DMainMan: how dare u talk to me lyk dat. If u lyk go to d exam hall dat day as mosquitoes and lizards wil b ur invigilatorsDMainman, I must confess that I'm utterly disappointed at your above comment. There is nothing that dude said that warranted those insults from you. You have been of great help to this thread, that is not enough reason for anyone to take everything you say hook, line and sinker! Seriously, you reek of pride and that isn't too good considering the fact that most of us hold u in high-esteem! You could have spent lesser time and energy telling that dude the source of your information than typing all those pride-infested, arrogant words! In my opinion, I think you should apologize to that guy in the spirit of brotherhood and understanding that we share on this thread hitherto. You don't have to follow my opinion though, its your prerogative to do as you wish. Just advising....Respect to you my brother! |
douyeabo: E nor clear say na dem fada head dey take dey play baseball?Mr man, I feel ur pain, but the truth is education officers have been collecting their letters and labour officers are being compiled. Infact, people are still collecting foreign affairs letters dated 4th July 2013. Na naija u dey o......if u know u are far from abuja, get someone who can help u push or monitor these things. Goodluck! |
Someone should tell Sam Amadi to tell Prof. Nebo to convey a message to Namadi Sambo who in turn should inform GEJ that if they continue to increase electricity tariff in this fashion without regards to the common man, what TBJ prophesied will soon become a reality! There is widespread unemployment and poverty, and these people are worsening the whole situation by increasing electricity tariff. Hmm.....soon and very soon, the goat will charge against its owner. |
Lagusta: boss, if u want to buy a tab with gorilla glass, buy an iPad 3 or 4Thanks for your response bro, but the thing is I don't have enough resources at the moment to purchase an IPad 3 or 4. Its about four times the price of Tecno N9. I'll rather buy screen guard as advised. Thanks! panaroma: bro, thats why there is a screen guardThanks brother, that's what I'll do! Get the tecno N9 and get a screen guard. The price of the tecno N9 is too irresistible than for me to ignore it cos it doesn't have A pad with 5MP rear and 2MP front camera, a better resolution than samsung galaxy tab 2, an internal memory of 16gb and sd card of 16gb (32gb in all), recordable fm radio Purchasing a bluetooth earpiece for receiving calls with the N9 pad isn't also a bad idea totally! Techno should consider the scratch-resistant technology in subsequent releases of other pads. I'm subscribing to Tecno till further notice! |
Jraph: yea it is.Pls were you referring to my question about anti-scratch screen? |
Kizyte: I got one Tecno N9 Phantom Tab and it's really nice. I swear, you're not gonna regret purchasing one. Battery lasts longer than I expected. Good functionality. Amazing when it comes to gaming. Comes with a pouch.Heard it comes with 16gb internal space and an extra 16gb SD card. How true is this? Also, from your experience, do you think the screen is scratch resistant? (This is the answer I'm waiting for before I purchase mine). In all their specification list,, they didn't mention anything like anti-scratch screen. I don't want to buy a device with a screen that will look terrible in few months to come! |
Bonny Dominic: (song)We are honouring Mary, we are honouring,we 'r honouring Mary, never worship her, bt pple say we worship her, not at all, everybody join d chorus honour her. We d catholics dont worship Mary, we only ask her to INTERCEDE 4 us just as U out dea run to Ur pastors nd pastres, parent, frnds etc to pray 4 U. Our Mother of heaven nd earth who played a vital role in d salvation of mankind, clothed with d sun, crown with twelve stars, nd under her feet is d moon, presently seated on d throne of Grace,Rev12:1 thru17. Oh mother, 4gv dem 4 dey dont know wat dey are saying. Ask ur pastor d motherhood of Mary,dt is if dey r not fake.Seriously? This s**t is so hillarous! And we are busy accusing another religion of hypnotising its followers with virgins and wine in heaven.......I never really knew *Unfollowing thread immediately* |
