You have spoken well my brother. There is a need for massive reorientation of our brothers.
It is not about building beautiful in igboland
Yes we have indigenous companies with massive room for growth but my concern the the capital human flight.
We more and more people to settle in there academic states after graduation.

They fail to understand that fighting other people doesnt make them leave you. have you seen when shouting killed a mosquito? it is through strategic planning and economic development that something will happen for us. Not this emotional swinging of hands

Is there a secret the pro-secessionists know that they are not telling us?... Please my brother, kindly explain how or why you believe bad leadership will be non-existent or will miraculously disappear once we separate?...

This fantasy reasoning keeps baffling me but everyone just believes this 'sweet talk' but no one has an explanation as to how it can be achieved. Is this just wishful thinking or is it a case of strong FAITH or are there actually underground works in place to achieve this?... If it can be achieved after a separation, why can this secret strategy not be achieved today before this separation?... Why must we suffer and wait till we separate before we apply this holy grail to good governance?... and if we had visionary and sensible leaders in the SE, who said a viable seaport wouldn't have been built long ago?... Oh lest I forget, Mazi Kanu gave the answer to this question in America recently, he told our youths that it is ndi ugwu awusa na ndi ofe mmanu that are responsible for ensuring we keep choosing bad leaders in the SE. No wonder our youths have jumped into the streets chanting hate slogans with a full belief that the moment we 'Change our Name,' things will automatically be all right. It's a pity!

This is what I am trying to say. The country is been built for corruption. The setting will always breed corruption. When you approach a particular the wrong way, there bound to be problems. the sharing formular of wealth in this country makes it easy for corruption to linger and very difficult to tame.

for example, an hausa man knows that after 8 years, they will not come governance, what will he do? he will take his time and deal with the economy, so that his people will not blame him that he didnt favour them. that is how the whole economy is been run. why do you think people fight for their own people to be in power? it is for this same reason. there is no element of patriotism in the hearts of the people running this country.

The major reason I think this country should is basically because the economy cannot carry its people anymore. if you continue to drag this thing, it will come to a time when you be able to feed. Even if they diversify the economy, what do you think the other region will say? it will be another set fighting and corruption from the other people in that region.

the cycle will go on and on. if you complain about corruption in nigeria, the people where the so called president is coming will attack you and cite many leaders from your tribe that is also corrupt. the problem is too much.

exactly! Those are igbo settlements with ijaw elements. People from the riverine ijaw communities bordering these towns often ventured into these places to trade. Eventually, a significant number of them fell in love with the place and decided to stay behind.

Read about the emergence of the opobo kingdom from reputable book and see why opobo is igbo speaking.

all this people just keep saying rubbish up and down, they would say igbos that dont speak the central igbos are not igbos as of ijaws have one common language, ijaws are allowed to have some cultural and language difference but are allowed to be Ijaws while igbos that even speak same language with other igbos are not allowed to be Igbos, they would say igbos dominated them in the former eastern region, igbos took the land because of there huge population, even uptil today they still refer to ikwerres as igbos then imagine back then when there was no rivers state or abia or imo state, was it not obvious that when they said igbos dominate them they meant all igbo speaking groups even the present ikwerres they saw them as the enemies dominating them, an ikwerre man would tell u he came from Benin that the only reason for igbo presence in ikwerre is because of trade and proximity, akwa ibom people have been there for centuries they didnt loose there language to us even cross rivers people have been there for hundreds of years they didnt loose there language to us even ogonI people as small as they are didnt loose there language to us but them they mysteriously came from Benin left there Benin langauge, they saw ijaws that they traded with they didnt adopt ijaw language, saw akwa ibom and ogoni in there western corner it didnt influence them but igbo language mysteriously entered there culture... is it not funny.

When you listen to the points they give in this forum, you wont help but ask if these people went to school or they just got educated from a roadside mechanic. I dont usually comment on such senseless threads because they end up killing my intelligence level because whenever i see people talk like that, I feel sad about the next generation of some people.

One man can make a whole tribe speak his language in opobo? He forced everyone in opobo to speak his language there? They will not read history where other people read history but they will cite one blog and call it history of our people. Even when they read normal history, they refuse to picture the happenings of then and make sense in what is happening. but they love living in denial.

Lets say the binis left their kingdom to come to the now ikwerre land like the story claimed, but they refused to cite in the story that the man that was running away saw some people where he started living. So, they told us that the only man who left bini started giving birth kids while other people he met stopped living and expanding. They became barren and lost the penile organ. the way people think in this forum is as a result of lack of critical thinking.

