Nairaland has become a forum were graduates are seen as lazy and incompetent people. Going to high institution is now tag as a waste of time in this forum. When you talk about looking for employment they criticize and tell you how you should join enterpreneurship and become dangote. This rascals have forgoten that everybody in life have their area of specialization. They just believe that you make it once you are into enterpreneurship.most of them thinks that going to school is an act of laziness. this is myopic,babaric and unreasonable. Lets face the fact: those secondarians who didnt attend high institution may be as a result of lack of determination and focus in life. Some give so many reasons why they want to go to school but could not therefore,they go into bussiness as alternative.yet they insult and look down on graduate who despite the heat have the guts to pursue their dream.even the so called graduates who support this motion realy have no clue or focus of what they want to do with their life ,they just pass through school.. Thats why when frustration set in, they now become tools the enemy uses to discourage people and kill peoples dream.if i had join this
forum when i was looking for admission years back i would have given up my school for sure" and will never be in the position i am today.instead of discouraging you from going to school: i advice you to go for ur passion, any tin you love so much should be ur priorities in life.dont ever let what you read on nairaland dicourage you from your passion cus as the year passes you will be the one to regret it.remember the yesteryears when people advice youth to go to school and leave trading, hunting and farming,the reason was cus we feel that people are too jam-pack in those specialiization so we want to reduce the population, now that the scenario is repeating it self those who only pass through school are agitating for continous rotation of policies. Dont be supprised after years now when people ve finally inbibe by skills alone, the next complain will be that the specialization is overpopulated. Please note that am not against enterpreneurship, i too have my own set up bussiness apart from my profession.but i will be the last fool that will discourage people from their passion and dreams,instead of this educated-illitrate to come together and work for equal economic stability that give rooms for all talents development.. What the op does not understand is that consistancy matters alot; there is no assurance that the people u mention will earn the said 'amount' everyday i once work in a construction site were i earn 12k per day but atimes u stay close to 2months wit out work. Pls i advice you not to discourage anybody earning 10k per day it is indeed a gud pay,

History and goverment is one of the elective subject in secondry school especially the art classes. Goverment as the names implies study the affairs and political system of goverment: expecially the modern or present govermental system.history subject study the past,present and feature aspects of governent and its people. History enables critical thinking and reasoning and prepared one for courses such as law,sociology, psycholoy and other causes that have to do with critical reasoning. By this explaination i can boldly state that history is better than goverment because even as you fourther your education to the universities you must do general courses which comprises of history.those courses are Nigeria people and culture, phosophy and logic, Nigeria heritage e.t.c why am writing this is because most of the students prefered goverment to history and i take this as lack of orientation.i also did goverment at my secondry school but when our lecturer wanted to take us on Ninteen century jihad most history students confirm that they did it in ss2. Please take this correction before it is too late

Don't know were to start from.
We Nairalanders especially know what it is to get a CAREER job these days.

After years of thinking, wishing and hoping, I got a job about 4months ago in lagos.

I happily relocated from warri to Lagos in order to start the job.

Sadly, not upto 4 months, I lost the job for strange reasons I just could not understand. The HR started giving me motivational talks that "not that i'm not capable but they have reasons to reduce staff strength... bla bla bla".

It was a fair enough job and I had to start from square 1.

I was just thinking why would God grant me a job and I happily announced it to everyone, relocated to far Lagos and just to loose the job within 2 months.

In all these, God was preparing a plate of fries rice and salad for me.


About 3weeks ago, I posted on nairaland that I was at an interview in VI and that I needed some likes for goodluck.

Today, I just got a new job as an Officer 1 in a leading company in Nigeria at VI.

I know as a lot of Job testimonies are trailing on Nairaland, yours will certainly be next.

Job testimonies will begin to occupy front page even more than celebrity stories.

congrat bro this are stories we loved to read. days ago if you click on nairaland you get discourage about going to school due to unemployment palaver; i still stand on my view thar if you have the oppourtunity to go to school please go; atleast if you have the certificate you have the hope that someday employment will come: but with out it you are hopeless: forget about people shouting and talking about enterpreneur like it does not have it own difficulties; who say a graduate can not do bussiness or lern skills? My advice to the young ones is to do what you love and to also develop two to three sources of generating income;