lol... pagan madness? and you know this because?.. der u go, interpreting the bible according to your level of ignorance... The Gospel of St. John relates two significant accounts which relate to Mary — the wedding feast of Cana and the Crucifixion. Of the first account we read: “There was a marriage in Cana of Galilee, and the Mother of Jesus was there. And Jesus also was invited, and His disciples, to the marriage. And the wine failing, the Mother of Jesus said to Him, ‘They have no wine.’ And Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, what is it to Me and to thee? My hour is not yet come.’ His Mother said to the waiters, ‘Whatsoever He shall say to you, do ye’” (John 2:1-5). Jesus Christ then proceeded to work His first public miracle at His Mother’s request. Everything related in the Gospels is inspired by God, and there is a reason for it. Does not this narrative of the wedding feast manifest the intercessory power of Mary with Jesus Christ, her Divine Son? In the second account, also take from the Gospel of St. John, we read: “There stood by the Cross of Jesus His Mother... When Jesus therefore had seen His Mother and the disciple standing whom He loved, He saith to His Mother: ‘Woman, behold thy son...’” (John 19:25-27). Just as Eve cooperated with Adam in the Fall of mankind, the Blessed Virgin Mary cooperated with Jesus Christ in our redemption. She “stood by the Cross of Jesus.” What anguish, what sorrow did the Mother of Jesus experience at the foot of the Cross as she witnessed the sufferings and death of her Divine Son! In both accounts, Jesus addressed Mary by the term woman. In Hebrew the word used by Jesus was a term which would be addressed to a queen or a woman of high rank. It was a term of great respect. But why did Jesus Christ address His Mother by the term woman at these two significant moments in His life — at His first public miracle, and at His Crucifixion on the Cross? Our Divine Lord wanted to clearly indicate that His Mother was the Woman spoken of in the Book of Genesis: “I will put enmities between thee (Satan) and the Woman, between thy seed and her seed, and she shall crush thy head.” catholics do not, as Protestants falsely believe, worship the Blessed Virgin Mary. We honor her who was so intimately connected with Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity. Yes, there is only one Mediator with the Father — Jesus Christ. Only the God-Man Jesus Christ could have redeemed mankind. Nevertheless, we pray to Mary that she may intercede for us with her Divine Son. How often we request the assistance of prayers from our fellow men — how much more powerful are the prayers and intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary! In the Old Testament, we read how Moses prayed with arms outstretched and interceded with God to procure the victory of the Israelites over their enemies in a crucial battle. As long as he prayed, they were victorious. When he ceased his prayers, the Israelites began to lose. Because of this, it was necessary for two men to hold up Moses’ arms in prayer until the battle was won. Also, we read in the Old Testament how Josue prayed to God to have the day prolonged in order to win another crucial battle. If Moses and Josue could have such intercession before God, how much more powerful are the prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary!
Congratulations! You just won the IGNORAMUS PAR EXCELLENCE award. What an height of deception? May God enlighten you. That's all! |
panaroma: Got mine own Tecno N9 today!!! ExcitedBro, I also want to get one this week. However, I will like to know if the screen is scratch resistant, that's the only fear I'm having. Also, any one with a good video review of the techno phantom N9 pad should please help me with the link. Thanks! |
kiyosaki1: So matchets and clubs are not arms! Please pardon my mistake! What I meant was they are not armed with guns.....not even local guns. Sorry for the error. ![]() |
Nice one @OP. Well said! Except that part where you said people stay out till late midnight, you exaggerated a bit. From my own experience, by 9pm or 10pm at most, all the streets were deserted coz of the curfew. But of course, the civilian JTF are doing a really great job. I moved freely in Mairi (even up to gate 5) and went to some parts of Gwange without fear. Gradually, Maiduguri is getting back her name "HOME of PEACE". God bless Nigeria! |
9jadelta: thanks. Atleast it's good to have people feeding us realistic report. KudosI appreciate you bro! It saddens me a lot that some people will decide to use this forum and the internet in general as an avenue to spread half-truth and wrong information to the rest of Nigerians thereby creating unnecessary panic and chaos! |