Their revered asari dokubo said that, rivers state is a battle ground which the hausa/fulani people created to cause trouble between the igbos and the minorities. why cant they join the remaining ijaws in the state with their brothers in bayelsa since bayelsa is an ijaw state. they didnt do it, they want to cause more troubles for themselves. the Ijaws are always been known to be riverine people, while attach them to upland people? to cause problems?

they have big problems and they dont even know how to solve it.

I am just watching all this ediots talking rubbish, I ve been patient because of my anti-biafra stance but they keep taking us as fools they would quickly jump and say Oyigbo is part of Niger delta they forget that when the abandoned property law was passed in Rivers state oyigbo people also suffered the consequences too same with egbema people who used to be part of old east central until the Obasanjo boundary adjustment, even that mumu hopeathand spilling rubbish about Ekpeye, ikwerre people no support Biafra no mean say Ekpeye people no support am, ekpeye people actively partaked in the war but everybody moved on after 1970, let them keep giving themselves false hope should I give u link of when the rivers state government tried to force ibani language on an igbo speaking community in opobo, the list goes on. I am a strong advocate of one Nigeria because I know whats on board and how we can het our way, lemme not talk further... not everything should be said on social media.

the truth is these people rely on the one nigeria to hold stake on every igbo land in rivers state. they want to lay claim of the lands in rivers state. these people are minorities but they come on social media to form majority ethnic group in rivers state. if they were the majority ethnic group in the state, why havent they produced a governor in the state.

things like this we just ignore based on maintaining decorum in this forum. No need for fight for our land.

The same way in which Jigawa receives more allocations than it pays to the centre is the same way the SE states receive more allocations than they pay to the centre so this your last question really has no basis. It is the SS that feeds the entire nation; if any group should be protesting that states like Jigawa receives allocation, it is the SS states. If the FG stops sharing monthly allocations and implements 100% resource control, the SE states together with almost other states in Nigeria will be poorer.

I am still yet to hear an explanation from anyone about how things will be better for the SE following secession especially if the SS isn't involved. If there is any wonderful thing that can be done overnight to raise the income, I wonder what stops such from being implemented now by the individual SE states and I wonder why we must wait till we create an international boundary from Nigeria before such ideas are brought forward or implemented.

Every oil producing state gives more than it receives from the federal government. Meaning Imo and Abia states are shortchanged. Why will Jigawa receive more allocation than Abia state when it gives more to the federal purse than the state.

Removing bad governance which I believe will non-existent in Biafra, the igbo people will do well if they secede. If you really want to know about the southeast, you will know that the region has very high human capital development. And if the proposed seaport comes to life, we will do well on our own than this union. There are many indications showing that we will not lack if we secede from this country. it is no boast

You got the answer. Anytime we have no one to blame we sit down and chart a course to success. There will be internal squabbles for sure but it will not hinder progress because of the competition spirit the separation will generate.

If you check yourself, you will find out that your best shot at success has been when in a healthy competition. That doesn't you have no distraction but because your more focus.

I believe the most crucial stimulant to the success of each nation that will emerge from this nation will be the healthy competition that keep all on their toes. Each will be trying to develop more than others which will help swallow up the internal rancor on a larger scale.

Why Nigeria is not moving forward is because we pride ourself as giant of Africa. Look at these African nation who we see as no where near civilization raising the bar of development higher than we can. This is the secret of china. Rising from the dust to challenge the almight western Nations.

Separation will be a big blow to us but will be the beginning of the rise of the black man. We have to compete with ourselves before we can compete with the west.

You have made so much sense bro.

Is the low allocation or low income caused by the other tribes in Nigeria?... What are south eastern leaders doing collectively to increase the collective income of their states?... As a matter of fact, if we begin to practice true federalism today with full resource control, the 5 south eastern states will crumble just like many other states in Nigeria and the no single state would be able to pay salaries.

If we talk of little revenue, was it not the same little revenue that great men like Dee Sam Mbakwe received in the 80's yet he was able to turn Imo state to small London?... Now without any reasonable effort being made to generate revenue by our leaders, without any reasonable effort being made to manage the little revenue being received, without any reasonable effort to judiciously use the little resources to better the life of south easterners, our dubious present day leaders have succeeded in deceiving the people and shifting attention from themselves to 'other tribes' as the problem of our development even while they continue to pillage and plunder the meagre resources.

Now we suddenly believe that the moment we break away from Nigeria (without addressing this leadership issue first), then everything will miraculously turn around. When we break away, then at that time we will start to hold our leaders accountable, when we break away, our leaders will then miraculously start being proactive, when we break away, we will automatically/miraculously start generating more revenue. In fact just recently, Nnamdi Kanu in the US made a statement that it is ndi awusa na ndi yoruba that have been planting all our bad Igbo governors and leaders since 1999, and a lot of our youths swallow such trash and run into the streets. It really shocks me how people can open their eyes widely but cannot see or diagnose what the real problem is.

