A woman has filed a lawsuit accusing former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson of raping her sometime in the early 1990s after she met him at a nightclub in Albany, New York.

The woman, who is suing for $5 million, said Tyson raped her in a limousine and that she has suffered from “physical, psychological and emotional injury” in the years since then.

The woman's affidavit does not provide a date for the attack but says only that it happened in the early 1990s — around the same time that beauty pageant contestant Desiree Washington said Tyson raped her in Indianapolis. Tyson was convicted of raping Washington on Feb. 10, 1992, and served three years in prison.

The legal action in New York was filed under the state's Adult Survivors Act, which gives sexual assault victims a one-year window to file lawsuits over assaults that happened years or even decades ago.

The woman said in her affidavit that she got in Tyson's limousine and the boxer immediately started touching her and trying to kiss her.

“I told him no several times and asked him to stop, but he continued to attack me,” the woman said. “He then pulled my pants off and violently raped me.” The lawsuit was first reported by the Times Union of Albany.

The woman is seeking to maintain her anonymity because, she said, publication of her name "would certainly pose a risk to me of further mental harm, harassment, ridicule or personal embarrassment."

The woman's attorney, Darren Seilback, said in a separate filing that his office did not simply take the woman at her word but investigated her allegations and determined that they are “highly credible.” Seilback said Tuesday he could not comment further on the case.

A message seeking comment from Tyson was sent to an agency that has represented him.

Brooklyn-born Tyson, 56, won adulation as the undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990, but his life outside the ring has been turbulent.

Tyson's former wife, actor Robin Givens, said in divorce papers that their late-1980s marriage was characterised by “unprovoked rages of violence and destruction.”

This neighbour of mine is pregnant with 6 other kids. She has been finding it difficult to feed her family including her 6 children. Her husband is an electrician and plumber but he hasn't been getting job inorder to take care of his family. The children had been out of school for several years

I live with my aunt who's a widow. I saw my aunt stressed out yesterday and worried and i was wondering what could be the problem. She was the one who told me about the woman predicament. My aunt has emptied her little foodstuffs because of this woman and her children. My aunt is just a poor widow who's managing herself and kids but she can't stand the sight of this woman and her children hungry.

My aunt told me the woman's friend advice her to inject the pregnancy through abortion. She's six months gone and according to those her friends even nine months pregnancy can be aborted provided she has the money and her state of mind is willing to not forceful

According to her friends, they felt that's the best decision she could consider due to her condition. She cannot even feed the ones on ground, they are not going to school and she's still carry twin right in her womb. She hasn't gotten any baby things. It was my aunt that took her for antenatal when the pregnancy was in 4 months stage. She has been so confused on what to do. My aunt wasn't in support of it though, same time she doesn't have money to support her and her children.

Nigeria isn't saner climes where government support the less privileges. She will be having 8 children in total if she chose not to abort it. What will become the fate of these innocent children? How will she survive with these children in Nigeria? She fainted yesterday and was rushed to the hospital. It was confirmed that she has been thinking so much and she doesn't eat well. This has affected her health conditions.

Her family and that of the husband had been so helpful according to her and it has really taken a toll on them. She even lost one of her uncle who has been supportive. This woman is sad, she's broken and shattered into pieces. I'm even scared of her life because she's not getting good medical attention for her condition. She doesn't eat well for herself and the foetus. I'm even bothered about her life, I sincerely hope all what she's going through wouldn't tell on her on the day of delivery.

Please what's your advice for this woman and her family

One of my guys wants to marry a lady so that both of them will japa to the UK in January 2023.

How it started. Two weeks ago, he told me that the lady refused his marriage proposal and she is not taking him serious despite he had constantly pushed for the relationship to work. He called me today and told me that the lady had accepted to marry him since she couldn't secure a scholarship as planned and she had no option for tuition fee payment. This my guy's brothers are in abroad who are willing to sponsor him. He is now trying to pay the tuition fee of the lady while he follows her on dependant visa and from now till December, they want to marry according to what he told me. Considering CAS, Visa process, Proof of Fund which requires 28 working days and flight tick plus the money involved, I was shocked when he called me to seek my opinion on this.

The lady never agreed but she has agreed to marriage because she wants to Japa and no money. Now, my guy is the option only left for her.

I don't know how to advice him because he wanted us to see tomorrow.

A Malawi man identified as Francis Banda has demolished the houses he built for his wife and her mother after the wife left him for another man.

According to Malawi 24, Banda said in audio shared on social media that he and his wife had been married for 13 years and have three children.

He added that during their marriage, he managed to build two houses, one for the wife and another for her mother at the wife’s home village.

According to Banda, his wife started a relationship with another man and she recently left their house.
At some point, Banda tried to communicate with the woman but her phone was answered by the new man.

This angered Banda and he decided to demolish the houses which he built for the woman and her mother in her village.

The demolition was done by manual labour. He enlisted the help of young men to physically knock down the houses.
