if you do someone a favor, allow them reciprocate on their own terms. 'doing a favor ' is not same thing as paying for a service, even if it were, there are limits a service provider can decide to go. If she wanted that extra meat that bad, she should have not bought the food for him, she should have instead, used the money to get extra meat. Atleast I didn't read her say she was forced to buy the food.

Some people don't know how to show appreciation and me na, because I come From a home where we were raised with good manners and taught to be grateful and show appreciation for the littlest things, I always assume and expect everyone to possess such moral values. But it seems majority lack this virtue, reason I acted the way I did today.

There's this butcher i like buying meat from because his is always very tasty and sweet you don't need much seasoning to make your soups and stews any time you use his cow meat but he's always shouting whenever you price his meat. So sometimes I just avoid him but when he sees me in the market he'll be hyping me like..." oyinbo", how far and stuff but when I go to his stand again he'll start shouting if I price.

So, today, as I was approaching the meat section, he started hyping me again saying fine girl, bla bla.. he now said I should tell the woman selling noodles to give him a plate now . I now asked him what size he can finish, he said any size. I now went and placed order for a plate of noodles for him and told the lady to give him when she's done

I got to his stand to buy meat and he cut one tiny piece for me. I told him ah.. customer, it's too small now, please add jara for me, this man started shouting that he's not going to add anything. I said you're shouting, he said he'll shout that he can't add anything to the meat and continued talking so loud that everyone started starring at me.

I picked the meat, paid for it and went to meet the Noodles seller, asked them to package it, paid for it and took it away. I got to a busy road and saw a Mallam that usually supplies us water anytime theres no light to pump and gave it to him. He was so appreciative of it and I felt fulfilled blessing that Aboki than giving it to a rude and saucy butcher.

Did I do wrong?

Why would you keep 'pricing' when he already offered you a good rate?

People like you deliberately get on people's nerves and then turn around to accuse them of being harsh, rude or all the other jargons you people use to qualify reactions to your original action.
I have met too many people like you in my line of business, you mount pressure, push me beyond limits where you didn't need to and then accuse me. Of course he will hype you because he knows you and have put the previous day behind him, it doesn't mean he won't 'shout' again if you make him.

The reason you guys do that and not put the other person into consideration is this 'overbloated ego' of "customer is king"

Imagine establishing an Igbo Language learning school IN Lagos. A language that kids probably ONLY speak at home where they'd already learn it anyway.

It's an EXTREMELY dumb initiative.

Kids don't need to learn a language that is NOT the official language of any country. A language that's spoken by only about 40/50 million people.

Rather, a talent scouting agency or coding school or even trade school would have been a better project.

I mean what is the point of ruminating over and over about that which you do not plan to do anything about. Let it go so you can find yourself that other someone who you will not need to worry about the same over.

I am just ranting... If there was something I could do, I definitely would do it. Girls like her, though they abound are difficult to come by.

How do I begin to even love as deeply as I did this person? Worst is that I have flaunted my love for her so much that every other person that might have had interest in me have all given up on me.

This is bad and it is hard to bear

I created this account to I don't know, maybe vent or something.

So I met this girl a while ago, even though she has been putting me off (she later adduced it to being in a relationship then) but we got really close and started dating about a year ago.

She turned out to be my dream girl, I fell deeper than I intended and for the first time in a long while considered marriage. She on the other hand, loved me, I could tell. The only stumbling block would be her parents who she claimed and truthfully would insist on her marrying from her state. Long story short, she recently told them about me and my state remained their strongest basis for opposing our marriage.

It hurts that statism is about to put an end to an otherwise beautiful love story in the making.

They tried bringing up the age difference, if I have built a house and wondering if she was desperate being young and fresh graduate, the issue of state even though my village to hers is less than a 3 hour drive is the most hammered upon.

Even though it hurts, but not as much I have hurt before, but how should being from different states even though of the same ethnic group be so much of a problem?
I just wish to get over this soon and maybe find someone else to wholly love like I have loved this girl.

Till I met and dated her for over a year, I never believed I could love a girl this much without sex, my instinct would have been to encourage her to fight her parents on this, but experience has taught me better.

I am devastated, I don't know how to pick up from here and move on and how fast I can do that.
