dayokanu:Typical Dayo, cynical and ambiguos statements yet playing on the imagination of the reader. ![]() Personally I have not seen the Nazis play so I cannot make an informed judgement on what the outcome of the match might be,however I sincerely hope that Siasia and his boys give a good account of themselves. It would be very painful if Nigeria is outplayed and loose the match,Instinctively I believe we would produce a descent performance!, whether it would translate into victory remains to be seen! |
aieromon:Out of curiosity, what is the difference between a commercial and business district ![]() |
Builder:Exactly!, personally I am not a fan of such buzzwords as re-branding,re-engineering etc. What Nigeria urgently needs is rethinking or more appropriately repentance. The country is so full of callous and heartless creatures and the most annoying part of it all is you would see public oficials justifying every negative thing in that country, beats me to be honest. |
T@meD0:Methinks someone has been spending too much time watching the Crime channel on SKY, this is Nigeria we are on about, where law officers dont have the slightest clue about gathering simple evidence like fingerprints, blood matching etc not to talk of Ballistic forensics, Wake up Dude!!!! May his soul rest in peace!!! |

chic2pimp:Very easy to say after the match ended. The fact is Fed lost the match and deservedly so.If you looked closely he was a knacked Mutherfucker at the end, when have you seen Fed making double faults so consistently in a long time. When the chips are down he relies on aces , not so much tonite.Like I said earlier his days of invisibilty are long gone and thankfully he has the twins to preoccupy his time. I would get a lot of knocks for this(now) but he has no chance of winning any GS again. |
chic2pimp:lol, It is a new era . Fed has done good for the game but it is time to look after the twins.Good luck to him . As I was saying anyway, we are in for a fun time with the new order of mens tennis!, you are all welcome aboard!! |
Del potron wins!!! |
chic2pimp:Thanks chic2pimp.I see that guy going places. |
Del breaks Federer, I predict a long night, Where is dayokanu ? |
davidylan:Haba, David it was you that predicted just a few posts ago that Del potro would be beaten in straight sets now you are hailing him, lets be consistent please ![]() I cannot say for sure if Del would win tonite but like I said in earlier posts these tall players (6"4 and above) dey fear me bad, They have tremendous advantage , I predict them running tennis soon. I dont know if anyone can remind me of the the US dude that beat roddick in the fourth round( he is 6"7).Cheers. |
I think it would be unwise to make a direct comparison between the Financial sector in Nigeria to most western countries(not to talk of the USA ). Most of these countries have a well grounded financial sector with strong asset base, good regulatory frameworks(although that is debatable in a lot of them),cohesive and consistent policies that make room for a vibrant business enviroment. The reverse is the case in Nigeria, apart form the usual uspects like chaotic macro-economic policies, acute corruption, insecurity, poor infrastructural base etc, the most relevant to this discussion is investor confidence. The assertion that 92 banks in US have failed in the OPs arguement is quite misleading.A lot of those banks are equivalents of community banks in Nigeria. While their demise are noteworthy in terms of economic analysis ,they cannot be used in terms of justifying an opposition to Sanusi's actions. With the global downturn,a very weak economy like Nigeria cannot afford to pussy-foot around ,we dont have the time luxury that for eg the UK,US or Germany has. There is general concensus that in this economic age,Foreign Investments are crucial to the development of any developing nation of which Nigeria desperately needs to achieve its potential, Investors looks at the banks/financial sector in deciding whether to make FDIs or not. I am fully aware that most policy intervention in Nigeria may have political undertones but on facevalue terms I would commend the CBN intervention .If we have a close look at this crisis Nigeria is one of the very few countries that have had the political fortitude to arrest bank executives and make them account for thier decisions, most countries have either pumped public money into banks to re-capitalise them or at best they let go of a few executives with millions of dollars in bonus( in some cases both have occured). In contrast to the OPs position ,I think this would send a good signal to potential investors that Nigeria is re-positioning itself economically . |
Hi Seun, I would like to be a Moderator in the careers section.I am currently doing a Masters in Business of which HR is a major component and I believe I could potentially make some contribution in this area.I am adequately aware of the best practice in this area coupled with the fact that I am on the internet for a considerable part of the day.Based on the aforementioned I believe I would be suitable for the role. Thank you. Lekan. |
