missjugs: Hello justwise, vicjustice and other gurus in the house. I'm going to apply for a visa in 7 months time, so this month I'll make a lodgement of about 1.5million (My monthly salary is actually 180k) and leave it there while my salary and expenditure continue as normal up to the point of visa application. Afterall they can't know since I'll be showing them 6 months only. What do you think? temmym4: Justwise, Vicjustice, worry359 and others. please I need your urgent attention. A very close person, like a bro to me got a Uk visitor visa last year, ddue to som financial circumstance, he couldnt leave until 4 months after the visa was issued, which was last night, he left on the basis of "permission to Leave" from office. He got there this morning around 7am but the problem; he is having some issues at the entry point. He is currently being detained and questioned there as we speak and he isnt really allowed call home, just on occasional basis. We asked him the reason why they arent giving him the clearance and he doesn't understand why He left with 580pounds as cash at hand, had a hotel reservation as well as his Office ID card. Before he left, I asked why he didnt go with any of the documents he submitted to get his visa, he said someone told him it might implicate him. How true is this? Also is the money he has on him too little to get him the entry clearance? What do you feel might be responsible for not granting him entry? Is there anything he, anyone here or there can do to help him out? Will really appreciate your urgent reply due to the fact that we feel he might be sent back to the country by tomorrow if norhing is done. Thank you. From your narration (and with the mention of "leave to remain" ), it is obvious that he obtained a visa by fishy means and plans to stay in the UK with it, and i think the immigration officers at the point of entry suspect his motive. Now, as he is being held at an international port of entry, it is impossible for any UK or Nigerian solicitor to intervene because, technically, he is neither within the UK nor Nigerian jurisdiction: only a UN body can intervene |

sandraa: Question house. Can one apply for a business visa (conference) and stay with family member in the uk during the period of stay (7days) Conference venue is walking distance from Blood relative house.
Plus will one need documents from relative ( tenement agreement, bank statement etc ) like if applying for visiting?? The person concerned have travelled twice to visit Blood relative.
She is confuse if to stick to her business visa as conference is important or just apply for visiting and attend conference But bear in mind company is involved in the conference . You can apply for a business visa and reside in whatever accommodation that soothes you. If you are staying in a person's accommodation, then you are required to provide documents to prove that the person has legitimacy to the property and that there is room for you in it. Finally, you can use either, Business or Visit visa for the conference. |

lorddubic: @Juswise.. my sister is in the UK with her hubby. her hubby entered the UK with a student visa, and the wife joined him with a 6months visiting visa. but the problem is that her two children a boy and a girl was refused Visa to go with their mother. now my sister wants the two children to join she and hubby in the UK how will she go about it?
Note: my sister has been there for over a year now, while her children are with their grand parents. Apparently, the children were refused because, the visa officer wanted to ensure that your sister has responsibility to return to Nigeria for... Now, you sister traveled to the UK on a 6 months tourist visa and she has now over-stayed for over a year, and she wants to bring in her children? Well, i think she made a big mistake, she should have stay by her visa conditions and then return to Nigeria before it expires, and if she intended to stay with her husband, she should have applied for the appropriate visa. In her situation, she is subject to removal from the UK and would be banned from re-entering for a lengthy time: and for reason of the violation, their rights to family reunion have been affected. |

ronaldo007: Hello great people in this forum,i commend y'all!!!!! Thumbs up I am new here Please i have some questions for uk family visitors visa: I want to invite my parents to uk during the summer,i was born here in 1981,dat was the only time my parents were here,on a study visa and they left after about 1yr, QUESTION-will they apply for 6months visit visa or 2yrs since they have been here before? Then i live in a 2bed with my wife and child,is that enough accommodation for both of them? They will be sponsoring themselves as they are doing well in nigeria, but i know i have to also show my employment status here,is 3months payslips/bank statement ok? Or do i need 6months payslips?(cant even find all).definately they will be submitting their 6months. Thank you all in advance to hearing from you They can apply (and pay) for 2 years visa,. but i can assure you that they will only be considered for 6 months visa as their current circumstance suggests. I suppose you already knew that your accommodation is not suitable for an additional person how much more for two. First of all, as you are not financially going to be responsible for them, you are not required to provided your own bank statement... but in the event that you are to provide it, though, 6 months is the requirement, but whether 3 months is ok or not depends on the judgement and satisfaction of the visa officer. You do not need to provide your pay-slips if you have other evidence of employment |