Marotzke: I am sure if not for the activities of civilian Jtf , you would not have set your feet near Maiduguri.. For God's sake Boko haram kill indiscriminately attracting punitive reprisals from the army. these civilian Jtf inconveniences you with thorough searches which is even for your good. why don't you wait for them to get rid of boko haram first before agitating for what will become of them later. I have no problem with their searches and thuggish behavior. it is better than being slaughtered like a ram.Pls help me tell him oh! I was harrased severally in Maiduguri by the so-called military JTF because I didn't have a student ID card (I graduated in 2010), they rfused to recognize my driver's license and extorted money from me on several occassions. But when I encountered the civilian JTF, I was scared initially cos of their appearances and the matchetes with them, but they only asked to search my bag and I obeyed. After which they allowed me to go freely without asking for a dime. On wednesday last week, while I was about leaving Maiduguri, I saw those civilian JTF caught a Boko Haram member and cut off his ear before handing him to the military. It is worthy to note that those civilian JTF don't kill their captives but hand them over to the military. Even the driver who took me to Borno Express park acknowledged that if it wasn't for those civilian JTF, they wouldn't be relative peace in Maiduguri. I have videos on my phone which I captured secretly on my return trip from Maiduguri. It shows how ur so-called military men extort money from drivers and passengers plying the maiduguri-yobe-bauchi route. Too bad I can't post it online for my own safety! |
HAH: I was in maiduguri last week and I saw the so called civilian jtf, to be frank they are just bunch of gangstars and thief whose operation were hindered by boko haram terrorism as well, you see them taking weed openly brandishing dangerous weapons like the interhamwes of Rwanda.Mr Man, don't come here and feed people with half truth. Yes those guys may smoke weed but so does the military JTF. When you say they brandish all sorts of weapons, please be precise on the exact weapons. I was also in same Maiduguri last week, I was searched by military JTf and Civilian JTF also. I can tell you without fear. That the treatment of the civilian JTF to us was more civil than the treatment of the militray JTF who forced me to pay N1,000 because the only form of ID I had on me was my driver's licence.Search your conscience before saying lies please |
I don't believe this story a bit. Civilian JTFs are not armed, not even local guns! They only move about with clubs and machetes. I was in Maiduguri last week, I visited a lot of places in town, I studied their modus operandi and I can categorically say that Civilian JTFs don't hold guns except a new development has taken place after I left Maiduguri. It is worthy to note that the civilian JTFs don't engage armed boko haram members in battle, instead they (civilian JTF) have a way of intelligently picking them one after the other when thy are not in groups! |
avicky: Ishi , u're a nut case. Thanks a lot and wish you goodluck in your decision. Needless to remind you that your decision has to be quick. |
Ishilove: Lmao!I claim it o! Amen.. ![]() |
avicky: Vicope, how was ur trip to Borno? And have u gotten all ur docs?Hello Vicky, sorry 4 the late response! My trip was horrible....not to add that I came back sick. I haven't still recovered fully! I have gotten all the documents and even applied for transcript. However, while at Maiduguri, the officer in charge of sending transcripts made a very silly mistake. He addressed my transcript to John Hopkins School of Public Health, Maryland US instead of to Unilag. I discovered the mistake on the morning when I was to leave maiduguri cos I decided to check on the progress of the transcript before leaving. I made a complaint and he corrected the error, but I couldn't wait for him to send the transcript. I collected his number (though very useless cos mobile networks don't work in Maiduguri currently) and tipped him some money to motivate him. I also paid for courier service instead of the regular postmail so that the transcript could arrive earlier. Despite all these, my mind hasn't been at rest coz I am not so sure that man takes his job seriously. He seemed so non-challant all through. But I had made up my mind to leave maiduguri the day I did (my eyes had seen enough already). Now the big question is: is there a way I can confirm at Unilag PG school if they've received my transcript? I pray my efforts won't be in vain. BTW, what was your final decision as regards the course you initially applied for,but won't be admitting for this year? |
MissYuzedo: Okies am safes in my husband's manshunFinally, Yuzedo don get wife abi na sister! ![]() |