sirwebs:Well that is very debatable.I personally have not seen any major talent shift. I predict Fed retiring very soon, he is quite a very intelligent dude! |
chic2pimp: dayokanu:lol, those are days I wish could return. But honestly Dayo,I find it quite unbelievable that you would like Fed, just doesnt conform with your independent nature. Yes he has surpassed everyone else , essentially due to the lack of formidable opposition.Sampras had to deal with other talented players and he held his own.Fed was lucky to be in the fray when there was a momentary dip in talent, unfortunately it lasted for over 6 years. He was so used to it that he cried when Nadal beat him for a second time in Melbourne after Wimbledon. Right now ,male tennis is back, we have potential and talent streaming from every corner.I cannot remember his name but there is US player that is over 6"6 tall that beat roddick in the 4th round,( quote me he is going very very far), Fed cannot cope with the new order, believe me when this guys start to blossom( in addition to nadal, djokovic etc), he has no chance! |
chic2pimp:Lol!!!, It is just the fact that he is not playing any exceptional tennis from Agassi,Sampras or Boris .He is just fortunate to be gifted( like the aforementioned) but playing in an era when there was shortage of talent( he rose when the likes of bagdatis, safin etc were holding forte), now the natural order of things have been restored, he is going to find difficult henceforth, I stand by my prediction. |
dayokanu:No doubt, Its a bit chaotic here and the system is kind of different from most forums where moderators give infractions or ban trollers and abusive posters but I am kind of enjoying it.I am going to posting regularly so we would get to interact. But I honestly hate that your Federer guy ![]() |
dayokanu:Match never end my friend!! and it is not one of those matches that could be described as a foregone conclusion, (both players playing well), make we wait! |
dayokanu:I don sign up a couple of months back, nothing serious until I see a lot of your Opata .I just say make I ruffle your feathers a bit, How e be my brother? I think say u go don know say na me, obviously you are not that observant, hehe! |
~Borat~:$1,600,000 for the winner runner-up gets $800,000 |
dayokanu:Na me you dey use shine , you dey craze!, Kelly dey burst laugh! How many Lekan u no sef ?Abegiiii |
dayokanu:Na the thing wey I wan do to you be that , Dayo na lekan .haaaaaahhaa.How far? padie |
dayokanu:" The whole world takes a tumble", He took the the first set via a tie break!!!! Dayokanu I am essentially saying the match has not ended yet( in case you dont understand that as well) ![]() Are you watching it or listening to commentaries on radio( the game is tight), I predict a long night( or day) depending where you are. |
dayokanu:You are not that naive ? I am surprised that you didn't get I was implicitly implying! ![]() In simple understandable English, Bring it ON |
C2H5OH:I never tried to exonerate Nadals performance because of his injury.I merely stated it would be a legitimate factor alongside the fact he had to play 2 matches in 2 days.Fed has had tremendous luck in avoiding injury and it adds to his profile as a champion but in a debate it is quite valid to make comparative analysis as to what if?, you get me !! |
dayokanu:Get off your high horse and remove your tin foil hat my friend! Admittedly Fed is arguably the best tennis player ever but he is not as invisible as he used to be.The fact is that gone are those days when he wins matches 3 sets to love throughout the year, he has lost 10 times this year while been fit ( I noticed you didnt comment about the crying episode in Melborne, that was a disgrace!!!). If I can remind you that the debate is of twofolds: 1.You indicated that Murray was a useless player that had no chance of winning a GS, Rubbish 2.Nadal was beaten 6-2 6-2 6-2, and in your usual form infered that he is not a good player, once again nonsensical! I am not a soothsayer ,so I wouldn't be able to say for sure if Nadal or any other player can match Fed.The same was said a couple of years ago about Sampras, but we are all living witness to record breaking streak of Fedrerar . Unlike those days where there was only a handful of potentials, we are awash with talent today. My point is Fed has made his mark(no doubt and no one can take that away from him) but his days of domination is over, the respect is gone, and gone forever. When you play against a champion, the nerves come into play and in most cases an individual tends to play below form mainly because of respect.I am not too sure if you watched Tsongas game against Fed, ( he was literarily beaten hands down) despite the fact he took the first set. Another interesting phenomena in the game is the presence of very tall players like Delpotro,Marin cilic etc who are 6 foot 5 and above. This players traditionally have been confined to sports like basketball, handball and if they didnt perform they had no chance but with Bolt doing wonders in the sprints, coaches are beginning to explore other sports tall players could have a comparative advantage.A Cilic or Del-potro at their best (of course with the skills) would murder Fed or nadal on the court. Not to be flippant,I hope you can see my point. P.S. Can you please keep it civil as opposed to your normal Amala induced arguements! |
