Syncan: I'll rather he come and finish what he started.Yeah. |
he's drivin at a possibility of miracles not workin on mary cos she didn't ff instructions in d past hence she was tellin em do what he asks u to do from xperience. # baseless speculation!
If so, I agree with the bolded. |
lol...took a leave off NL during d weekend? missed u anyways....btw wah happened to your okotie's thread?
Yeah, kinda. I'm getting addicted. It wasn't my thread. I guess the Mods put it down cause someone posted it earlier. |
jdilight: Jesus began his ministry after 30 long years. His ways are not our ways. That was His plan, we shouldn't question it. |
and that would be outta envy or wah a shallow mind? u see? told u dah guy has a phD at getting me peeved up!
I see. ![]() |
macof: One questionI didn't quote from the Old Testament. Christ said we should. Are you a Christian? |
sounds like a diplomatic way of passing an insult
![]() |
jdilight: This likely is a good opinion than she knew from prophecy or being told by angels.I don't understand your point. |
okeyxyz: Nice piece, except that this part does not actually give an answer as to how we shall now conduct ourselves given that we are no longer under the law:I hope you believe in sin. Your definition of the Holy Spirit is wrong. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter Christ promised, He is not a doctrine. Don't get it all wrong and remember what Jesus said. IF your righteousness doesn't surpass those of the Pharisees, you can't get into heaven. Matt. 5:20 |
jdilight: Jesus has been performing miracles in secrets which mary witnessed and believed. Are you okay with that? |
frosbel: You contradict yourself, one minute you say the law is abolished ( which includes the tithe by the way ) ,and the next minute you are preaching the law of tithe.Christ said we should. I didn't say it, Christ said it. That's why we should be beware of wolves in sheep clothing. |
Nice one. Now I have to figure out a way to tell my mum this. Lol
![]() |
Stluke92: hello my brods n sistas pls cheak dis verses in d bible n den comment ....james4:4, 1john 2:15-17 n proverbs 14:12 thanksIn summary, abstain from worldliness. So your definition of worldliness is wearing trousers, earrings and make up? How knowledgeable! |
jdilight: The angel didn't tell her Jesus could do miracle, did he?I said the angel told her who Jesus was. And from the prophecies of old you'd see that this Saviour promised is indeed great. Read Luke 1 To explain further, Mary also knew He could perform miracles because he actually did. Living Translation John2:4 In response to Mary's request, He said, "I can't help you now, it isn't yet my time for miracles." In vs. 11 "This miracle at Cana in Galilee was Jesus' first public demonstration of his heaven-sent power. And his disciples believed that he really was the Messiah." That means he had bee performing miracles before that day. |
frosbel: ^^^ Gombs: Your opinion doesn't matter... God's does!... |
jdilight: How did mary the mother of Jesus knew that jesus could turn water in wine.Because she knew who he was. The angel told her, go figure. |
frosbel: No, you should not titheI don't farm, the only income I get is money. Yes, we should tithe. It's for the Kingdom's work. And the blessings of God concerning tithing still stands (if you want it). |
Pastor Olu T: Well written @op, God bless u real good.Amen. God bless you too. |
Candour: God bless you for this piece indeed.Amen. God bless you too |
Pastor Olu T: God bless u @ op for that eye opener for many, it is so appalling how many go about preaching ladies will go to Hell for wearing trousers n all.Very appalling. |
Happy birthday.. |
Living translation Matthew 23:23 "Yes, woe upon you, Pharisees, and you other religious leaders-hypocrites! For you tithe down to the last mint leaf in your garden, but ignore the important things-justice and mercy and faith. Yes, you should tithe, but you shouldn't leave the more important things undone." Christ said we should tithe, and that's under the new covenant. |
haibe: Yes no bitterness of any sort, the brother is just one of those matured and loving christians I have met, I guess he is convinced now as regards this issue because he called me some days back saying I enlightened him as regards the trousers issue. That's just beautiful. |
Nomski0: I love this! Very mature arguement....and kinda funny.Yeah it is. Anger or resentment was not shown. How I wish all Christians could converse like this. |
This truth you've spoken here is what most Christians need to hear so that we can move on to a higher level of spirituality instead of dwelling on what to do and what not to do. I'm following and patiently waiting for the opposers of this truth. |
haibe: God bless you too sis..Amen. |
Are the Jewish laws the way of salvation? Are Christians obligated to keep them? Is it really necessary? Can it take us to heaven? Does keeping it make God more pleased with us? This issue even arose in the Bible among the Christians in Galatia. Christians among them were including the Jewish laws into the salvation plan for us from God which is apparent in Christianity today. Obeying the Jewish laws and Christianity doesn’t go hand in hand. If we were to be saved by keeping Jewish laws then there would have been no need for Christ to die to make us right with God. The Holy Spirit isn’t received by keeping the Jewish laws but by believing. The Jews by obeying these laws never had a spiritual life (that is they never received the Holy Ghost or performed miracles), so it makes no sense to say keeping them will make us stronger Christians. Abraham’s real children are all men of faith who fully trust in God. Abraham was declared fit for heaven by God only because he believed God’s promises. The only way we can be right with God is by faith because we cannot keep all the laws (and a curse is on anyone who doesn’t keep all). Christ has bought us out from under the doom of that impossible system by taking the curse for our wrong doing upon Himself. So why should Christians cling to what they’ve been freed from? Why were the laws then given you may ask? The laws were added after the promise was given to Abraham; to show men how guilty they are of breaking God’s laws. But this system of law was to last only until the coming of Christ, the Child to whom God’s promise was. So then, are God’s law and God’s promises against each other? Of course not! If we could be saved by His laws, then He would not have had to give us a different way to get out of the grip of sin. The law was our guide until Christ came to give us a right standing with God. Many Christians then say, ‘Okay, if they say we are not meant to keep these laws, how do we live a righteous life?’ In the book of Galatians 5:16, we are to obey only the instructions of the Holy Spirit. He is our new guide and will always tell us what to do and what not. When you’re guided by the Holy Spirit, you need no longer to force yourself to obey Jewish laws. If we are now living under the power of the Holy Spirit, we should follow his leading in every path of our lives. Then we won’t need to look for honours and popularity, which lead to jealousy and hard feelings. Those teachers who try to convince you to keep Jewish laws are doing it for one reason: so that they can be popular and avoid the persecution they would get if they admitted that the cross of Christ alone can save. And the problem is they don’t keep all but instead pick the ones they like, preach about it and then boast about the followership they get. Read Galatians 6. So to all those on Naira land and Men of God preaching Laws: Do not eat snail or unclean animals, do not wear trouser, make up and blah, keep the Sabbath, circumcise your male, and the likes, you better stop putting people in bondage. Instead pray for the mighty dispensation of the Holy Spirit upon believers who will show them the right path to pleasing God. SHALOM! |
I love how you handled the discussion. God bless you. |
Happy birthday, Divepen. Long life, prosperity and vitality. |
FOOL FINDER: The most annoying people on Religion section have to be Highyo and Obadiah777,they both need serious help with all their sick visions of hell and their classification of everything as sin.I agree with the bolded. |
