@vicjustice: I am a not a little surprised at your response. you admitted that you did not understand what I mean by God Disease, yet you immediately went on to accuse me of Profanity, blasphemy etc. what was that about? if I do not understand something, I ask. simple. Or better still Google it. God Disease, God Complex -- more commonly used are all synonyms of Delusions of Grandeur. Most respectfully, this has nothing to do with God the creator or any imagined 'blasphemy'.
You said, "if you do not understand something, you ask". That is exactly what i did as you can see in my quote: So, how does my post (below) "accuse" you of blasphemy?
Vicjustice:
What do you mean "God disease", is that a blasphemy?
Anyway, I recommend you go to the local registrar acting in the capacity of the government authority to do a formal registry and get the approved marriage certificate, I don't think that the one given to you by the Church is recognized.
By the way, you said the word G*d-Disease is commonly used just like the word G*d-dammit is more commonly used, does that make it right?

Lol he's meant to put "God disease" in quote with small letter "g".he does not want to use insultive words or mean words since he's refering to a man of God.its just an oxymoron
Thanks for coming in, i was actually reconsidering my interest to reply to his post as i don't want to encourage such profanity.
But he uses the capital letter, doesn't that explain what he actually meant?

@ferdimako thanks a lot. I guess I'll just do that.

@vicjustice. the wedding was done in the North, my wife is from there and she simply went back to the same church where the wedding was conducted. She also happen to meet the same Rev Fr who was the officiating minister on the wedding day only to be completely stonewalled. His attitude really riled me because the error came from him. He appears to suffer from the God disease but i have truly forgiven him and am moving on now. After all the embassy might not even accept it.

this might not be the best place to put this, mods, kindly pardon me. Can anybody give m a brief rundown of how I can go about doing a brief court/registry wedding and getting the cert the same day? @All, thanks once again

And this is supposed to be a news headline?
Governors in Europe "chill" about with commoners in local spots on daily basis without security, and it is no news.
God is my witness that just last week, my wife telephoned the Mayor (Governor) of County Kerry to make a complaint, and they met in a local restaurant as arranged: In Ireland, anyone can meet a Mayor, and their personal phone numbers are in their campaign leaflets, and if you don't have the leaflet, just google their names and you will find their contact details

Hi great people of Nairaland,
My story is a little complicated but I'll try and present it as simply as possible, kindly help me read thru and advise me.

I plan to apply for an Australia Visa for me and my wife buy around Sept this year and having gone through the requirements I feel I have met most of the criteria except the issue of marriage.

We did our Trad in early 2013 and the Church Wedding 3months later. A few months later I looked at the wedding certificate and to my shock, they'd made numerous mistakes in our names! I called the catechist and he said we should bring it for correction. wedding was in the far north and we now live and run our business in the south. When my wife went there this year the same Rev Father that conducted simply refused pointblank to make the corrections, he said that's his own policy. He was so insolent my wife was close to tears

Now the error ridden church wedding certificate is of no practical use in its current state, what can I do to have a valid wedding certificate for my upcoming visa application?

can I swear an affidavit to cover this? or will the embassy frown on that?

Can I and do another sharp sharp registry wedding? I'm seriously considering this just to have peace of mind.

ubktech, justwise, vicjustice, FutureDon, equilibrium, malkinburg, galala123, aduktus, ukchy and the rest of the gang please save a soul
That would depend on what the errors are about and whether they are insignificant enough to be overlooked.
However, (in my personal opinion) i don't think a marriage certificate that was issued by a Church would be recognised by an embassy unless the church is empowered to act on the capacity to the registrar office: The reason that i doubt that this Church has the authority is because, you had to go all the way to the north to meet the very Vicar who conducted the wedding when it should have been possible for you to present your complaint to the registrar in your area. Or does that mean that the embassy would also need to contact the particular Reverend Father if they have any need to verify something regarding the marriage?
How about you contacting the Registry Office in your new area?

