AgentMS:Good one but your statement wasn't entirely true. Festus Okotieboh and Ironsi were part of the people to be killed. Ironsi was the head of the military then, so he had people to guard him more than the other rulers. Okotieboh was killed who was from South East/south south of today. Azikiwe was not with them when the massacre was made like Awolowo was in prison when the whole thing started. Led by the igbo officer but with other regions as supports. We had a yoruba and an Hausa as part of the coupists. So, you mean the people taken to kill Tafawa Balewa were igbos? No, there were northerners there too. For your information, Nigerians begged the Military to disrupt the democratic system where all these people were eating our and buy fleets of cars abroad, so the young soldier took the matters into their hands. Ironsi wasn't killed because he escaped death and ordered soldiers in Lagos to mount guard for him and he chased the coupists out of the capital. He was afraid all the time he was in power because the coupists have all ran to the north for protection, some out of the country. Making sounds of machine guns? Oh please! The Nigerian nation did not feed Nigeria. How sensible will a country feed another people he is fighting against, they only stopped the supplies of food. If the Hausa kill 30,000 yorubas, you will embrace the survivors and continue with one country see that they didn't want to stop at nothing to exterminate the whole tribe in the north. 15 mercenaries making Nigeria shiver? Lmao! The soldier were getting fatter, did u see the faces of the soldiers who fought the war after they finished fighting it? The feeding of Biafra was not the problem before Nigeria asked cameroun to block Bakassi. |
IGBOSON1:Nigeria has always been a weak country. Chad is stronger |
omololu2020:Nigeria as a country will call 15mercenaries under the payroll of Ojukwu as help? These mercenaries were from different parts of the world not necessary Israel or France. We had a south african there too. For the weapon help, the only time the French sent weapon thru the cameroun border was in 1968 before they told to discontinue the help to the Biafran people because Nigeria had had a meeting with other African nations to stop people from seceding in their various countries so that they won't have mushroom countries. I am tired of the civil war talk |
omololu2020:I think u got a biased information about the war. Please, get more facts about it. |
OrlandoOwoh:A war you couldn't win fair and square without the help of world power is no war won. Its like Biafra was fighting 4 nations, 3super-powers and a country. If Biafra could hold their own in the war for 3years, with little help from France which was later stopped by the other super-powers, then give kudos to them. Nigeria Generals committed genocide |
omololu2020:How is crimea my concern? We're talking about a people been butchered like meat in a country they think they're a part of and decided to secede and you say I should compare crimea situation and Biafran situation? They are not the same. |
OrlandoOwoh:The Steiner u mentioned was a paid mercenary and not any help from France. France only came to our aid when they saw how super-powers were feeding Nigeria with weapons. Understand something about this war, the USA and UK knew that it will be difficult to lay their hands on Biafran Oil if we got the independence our way, so they helped Nigeria. For your knowledge sake, the Arewa people wanted to secede first before they were urged not to try that way except they want to be a fourth world country. So, it was game of interest to the whites. Feed Nigeria weapons while feed Biafra drugs that are too heaven for them. |
IGBOSON1:The Hausa/Fulani are getting the fair share of what they started. This country has always been against the igbos. |
Mynd44:The actual declaration of war was when 30,000 igbos were killed in the north. |
Mynd44:The Nigerian army were the ones who brought the fight to the Biafran door step, Biafra didn't go and fight against them. The turning point was when the Biafran army began to lack weapons and food supplies. You should know that America and United Kingdom were supplying Nigeria weapons while they were supplying Biafra medical supplies. |
Mynd44:It was bad because you can see the outcome now. But you know some people have won wars with lesser military strength but higher military tactics. There was a time the Biafran army were having a good time with the Nigerian army. So, we can't conclude that the Nigerian army had the better chance all the time the war was fought. I have the documentary on the war, that's why I am telling you that the Biafra had their chance when they chased the Nigerian army down to Ore. |
Mynd44:I get you, but no one stops war when he has a chance of chasing. |
Mynd44:We'll take our chances. All these decisions would've been taken with proper research on best moves to take. |
Mynd44:The Nigerian army had the advantage of numbers and facilities but the Biafran army had the advantage of patriotism. Like I said earlier, the war wasn't fought to be won. There were some background work on how to find possible ways of looking for sovereignty which some igbo elites wanted to do. And it was also a two way thing, if we had policed the Delta region well, the war would've ended in a stalemate whereby we would've used the delta sea for weaponry transaction and oil business (which was about to boom then). So, in all we wanted peace through violence. Though it didn't work out the way we planned, Ojukwu acted like a father who's children were sent away from the playground. |
Mynd44:You might think that fighting wasn't the right path to take but the available option on ground then, fighting was best. How do you explain almost 30,000 igbos killed in the north? These men were out to exterminate them from the north and they said we should remain as one? Who does that? If not for the help of "super-powers" supporting the Nigeria end, we would've atleast created a border to hold them away. I think that was the plan. The war wasn't fought to defeat Nigeria, but atleast create a border to stop them till we find a way to create a proper sovereignty. |
Mynd44:Yes, based on the fact that they were fighting 1 against 4. But you will still give them a plus for pushing the Nigerian army as far as Ondo. It wasn't a war to win, it was a war to be free. |
Happy Birthday man, the 2.7billion dollars deal we agreed last week. Your accountant has refused to transfer the said amount to my account. Do well and reach him. Once again happy birthday |
Mynd44:For humanitarian reason, yes. The Biafran army had a fair chance a year before the end of the war. |
Nice. Now your story dan change like APC |
Some years back, he would've ignored such malicious comments about him but now, he is showing traits of a scared little baby. |
Don't mind him, Danjuma has passed the age of making sense. |
