do with the backgorund of the nigerian educational system . |
JACK WILSHERE what did u do for the weekend kid? Ans: I played footie against Real Madrid and Juventus sir! Howzat for an answer from a 16yr old kid
Brilliant. Only if i could say the same about my own weekend. ![]() |
Cesc04:Good Call. Classic carling Cup Material. But this guy is only 16 years old. in nigeria, he might still be in SSS 3 writing WAEC and JAMB. i feel so old. ![]() |
In my school,if you go to library, too much naija peeps- from morning to night. read book like say there is no tomorrow. They even have a section of the library for themselves. but unfortunately, that is all about it. read. read. read and still come out just above average. I guess it is not by how long but by how well. |
the indians are aactually good and some nigerian students are also very smart but only just behind the japanese and indians especially in IT related fields. |
wetin dey pain this dayokanu sef? ![]() |
I school in the UK and the best students in my department are japanese. Those guys are just something else. Incredible to say the least. |
Viante:i feel you. i attended babcock and my graduating class had an average age of 21. Today most of them are in banks, telecommunications, doing masters degree and working in different parts of the world and so on. You just need to be on facebook to see what babcock graduates have been up to and @ such young ages. No one remembers that we were not allowed to eat meat or fish for four years as part of the compulsory vegetarian diet. If haters want to hate, let them hate and watch the money pile up. |
while people are busy calling private universities glorified secondary schools, private university gradautes are getting decent jobs with many of them going ahead to do their masters degree overseas. so you see a private university graduate who is 25 has a bsc., msc. , has completed NYSC and two years working experience. So glorified seconary school or not, rules or no rules, covenant, babcock and the rest of them are doing very very well in terms of the quality of graduates and that is all that counts. whether you were subjected to rules or doctrines during your study does not appear on the CV after all. |
dayokanu:come on. watch the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKaB5z66WKQ Nothing malicious intended. He won the ball. it was just rather unfortunate that their legs clipped together or something. martin taylor was miles away from the ball with that tackle on eduardo. It may also interest you that Diaby was not booked by the referee and the referee was in a very good position. |
i love them Northern girls. believe it or not, they are the best. Hausa gatemen are also very very loyal. i also like dankwa and kuli kuli. Hausa people are very cool. After yoruba, it is edo, then hausa, then fulani, then ijaw, then , Lastly Igbo. This is my own personal opinion and i might be very very wrong but this is based on my own personal experiences. And i believe my generations have always been yorubas. We only became nigerians after the white men did their stuff but a yoruba man has always been a yoruba man and an igbo man has always been an igbo man so yet again i stand corrected if i say i am first a yoruba boy then a nigerian boy not the other way around |