Sam Mbakwe tried in his own capability to bring the state to limelight but you will not zero the fact that low allocation and little or no federal presence contributes to the state the south east is at the moment. If you look at how they will be forced to pay workers and also pay for other recurrent expenditures, you'll know it is only smart investment that can only bring the east from the shithole it is at the moment.

like i said the other time, the southeast governors are fools and do not know how to manage funds except for what Peter Obi did in anambra state. The rest have been stupid and they have been killing themselves for small revenue. They have seen that they cannot do much, instead if investing the little they have, they expressly launder the rest and run away.

Now, let me ask this question, what is the economic importance of Jigawa state in Nigeria that it receives higher allocation than many southern states.

This country is a mess as it is. Nothing can be done about it. An igbo man cannot assure you that he will protect a yoruba man in the time of trouble, vice versa. It is meaningless to believe we can truly have patriotic 'one nigeria'. how can we be one when our thinking, our home training and our beliefs are different. what an hausa man thinks is different from what an ijaw man thinks.

how can this country grow when major decisions are done basically on tribal lines?

how can this country grow when the resources that feeds this country can only be gotten from a particular region and one region having the most use of it?

how can this country grow when a particular person becomes president, he only favours people from his region because he doesnt trust neither does he know anyone from the other region.

how many countries in the world that are made from different tribes from its inception and still share thesame central president?

how can this country grow when other people do not think but rather depend on other people to think for them so that they can copy?

how can this country grow when the easiest way to be a millionaire is for you to be beautiful and contest for a beauty contest?

a country with no regard for education and human capital development

a country who do not understand that the present method of education will build bunch of failures and dependent organisms.

a country with low thinking ability, who thinks that only lagos port can feed the whole country because they want to reduce the economical importance of other regions.

a country so stupid where we only vote for people who say rubbish and promise to give us our normal rights as citizens of this country.

how can we youth see this country as one, how can we youth make this country grow when as at the age of 30, we are still treated as youths and we cannot find our way to the decision making seat of this country.

how can this country grow when the pyramids of kano, the cocoa pyramids are nothing but what we only saw in our social studies text books.

Do you think our leaders are the problem? No, they are not the problem of this country. the way this country is modelled, it will not succeed.

Good thing that you are aware it is the government that has failed us, and not 'other tribes' as is always peddled. This government we talk of is made up of people from every single tribe, yet for political convenience and through decades of political manipulations, we have been deceived to believe that the failure of our governments (at the local level) is caused by forces from other tribes. How we have swallowed this lie for decades and allowed it to sink into our psyches is what I term, 'mental slavery.'

If you carry out your investigations meticulously, you will realise that not only does every other tribe in Nigeria suffer from the same injustice the Igbos suffer from but also, the main actors behind the injustice (in the case of infrastructural neglect in the SE) are actually some dubious unpatriotic Igbo leaders who go to Abuja to oil their pockets only. Until we purge our minds of the effects of these decades of misdiagnosis and look inwards, we will never be able to see this glaring fact.

In my opinion, the biggest problem faced by Igbos are Igbo leaders (at the local and national level). Until we learn to look inwards and channel this revolution to tackle this local problem, we will be wasting our time if we continue to fight outsiders. Even if a separation is achieved without FIRST tackling this problem of unpatriotic dubious leaders, Biafra would be nothing but chaos. Before we start talking of what 'others' are doing to us, we must first talk about what we are doing to clean our own house.

An eastern region with very low allocation should be as developed as other states who have higher allocation. how many roads can 1.2 billion repair in a month with other recurrent expenditures? how much will julius berger and other construction companies accept for building roads in the east? Some of the roads that are federal government roads while others are state government roads.

i am not holding brief for the different stupid governors in the east who are more or less illiterates in the management of funds and use of their intellectual capabilities. they have failed to used their brains to think of ways to generate funds rather than waste it.

the current setting doesnt help and will not help.

Setaje:
The Black Man's Propensity To Always Fight The Wrong Battle.
CASE STUDY: (BIAFRA)

As a young Nigerian Woman, I have always wondered if there is something inherently wrong with the black mind. I have often tried to understand what exactly is our utmost desire and why most of the time, our emotions are much greater than logic.

The Biafran struggle is not an Igbo struggle but also a black man's struggle. Our wants most of the time are largely driven by our emotions at that moment and never for the good of humanity. The Biafran dream is a pipe dream that can never be achieved unless the agitators channel their anger to the right direction. As different as we are in Nigeria, we have so many similarities that makes us stand out. A Northern Nigerian is very different from the people in Niger and Chad like wise an average Nigerian seems to stand out in a group of different Africans. The difference is the Nigerian spirit.