dayokanu:While I dont want to feed your troll, I feel a need to respond to your ridiculous post. Did you watch the match? if Yes , did you see the dignified manner he behaved as opposed to Fed who cried like a baby when Nadal beat him at the Aussie open.It is a game and unlike what Schumacer was to racing , Fed still gets beaten here and there. Federer has the luck of avoiding injuries unlike for eg Venus or Nadal that are quite injury prone.I would not be surprised if he wins this year but it would also go on record that due to natural extenuating factors, there was some constraints on some players, that would be an excuse for not winning though but it was still an inhibiting factor. I dont claim to be a sport super analyst as you consistently try to pride yourself but I believe Fed is not invisible anymore, his era is gone. From next year he cannot win straight GS like he did before. He has four main challenges that would breathe down his neck. 1.The Formidable Nadal(without injuries) 2.Djockovic 3.Murray 4.Tsonga 5.Del potro These group of players are young ,hungry and talented , apart from DEL POTRO , they have all beaten him.The Fed express era is gone for good, we are just awaiting the new King! P.S If NYPD does a good job tonite you should definitely be arrested for OPATA yearns ! |
dayokanu:Typical Nigerian "Yeparipa" attitude.Nadal just recovered from an injury and successfully reached the semis of the US open, despite having to play 2 days straight and your analytic recommendation is for him to see T.B Joshua, Incredible. IMO, if anyone needs to seek help it would be someone who consistently argues amiss! |
dayokanu:My friend can you stop writing if you have nothing sensible to say.Murray was runner-up last year and you making it sound as if he is non-performer. Has he won a GS?, NO Does he have age on his side? Yes Does he have the capability to win a GS, absolutely I have told you before, let your arguements be based on facts rather than emotions! |
dayokanu:You never fail to disappoint me. The crux of the arguement is your stance about Murray, like I mentioned earlier your comparison of Murray to bagdatis, safin etc was ridiculous. It is evident that Murray is unarguably one of the top 4 players in the world-ranking or no ranking. You have a knack for exaggeration hence the lome open rubbish and it is always evident in your posts. I cannot help you with your obsession for Germany, but I found it quite amusing that you are actually following the Euro women tournament, you must be one of the very people who would dedicate their time to know the scores of such a tourney. England has not won a lot of titles but honestly I would put my bet where the money is, hello London!!! |
SEFAGO:What gave you the impression that most Non-US residents are "clueless" about it.I left Nigeria over 10 years ago when accessibility to the Internet was quite negligible and a lot of us knew about the website. It just bothers me a lot when some Nigerians spend a few months/years abroad and start having some imaginary supreriority complex. My take on the discussion is this: Are MBAs overrated these days----Definite Yes, A lot of folks see it a means to an end rather than the intensive, rigorous and advantageous course its meant to be,hence we have millions of schools shelling out the degree like water e.g Lasu ojo campus,Lasu maryland campus all give out MBAs.etc Is it financially worthwhile investing in an MBA at Harvard /Ivy league Institution or any reputable school like London business school/Hec paris etc, Absolutely without any doubt, the reason is clear and indisputable.Despite the global economic climate, 95% of their graduates still get high earning jobs, Nuff said!!! |
dayokanu:Your pattern of reasoning is frightening to be honest.I outlined two valid reasons why your assertions about Murray is questionable and you said I didnt say anything that holds logical weight without any attempt to address or refute it. I would take it slowly( perharps that way you would understand me): Rankings are determined by the number of tournaments a player participates in and their performance is taken into account .Murray has obviously played more matches than Nadal this year( albeit due to the latters injury) ,but it would be grossly disingenious to suggest that outside of the known top 2 players (namely Fed and nadal) murray has not performed better than any other player. My position is ,Murray is a very good tennis player and reasonably is almost definitely among the best 4 in the world at this time .You comparing him with the likes of bagdatis etc is nonsensical. P.S As for starting a debate on English football ,you know more than I do, this is not the appropriate thread to do that!, after over 2000 posts you should know better, I,ll meet you when you get there!!! |