As a follow-up to my earlier question :
I have now decided to go to the UK in time for the June exam & intend to travel in May.
1)I'm still unemployed. Should I get re-employed at the same hospital (which is difficult because it will be only for little over a month) or would any other hospital do ? Even if I work elsewhere, (this is the name of the place I would be filling up in my form) & I show my earlier employer's payslips (which is upto January) will it be OK or would questions be raised ?
2) I'm waiting for my parents' passports to come ( still with the Home Office) & then apply with my father as sponsor.
3) Could I still apply without anyone sponsoring me, with just a hotel booking for about a week around the period of the exam ? I'll mention that my parents currently live in London but will be back to the homeland, hence the hotel booking. Or does this sound too complicated ?
I am still very perturbed by the employment situation & hence my question, how much of an impact will it make on the visa application. Thanks a lot for your earlier answer, I did'nt go ahead with my cousin's sponsorship.
Your unemployment status means a whole lot, it can represent 99% chance of refusal except your parents are very rich.

I personally don't so much believe in "Beauty tips", some people are naturally beautiful while some aren't so fortunate, and as there is no amount of make-up or surgery that would transform a Vulture into a Peacock, i don't think there is any tip that would turn an ugly monster into a beauty queen.

Thank you VicJustice

The total lodging bill is about GBP1350 for 6 nights and they totally deducted GBP200 from the account, that's the point. I dont have issues with them 'blocking' the amount inside my account (something like freezing that sum and making it unspendable but still in my account) but not deducting the sum out of the account, that was why I was a bit apprehensive and suspicious of that move as a scam.

But so long and if I cancel the booking within time and they re-credited my account, we wont have issues but if 'story' wan enter their gist when i demand for a refund saying that they can't or won't refund, hmmmmm...

Thanks bro.
They do not usually take the full amount during the booking, and depending on individual hotel policies, they normally take within 10 to 30% of the cost.
Also, there are usually window periods during which you are allowed to cancel or change your plans after which it becomes too late to adjust.
I recommend that you read the terms and conditions carefully to avoid making a mistake

Thank you VicJustice

On Ques 1
I have been able to address it based on your advice, Justwise and others after wide consultation. Thank you, God bless.

On Ques 2
I eventually was able to book via my Mastercard Naira Debit Card after severally back and forth to my bank and calls to the hotel in Southwark.
However, the funny twist was that the hotel debited my acct for GBP200 (A night's cost) (which totally exited my account) even though the terms of the booking is that I can cancel my booking at no charge to me on or before 20th July 2015.

I called the hotel and the guy told me that when I come to the UK in July, I'll just pay the balance of my total lodging. I told him I hope I will be able to get a refund if I cancel my booking before July in the instance where I am not able to make my journey again. He said yes (but he did not sound convincing)
The Hotel's area code SE17 3AN

The issues now are;
-Is this hotel trying to scam me?
-Are they not just suppose to, in the extreme instance, block the amount in my account and not totally debit me pending JULY 21?
-How will the hotel return my GBP200 to my card if I decide to cancel my booking?
Highly unlikely that it is a scam.
Every hotel has a policy of refund in the event that a booking is cancelled, howbeit, some may automatically charge your Credit Card for the administration or transaction fee which are usually negligible: and the refund will be re-credited into the very account from which the original payment was made

@JUSTWISE

Good day to all the gurus in the house.I am back.

Kindly help with your perspectives on the below ques.

Q.1I want to apply for myself, my wife and childrenIn this VISA4UK form that they are currently testing- there is "Apply for myself', "Apply for someone Else", how do I apply for my wife and children?Being the sole sponsor and wanting the embassy to know that we are all applying as memebers of the same family, should I open different forms for her and the children one by one or use my log in and click 'applying for someone else' on my own application form page for each of them?

