I still don't understand what your problem is. You talked about Odi but you forgot what pre-empt FG action(perhaps you don't know). Though I Condemn the action of both the criminals in Odi and the FG in strong terms.

What is your business and problem with who owns oil licence? Oil licence is simply a meal ticket for government allies and their corrupt friends. Our Demand is RESOURCE CONTROL not a common OML.

Whoever call Jonathan drunk fisherman is referring to Jonathan. The election is OVER and we have moved on to the next phase.

I don't know how the above makes one helpless. If you are 'helpful' why not stage a showdown with FG?

I think you are vast with what is happening in the world and we can go ahead to analyse what is happening.

you clamour for resource control, have your clamour reached the 8th house?

the clamour for resource control is dead on arrival until the 5 people giving the mining contract start bring the same amount of money from solid minerals as they get from oil.

you and i know that they will not consider that until it is not necessary to hold on to oil anymore.

so, you guys are still helpless.

next time, start writing letters for resource control so that we will know that you guys are still fighting.

No be pesin wey get money and purchasing power you Igbos dey sell to? Without us spending our too-much-money on those goods, your traders will be out of business in no-time. #FACT!

Bullshyt. Igbos are in Lagos for the same reason they are in Kano, Ibadan, Jigawa, PH and everywhere else in Nigeria -- TO TRADE. Kapish!

Another fantasy from a deranged Yee.boman. There are about 15,000 civil servants in Osun state and these are the only folks affected by the salary crises in a state of over 3-million. In other words, until Osun citizens start migrating to the East for economic survival, they're still better off than your economic migrants all over the SW.

if you really want to start comparing states, please dont compare anambra state and osun state again, please.

there has never been a time since last five years that the igbos complained of hunger and starvation in anambra state.

but osun state has one the highest tears in the world this year. from lawyers, to lecturers.

i remember a lecturer who fainted when he saw his alert to be 150naira, that is to show you how poverty has killed a lecturer in your state.

we will not go into the different sectors of the economy of the state.

almost all the states in the southwest are debt because they have too many people to feed than anything.

The south south region are helpless and that is the pure fact.

you listed a whole lot of things and what is the effect of what isaac adaka boro or what happened to ken saro wiwa? all these men lived in dreams and when real decision were made, those things they fought were taken into obscurity.

how many years did the midwestern region last?

where is the niger delta republic?

You claim to be from south south but i bet you have not really been to the different local governments where oil is been drilled. these people constitute one of the poorest people in this country.

your south south is helpless because if you are powerful as you think and bring senseless history, 80percent of the oil wells will be owned by the people from the region and not from faraway north.

if you think that south south isnt helpless, your brotherly in Udi would not have been killed by obasanjo government.

the south south are helpless because with the northerners drinking your oil wells, no man in the south south have the license to mine gold in sokoto or in osun. but they have license to head the refineries in warri, ph. a northerner is also the md of shell nigeria.

so, you are powerless and helpless. they called your brother a drunkard.

they locked your freedom fighter, asari in an underground prison.

they killed your former freedom fighters.

yes you are powerless and helpless

2 = South South - 25.2% Poverty (+ Average)
3 = South East - 27.36% Poverty (+ Average)

Now since you are bringing information from last year, which state this year did they queued to collect one plate of rice. which state in this country that some churches decided to give some cups of rice to survive?

You know the igbos in your different states are not there to beg but they are there to do business or sell something to someone, that means they are not jobless.

which set of people in this country will you see 10 people clogging in one office and having thesame position.

the igbos come to lagos which is a former capital and where all the monies from the different geopolitical zone contribute to make it what it is today.

people living in any south eastern states are better than the people living in osun at the moment.

we will see the new poverty rate for the 2015, i tell you, the southwest will not smile this year.

the truth is that we need to develop a steel making plant, a crude oil refinery and develop our coal industry. these are three smart investment destination the igbos should put into consideration. this will in no time take the region to an upward surge.