An applicant can do without pictures: picture proof without documented evidence will fail, but documented evidence without pictures can do well. People don't get refused for not providing pictures when there are sufficient evidence of relationship. |

jayfierce: Thanks so much @ vicjustice and @ lilian. Here's what my visa looks like. You could have made things easier by stating your query with the visa attachment as i can not always remember you nor the correspondence that we had. I've just gone through your posts to understand your query. Now, although your visa states the duration of stay (which is 180 days), you should be fine to stay for up to the 180 days if you have valid reasons to stay that long: there are some visas that are valid for 6 month but with 7 days duration of stay, such visa would be a problem in your situation. In most cases, you wouldn't need to explain why you stayed that long because, you wouldn't be asked. But if however you are asked, then ensure that you have just any explanation (a simple explanation such as " there was a change of circumstance in Nigeria so i decided to stay longer than i proposed in order to enjoy more of my time in the UK" ) will do provided they are satisfied that you have enough finance, |

jayfierce: Hello everyone, I just got a 6 months visit visa and I initially planned on staying just a week at a hotel in London. Now I want to stay longer Like up to three weeks and I want to start with Manchester before going to London.
Will this cause problems for me i.e be denied entry on suspicious grounds? Will it affect future applications if they check and see that I didnt follow what I wrote down on my application form?
Thanks a lot for your help! If the 6 months visa carries a Remark that states the duration of stay, then there would be a very serious problem, but if it is an open 6 months visa, then you are fine to stay as long as you wish within its validity. If asked why you stayed longer than declared, just tell them that there was a change of circumstance. |

justwise: Surely that is a good ground for refusal. Visiting London and booking a hotel in Luton or Kent will lead to refusal or traveling as a couple and booking a single bedroom will raise an eyebrow but forgetting the name of the hotel may not be a major issue if the booking confirmation has been submitted. So, is it not reasonable for the visa officer to wonder how they can be certain of the hotel location and it's suitability if they can't remember the name? Well, you see it as trivial, but I don't; Visa Officers are psychologists, and they can use this to determine that the applicants probably booked the hotel for presentation formality rather than reality. Therefore, i am of the opinion that a merciless visa officer can capitalize on this while making a decision: there are people who got refused because they failed to tell the name of the street of the person who invited them. My question is, if the answer is Irrelevant, why did the Visa Officer ask it? Well, i am not saying it is over, but like i said, it all comes up to the mercy of the visa officer. |

justwise: Just like Liliana pointed out interview for visiting visa is a random thing, so you are not singled out.
If the hotel booking Is genuine and not one of those people book then cancel after submitting their application then it will not be a major issue if all other requirements are met. There are people who got refused because, they book hotels that they have no idea of their locations or because, the hotels that they book are not suitable for their proposed activities. Well, it all depends on the mercy of the discretionary judgement of the visa officer |

zaliya: Hi Justwise, am writing in on behalf of a friend of mine who just wrote me on this issue on whatsapp. Pls is there something that can be done? I feel for her.
'Ok what happened was that I overstayed in the UK beyond the approved 6months. When I got back after a year and a half, I got an immigration officer to backdate my arrival date. I later did a new passport and applied for six months which was granted. Am back after 4+ months to apply for 2years. I submitted previous passports including the one with back date which also have a US visa but no UK visa on it just UK travel history, the last UK visa is on the 1st passport. I have 3 passports, the second contains US visa and uk travel history, while the 3rd has the last visa issued which was 6 months (but 4+month used out of it), now am trying to renew for 2yrs and they dug into travel history on the previous passport and discovered the backdate, so that Passport was SEIZED, and it has 2 years Visa which has never been used running on it, moreover - was denied the UK visa too'
Can she appeal? .... and how pls? She can appeal if she thinks that the visa officer was wrong in the decision to take such action, but if the decision is justifiable, then, she is under a 10 years ban. |

mizIvy: Hi guys. So my mother n I went to the embassy to submit our documents today for a tourist visit but was surprise wen we were ask to wait 4 an interview. My mother had to go in cos we applied together n she is sponsoring the trip. After the interview she told me she answered all questions to d best of knowledge but wen ask the name of the hotel we will b staying she couldn't remember the name so she told the interviewer that the hotel was book by an agency n she was asked d name of d agency, which she told them.
The problem is that am a little scared becos of that. I will like to know whats our chances of getting the visa. Thanks. First of all, the visa officer could see the name of the hotel and s/he already knew the answer to the question before s/he asked it: therefore, the purpose of the question was merely for verification which would have demonstrated satisfactory knowledge of the hotel and its suitability. I like to console you by saying that there is no need to be too worried as anxiety can not change the result. However, it is definitely a minus that your mom did not know the name of the place that she intends to stay whilst in the UK, and to be honest, that is enough reason for refusal as the lack of the knowledge is an indication that you are not sure of its location as well as its suitability to facilitate your activities and itinerary. These said, you now need the mercy of the visa officer to overlook this deficit in consideration of other efficiencies. Good luck |

Thank you I don't think anybody ever said that " salary without tax is unverifiable", what i know about is a business that doesn't comply with tax regulation can not be evaluated. A person can apply for a visa without payslips provided that his bank statement of account displays regular incomes which are verifiable. Therefore, as an employee, it is not necessary for Visa Officer to investigate your tax record, and investigation is only possible if they have your payslips |