Q.2 My GTbank ATM card successfully paid for my visa fees but I am having issues using it to comfirm my London hotel booking as the hotel kept saying they cannot charge the card. There is sufficient funds on the account to cover the hotel bill and the card has been used in the past to pay for online foreign purhases- both in the UK and US. What should I do considering the fact that I have keyed in this hotel details on my own application form which I have already paid for.Thank you all for your anticipated responses.
Answer 1) Every one of you (even if the person is a baby) is required to fill in an individual application even though you are travelling together. In the application form, you will be asked the details of each accompanying person and also who will be responsible for the costs, so, the details of everyone in the company will eventually overlap and correspond.

Answer 2) While all companies accept Credit Cards From EU countries, The US, Canada, Australia, New-Zealand Japan, South Korea, etc, many companies do not accept credit card from Nigeria and the likes. So, i will advice you to contact the Hotel by email and they will advice you to telephone their credit department where they can manually accept your payment over the phone.

Hello House,

Please I need your advise. I have been given an admission to study Computer Science at an American University.

If I want to apply for a visa, I can only use my own company account which currently has 6M Naira. I am not running my personal account, so it has below 50k in it. What should I do? Should I withdraw the whole amount and deposit it into my personal account?

Moreover, how much do you think I must have in my account to satisfy my financial stability? When applying for the course, the school requested that I send them a statement covering nothing less than $35,000 USD. That fund covers the tuition and housing of 1 year. I’m guessing I have to study there for 2yrs and 6 months.

Please advise
Did you even read the opening article before making this post?
TravelRe: Main Reasons Many Are Refused Visas by Vicjustice(op):
Klayken:
hello Vicjustice, i hope i can get the help i need here. The thoughts of giving an agent money for visa appears to me as stupid. But as it is, i am almost at that point. Three times i have applied for visas for my wife and kids ,three times they have been refused. The first reason was because i used my compant account. The second reason was because she has no friend in the UK. The third reason,my hotel reservation booking was cancelled.i am about getting tired of it all and have decided to go through it one more time before talking to an agent.
Before i start, i like to begin with a warning to avoid anyone who profess to be an agent who helps with visa issues: they will get you into trouble that you would regret for life.
While the reason for the first refusal is clear, i am not sure that the reason for the second refusal is comprehended because, having no friend in the UK is not a ground for visa refusal... And as for the third reason, this could be a bit serious because, it could be seen and judged as deception which could attract a ban depending on the Visa Officer reasoning: but i can't give a definite say on this as i have not seen the written statement of refusal myself.

Klayken:
1) For a tourist visa, is it mandatory you make a tour booking to satisfy the visa officer of your intention.
There are different kind of tourists, there are those who wish to see historical or famous places, and there are those who just wish to travel and relax as there are also those who are just visiting friends etc. Therefore, i will say that it depends on why you are travelling and what your activities whilst there would involve. But it is generally good to have activity plans in place and to schedule corresponding itinerary.

Klayken:
2) How much account balance will satisfy the account officer of availability of funds for their trip. ( they have never been given lack of sufficient funds as a reason)
This is explained in the original article, please, refer to first page

Klayken:
3) My monthly premium payment is btw 2 mill and 2.1mill but i defaulted this januray so i am one month late on my pemium, i hope that wont be a a problem.
Please advise
This is discretionary, the Visa Officer might want to look keenly into the previous six months as well as into the months after the default, and then determine whether the default can be ignored or be taken seriously.

Hello NL's; Justwise, Legxus, Vicjustice & co, I've been refused visa in about 2.1/2 years ago. Reasons stated are; 1. My balance and expenses doesn't tally. (Although I'd a regular and fixed sum constantly deposited as salaries but I guess it's because I spend indiscrimately). 2) I made a mistake on the hotel reservation I made/used then (On the form submitted I mistakenly entered the hotel headquarters address instead of the branch I intended to stay. tho I enclosed the hotel booking in my package submitted. Also, the hotel was outside central London regarded as the tourist centre). 3) they say I didn't provide itinerary of my activities.
Now I wish to apply again, after deducting what I intend to live on I've a balance of 900k in my account (Jan salary:300k, Feb salary: 300k + 2014 leave & 13th month allowy: 500k). I wish to spend not more than 550k for this trip of 10days including travel days. (Flight ticket-200k and 350k for hotel and leisure+shopping)
I earn 300k after tax and pension deductions. for about a year I took a facility which I've been servicing with 100k monthly. finished payments in December2014. So my Jan/Feb credits are 300k each.
My heavy concern is on my expenses because it's been random. That's I spend indiscriminately, no regular pattern. My question is will this spending pattern be a problem checking my expenses in Jan/Feb compared to previous months? However, I decided to cut cost because of the intention of this trip since January.
Also, I will appreciate if someone can help with itinerary, as in sightseeing places to visit in London and possibly transport means round the city.
Visa officers have no businesss with your incontinent pattern of spending, what they want to see is the pattern of regular income and reasonable savings.