Regional Integration has always been talked about, but never implemented. See our vehicle for regional integration here: http://www.senec.org.ng/senec/index.php
http://www.senec.org.ng/senec/index.php/news/36-news-events/57-imperative-of-south-east-nigeria-economic-commission-senec

Our problem in nigeria isn't a lack of ideas, but we don't implement anything.
The need for a close regional integration led to the SENDEF launching last year headed by Dr. paschal Dozie to source funds for specific key projects. i don't even think they have held any meetings since then! .http://allafrica.com/stories/201411150084.html

We should pursue 3 Agenda;
--1.They should pursue the SENDEF dream they launched last year to pursue precisely what you are saying and secure funding for key regional infrastructure projects.

--2. Develop railway network in the zone.Extend a line from Enugu to Onitsha and another from Enugu - Abakaliki. The FG under Buhari APC won't do it, but we can get individuals to invest and charge toll fee.

--3. Develop the Coal Industry by creating industries using our coal for power generation and steel production etc. Develop the oil and gas sector by creating industries to use the product. Again, the FG under Buhari won't do it, so we need our entrepreneurs to lead the initiative. The way Dangote is investing in refineries and power plants in the north.
We can approach the world bank or AfDB for assistance with the infrastructure funding

South Africa still use their coal powered steam engine train to transport people and goods across that great country. The cross country train ride is also one great tourist attraction in South Africa.

Just imagine if we had a cargo & passenger train with this number of coaches carrying all the agricultural produce, yams, livestock, tomatoes, industrial raw materials etc from the Abakaliki to Onitsha and when its going back, it hauls all the petrol, imported goods etc back. Each of these coaches in the size of one 18 wheeler trailer truck. Imagine how many 18 wheelers were taken off the South African roads just by this single trip. Also a line from PH ONNE seaport to Onitsha via Enugu can haul all the goods from that seaport directly to Onitsha if we extended the present Enugu-PH railway line to reach Onitsha and Abakaliki.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duOWTl7el0g

The second use of the SA rail system is tourism and basic transportation of people around the country.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmjJ4Lzb4oU

My brother, this is what i am saying o!

we need a seaport and from the port, we will have rails running through all the igbo states so that we can keep the integrity of our roads intact. the beautiful thing about the south east is that the different states are not really far from each other, that means it will not cost too much to make it happen.

some european banks and chinese investors are looking for places to invest and we need to show them that if they can partner with the southeast to dredge the rivers and create a railway, they will collect tolls for the next 20years. this toll will be shared between the region and them and with a 4 percent interest rate.

it is important we look ahead of this slow country and fashion a way towards economic survival before surviving becomes difficult.

It occurred to me that if those engineers, having been faced with the bigger challenge of the Panama Canal, were presented with Obuaku (to deepen and expand its waterway to the Atlantic so as to accommodate ocean-going vessels), the engineers would wonder what all the fuss was about and why Nigerian engineers can't handle such a basic project!

If i find the programme on YouTube i'll post it here for all to see!

our distance from the sea is not a problem for engineers. this is one thing our governors and top guns have refused to think. obuaku and onitsha seaport should not be a problem. i just doubt that these people really want to do something about economic revolution of the region.

Ogun currently is the number 1 most industrialized state in Nigeria (attracting over 70 new manufacturing industries in the last 3 years with more still waiting in line for approval), followed by Lag. The SW contributes more non-oil revenue to the commonweal than any other region. The North contributes Agric. Pray tell what SE contributes? ?

SW minus lagos has the same number of states as the SE. People come into the social media without taking so much time to read the news and watch news stations like aljazeera and CNN to see what is happening in the world today but they love to engage in silly arguments with little or no gain.