I don't believe in co-incidences. It is an Atheist definition of Destiny. We are Nigerians because it was meant to be. We are in the same Country due to a much greater power and reason beyond human comprehension. Our differences is our beauty. Our differences is what makes Nigeria colorful. An average Nigerian has the same hopes and struggles as a "biafran". We all have the same dreams. We all experience the same kind of pain and annoyance. No Nigerian has it easy because he belongs to a particular tribe and even the hausas that ruled Nigeria for many years, their people have nothing to show for it. We Nigerians from different tribes need each other because we are fighting the same struggle. We need each other because we compliment each other. The hausa man is very comfortable in agriculture, the Igbo man is very comfortable in his business, just provide a good environment for his business to thrive, the yoruba man loves knowledge. Many other minority groups are linked to the three major tribes. Add all this strength and you will get a prosperous economy. What is life without food, business and knowledge?

Nigeria is in a bad state because the citizens are fighting the wrong battle. Just as other black nations Like South sudan, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, South Africa and their killing of foreigners. Etc. Whatever an igbo man is going through is the same thing for a yoruba man and an hausa man. No free food, no free shelter and no free health care. Each ethnic group has it representatives in the federal level, state level and local government level. In jonathans government the igbos were well represented yet their leaders could not help in speeding up the completion of Niger bridge or the erosion menace in the south east. Who do you blame for this? The government or your government? Isn't it going to be the same friends and relatives of the "Zoo" that will rule in Biafra? The yorubas had nothing to show for years with obasanjo as the president. The only sense of belonging to an average Nigerian is when their people of the same ethnic group are in the government. That is a misplaced sense of judgement. Equal representation does not mean development.

So What exactly are the Biafran agitators fighting for? What have they put in place in their economy that an average igbo man would look up to? What would happen to the businesses and properties outside the east? Would food become cheaper by having biafra? Would houses become cheaper? Would roads be constructed? Would the Niger bridge be built? Would erosion stop? Would the igbos stop living the south east in their thousands because the government is doing nothing.

•If the ipob youths both in Nigeria and abroad can come out to demonstrate against the Igbo leaders the way they demonstrated against the Nigerian government for the detention of Nnamdi Kanu, that is the beginning of our revolution.

•If kidnappers start kidnapping politicians and their wives and children for a huge ransome, instead of kidnapping ordinary Nigerians who work tooth and nail to get to where they are with no help from the government whatsoever, that is the beginning of our revolution.

•If Bokoharam started years ago by killing the Northern politicians that have deceived their youths, stolen their common wealth and use religion to deceive them into not aiming high in life. That would have been the beginning of our revolution.

But, like the black man and his inherent nature to always fight the wrong battle, we would keep making the same mistake. What you cannot get out of Nigeria, you cannot get it in Biafra.

I'm sorry, please calm down and do a thorough research on what is happening in this country and see if there is a way forward.

please do it, first before you reply my mention

Since we are educated and devoid of emotional attachment when it comes to decision making. Biafra should be like a project which we work towards to make it feasible without attaching hatred for particular tribe or people. We should work towards bringing people together and making them see the reason why these things are been done rather than hate a particular set of people and still want those people to support you. it is wrong.

take it or leave it, if you dont have any world leader supporting your course, you will protest from now till eternity, nothing will happen. we better tell our brothers who are saying they're going to die for biafra that they should desist from saying such things and channel their energies in preaching love and togetherness in the heart of igbos. so that they can bring the different igbos of different orientation together and let them see the light in this project. they should also channel their energies towards developing the east.

I am no hater of any tribe. but the truth remains that the country cannot carry itself even with diversification. the population growth doesnt commensurate with the developmental growth. You will be surprised with the increased death of hausas and soldiers in the north, the population are been replenished by the day by wayward living.

the truth remains that, the best thing for everyone is for the country to divide and everyone fight for itself. Have you watched what bokoharam is doing to our soldiers up north? do you think it will end anytime soon? Have you been to the north or the north central?

Nigeria's population is over 170million with only oil as our resources. the resources that its price is dwindling by the day. By the time oil price drops to 10dollars per barrel, that is when we will all understand the consequence of what we are seeing in this union. I am an IPOB fan and I dont want the division of this country to happen now because our brothers are not ready for the division of this country.

what i am actually saying is that we should start getting ready for the inevitable because when it comes, it should not happen like a movie. the problem about the east is that we have not made it an economic centre where we can do things and provide amenities ourselves without the help of the federal government. championing the economic liberation of the igbo land will go a long way in making our dream come to pass.

the dependency on resources is too much and it is very unhealthy.