Playgal: Pls, can someone dat is still serving..dat will finish NYSC in October still apply? What will d person upload, since d NYSC certificate is not yet readySorry for the late response. Just came back from Maiduguri. Unfortunately, you cannot apply if your NYSC certificate is not ready yet except of course if you finished from Unilag. |

daroz: In Maiduguri!!! To do what?I obtained my BSc in Unimaid, so I was in Maiduguri to process my transcript and forward it to Unilag where I intend to run my MSc. If there was network availability, I wouldn't have bothered going.....but I couldn't contact anyone cos of the network shutdown. |
karpentar: Didn't he make money from all these productions? Why would he need donations for his illness?During the time when OJB was the bomb (when he was producing 2face, ruggedman, jazzman) in the early/mid 2000s, there wasn't so much financial reward for musical excellence then. Even 2face can testify to the fact that he didn't make good money with Kennis Music. Unlike now, when telecommunications companies and other multinationals endorse these artistes as brand ambassadors. Now, our locals artistes go on foreign tours and live opulent lifestyles. Precise, OJB is known for his production skills than for his singing ability......in a country like Nigeria, where we barely pay royalties to producers but station all attention on the music artiste, you cannot expect OJB to be super-rich! Forget about producers like Don Jazzy, in their cases, the more you look, the less you see (if you understand). In 2003, I remember paying TY mix a paltry sum of N8,000 as production fee....those were the period when Mekoyo and Sunky would charge roughly N14,000 as production fee + studio time fee at C-mountain studios in Abuja. If it were in the US or UK, the amount OJB will be receiving as royalties from the hit songs he has produced alone is enough to make him a multi-billionaire! |
Tuljaking: yepa ur own don finisg profstar: patient Jonathan second, no kill us with your bomb mahleeq: SEE MESS UP, bros? you cant be serious. you don bomb nairaland faa! na JTF you be? chibuike123: u are a huge insult to Nigerian educational systemSee these ones! JJC them wey just join NL.....they no sabi Yuzedo. SMH ![]() |
dexxolydian: hmmmmm sowie oooo bt i tynk u ar stupid 4 askin dis question shay u don hear sai OJB sing Gospel song or Tank God 4 1 of him songs, me no sure sai dis persin na xtian mcheeeeewSeriously, I once thought that those who complained of too many under-aged kids on NL were just being unnecessarily harsh.....now I see what they saw! If you do not know that OJB sang and produced a gospel song titled 'Jah is my light' in an album with same title, then u must have been between 0-5 years when the song was released. I think Seun should ban under 18s from joining NL. |
sexymoma: is he a gospel singer ni? does he produce songs that gives glory to GodGuess you weren't born when he (OJB) released 'Jehovah is my light', a song intended to glorify the name of God. Do your research well before making silly comments. Precise, when did being a gospel artiste become a criteria to receive help from wealthy pastors who ordinarily are supposed to show Christ-like examples of love and giving? I seriously believe you were only joking by your comment.....you definitely are smarter and should know better! |
I was in maiduguri on Tuesday when this event took place. Infact, the Civilian JTF cut off the BH guy's ear. I must really commend those guys for a good job. They are the reason why people like us can travel to maiduguri with a hope of returning safely. Those military personnel are just busy harrasing innocent people. I was a victim of their harrasment but thank God I am out of Maiduguri now. |
hovitox: Uniag....thks for ur help@vicopeU're welcome Sir! |
hovitox: Buh I was told if the school have my transcript den its better than certificate..just curiouse..@vicopeWhich school are you refering to precisely? Transcript is a must...it will be sent directly from your school to the PG school in Unilag because it is not meant to be handled by students. So also is your statement of result/certificate a must submit.... A copy of it has to be submitted alongside other credentials at the dept you are applying to. |
hovitox: Pls is the submition of certificate compulsory b4 17th of july or its just statement of result? Pls I need ASAP answer thksJULY 17th is the deadline for whatever you want to submit. However, if your certificate is not ready, your statement of result can stand in lieu of it, but if you have your certificate, better! |