If we analyse the country very well and check indices, the north does not have a future. How much can be generated in the north against their ever-growing population and high-level of domestic violence and terrorism. the breaking of this country will end the riches of the north and they will return to their counterparts, Niger Republic. How many billionaires does the north have compared to their number of dependent people. Why are northerners shouting agriculture as if they have better soil than tropical rainforest seen in the east and south south?

what natural resources do they have that will make the world want to invest in their region despite the know terrorism in the north. the north does not and i repeat does not have any resources that will make the world want to run to them except increased dependent population. the north doesnt have any close access to the sea and they dont have anything to compare with the southeast. apart from landmass, there is nothing you can plant in the north that cannot be grown in other parts of the country. so whats the fuss?

the southwest only have one saviour which is lagos. without lagos, ogun state will not be getting any form of investment from investors. so what are we saying. If there will be any mass exodus of people out of lagos to their different region, the death of lagos will be quick and fast because the southwesterners are known to be highly dependent on their government for anything and cannot do anything without money flowing from the government house. check their ministries and see how 10 people will be manning one particular position because they all want to eat from the government. If you have stayed in the southwest, you will know that the flow of currency goes down towards the middle of the month because many people have spent most of their monies in the beginning of the month and there is no purchasing power in the hands of the populace.

So, trying to insult other tribes thinking you are better is like you forgetting where you are coming from. the affluence of few cannot be used to judge the whole population of okada riders and shoe shiners in the different parts of the country. or are you trying to forget the number of water carriers in the different parts of the country?

the igbos are still the only tribe with more evenly spread wealth amongst its populace with little dependence on the government. they also constitute the highest number of people who get money from across the shores of this country. they are also known to be the people who introduced china, lebanese and some other investors to the nigerian market. they also constitute the highest number of non-oil based billionaires in this country. with the back drop of the civil war, they have emerged as one of the highest number of educated people in this country.

if you want to know more, check your different private schools and check the number of igbos who enrolled in those schools and check the number of other tribes there. the igbos just need to get their things together and you will see what will happen in the next 20years. its no boast.

The importance of a seaport in SE can not be over emphasized. Having a functioning seaport seated in that region is synonymous to an economic revolution, in the sense that Igbos can do business with other part of the world without the involvement of other regions in Naigeria...

Look at someone who is reasoning like me. A seaport in the east is the economic revolution of the east. since we the igbos do business with the sea, it is necessary for us to have our own waterways.

this will push many igbo businessmen back home with immediate effect.

It's really shocking to know that Northerners own Onne seaport. This is one of the reasons I encourage our people to invest outside of their region too. Business is all about risk. Insurance companises are there to minimize risk

The goal of igbo investing outside igboland is to produce revenue (through taxation) within our region. Someone beautifully suggested that the Headquaters of all igbo companies must be located in Igboland. Now if company A with head office in igboland invests in Kaduna or Kebbi for example, it mean that the overall profit of the company will grow. This profit will be sent back to igboland resulting to more revenue for state government. Other benefit is that the company will have more market for their goods and services. Our State governors like Willie Obiano,Nyesom wike, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Okezie Ikpeazu
,Ifeanyi Okowa etc should focus on attracking these Head offices to Igbolang.

Lagos,Kano , Kaduna and Abuja have one of the largest growing Middle class population in the in SW,North and Middlebelt respectively and provide us with large consumer populations. Our companies must sread in these places and bring profit back home. Indigenous companies like Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing and others must spread fast before the markets become saturated

You are very right. Investing home does not in any way means that our businesses will runaway from other parts of the country. its like a country sending a missile from its country to another country. let the east be the launching pad and let other people feel our presence. what i am trying to say is that, let only our traders and distributors be in these states while our production units and technical team be in the east.

this will reduce the number of dependent igbos in other parts of the country and have only the working class and other people making the region proud through business and ideas there. we will create jobs for our people in our land and have our revenue within our shores. so there will be net in take of revenue into the region than out of the region.