I will like to confirm something for a good friend of mine. He's being helping a British friend he met online with African cultural studies ,this british friend would be in Nigeria in October for a week and would like to invite him also to UK (not for dating), the British already made all necessary inquiry with the embassy about inviting and sponsoring him,she already has all the required docs but my friend has got no job to prove as home ties. The embassy said all the British docs are OK to sponsor him,
Can it be that the embassy is deceiving the British despite knowing that my friend got no home ties?
thanks .
peddy007:
Well nope, cos I actually spoke to her and she said that's what the embassy told her.I told her it would be extremely difficult tho but if they are willing to give it a try.

I spoke doesn't mean I'm the guy,I was surprised when he told me all what she said.So I spoke to her about how essential the home ties is,because my friend has got no idea bout the visa stuff.I only asked on here because I believe I can get answers.

Hi, I'm a doctor applying for my PLAB visa. My issues are
1) I quit my job a month ago, but have all my payslips & bank documents. How do I go about filling up the employment column ?
2) My parents are in the UK & my dad's work visa expires in about a week. His passport is with the home office for ILR processing ( he should ideally get it in a few days). But since my exam is quite near, I've got a cousin to sponsor me. How do I present this fact ?
Given these difficulties, please help me tackle this rather complex issue. Hindsight, I should not have quit my job, but my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer last month & since my father could'nt make it, I had to quit my job to support her.
Your profession is good, but your circumstances are unfavorable.
1) You can not fulfill the employment aspect because, you are unemployed, but yet, that does not disqualify you from getting the visa.
2) Your cousin is not eligible to be your sponsor, this aspect will disqualify you.

Thanks for your reply.
Funny as it may sound, not many people know the tax laws of this country properly and I am among those that don't know. I didn't know someone working online will be expected to pay taxes. I thought it was meant for normal businesses registered in Nigeria. I am sure if it was clear that I needed to pay taxes it won't have been a problem for the company to comply.
The Nigerian system does not criminalize minor scale businesses that do not comply with taxation, therefore, business owners are not compelled to pay taxes for their employees, and the embassies know this: and as an employee, they do not consider you a corrupt worker. But the disadvantage is, you can not apply for a visa with such emplyment condition for reason that:
A) The credibility and standard of your company can not be evaluated without tax compliance.
B) Your type of employment is unofficial, having no normal contract letter outlining the details and the terms and conditions that are signed to.
C) The absence of tax record

Thank you. My question is what are the documents I will need to provide and steps to take in order to get a visa for a fully sponsored training? The company is willing to provide all documents requested from them.

To your questions:
1.The contract was agreed over email two years ago. So there is no paper contract.
2. My salary is based on volume of work done for a month. It is between 150-200k (company can provide records of payments).
3. I haven't paid any taxes before.
4. After the training, I will take over remote management of parts of the business on my return.
1) Then, there should be a printable page of the contract text.
2) Good salary range, enough to convince the visa officer.
3) That is a minus.
4) It is encouraging, but yet, with the shortage of tax compliance, it won't look good.
Tax compliance is the preferred means that the embassy checks your eligibility and the credibility of your employer: right now, it is questionable that a company that does not pay your tax is now intending to sponsor you to study abroad.

As for the documents, you might want to take your phone and ring the ambassador to enquire.