The bane of the Blackman is myopia/shortsightedness and quick-fix to problems
Every state/region in Nigeria has squandered real opportunity for development.
The govs with SE inclusive lacked foresight and most had no economic plan.
Assuming the SE region had an economic team by 1999 with foresight , with focused investment in 3 critical areas such as transportation(railway system and a seaport), agriculture and industrialisation by now region would have been a haven for foreign investors.
I believe that if each governor contributes about 100 million Naira per month since 1999 towards a railway system that will effectively link each of the five eastern states , that by now the project would have been very advanced if not completed.this would have brought regional integration , ease in the movement of goods within the region and would have been the preffered means of transportation as all federal roads in the region is in state of disrepair.
With current decline in global oil prices, most state are running helter skelter seeking for funds to pay ordinary salary with absolutely no money to engage in any serious infrastructural development. The future is really bleak.
I pray that God would give us a second chance.

this is what I have been saying in this thread. Our governors need to take economic leap and do the undone and make things happen. we have to look into regional economic integration and make things happen or else we will keep begging investors to come home. If we had economic plan like you said, i think the economic activities in the regional will have grown by 700percent by now. it is regional economy or we will later run helter skelter for help.

If anyone followed the UN climate change, you will understand that oil isnt going to be anywhere close to coming up again. People have grown wiser now.

Are you suggesting we then live in carnage and anarchy because the legal system is not perfect? Even Britain with one of the oldest and most advanced legal systems still battles its own demons.

arresting someone without questioning isnt the legal way of doing things. having an absentee judge is not 21st century practice. allowing things like to fester for this long is the best way to uphold the so-called judiciary system. there are ways things are meant to be done and we all will see it as justice and fairness.

the DSS thought that what they did with other freedom fighters will be done on this man but they did not know that the support base of this man is way more than the other people they have dealt with.

since the man has not caused any physical harm on any man in the country, what they should have done is call him for questioning and warn him to desist from the hateful messages. but he was detained and been deprived of fair hearing. is that the way UK government handles these issues too?

While you might be disposed to running in circles over a clear issue, the facts are sacred and the law is supreme.

Nnamdi Kanu is liable for treasonable felony against the Nigerian state under Chapter 6 (Subsection 42) of the CCA 1990 by calling for a violent secession, and inciting violence against other tribes and innocent Nigerians such as Pastor Kumuyi. He is captured here calling for guns and bullets to fight the Nigerian state.

Justice must prevail.

after quoting the law, do you mean the law is for some set of people while other people seem to be above the law? you sure know the answer to my question. it is when some people do not have federal backing, they become people under the law but when some cabals say or do things, they appear above the law.

The Nigerian government headed by different illiterate individual made a stupid decision by arresting a man who's only offence is talking and insulting a country which almost all the citizen abused in the last dispensation. I dont know how what he said is different from what the present leader of this country said in 2011 and not been tied to the jail gates?

Nnamdi Kanu might not have used the right choice of words by your standard but its not different from what Buhari and Asari had said in the past and they had even gone further to hatch their plans and nothing happened. Nnamdi had always called for maiming of different individuals but the truth is that he had been tactically ignored when it came to violence. But the lack of research from our security personnel have shown that we dont know how to keep our country safe and we have a very long way to go to keep the different ethnic group in one piece.

the truth still remains that the way the protester conducted themselves by destroying some properties of some businessmen was not good at all. I dont have any problem with my people protesting but burning or destroying other people's properties is uncalled for. what you dont want other people to do to you, dont do it to others.

peaceful protest all the way and everything will go well.

learn a lesson today, never kill a man who introduced an ideology, the death of that man will not end the ideology. it will only make the ideology well-known and consider the man a martyr.

If you check the list of all the people who were killed due to the ideology they introduced to this world, you will see and unending devotion towards that ideology.

the death of our Lord Jesus did not kill the ideology of christianity. it only aided the ministry.
the death of the first bokoharam leader did not kill the ideology of the bokoharam, it only spurred it.

the war against ideology is not fought with the sword. it is only fought with superior ideology but the worst part is that, the nigerian government do not have the superior ideology to bring down this uprising.

i think the future is here.
