And in the military for instance, only the k9s that pass all training sessions are certified and eligible to be used for detention services

All the same. Just like i narrated earlier, if you get a pup from him then keep it as a pet then no big deal. Believe me N150k for a quality pup is even cheap, visit other countries and see how much dogs are worth.

I'm a dog lover and NOT a breeder but I'm getting a pup worth more than that price you stated above just for pet and to keep at home nothing else. check my dogs diary and see what I'm doing with those boys

The image i attached below is a screenshot i took from a Zambian group, someone had made a post requesting for a pitbull pup and clearly stated he has $800 which is close to N300k in Nigeria o so you see. He isn't even requesting for a pedigree nor an imported pit either

Lols now let's look at it this way.


Someone buys a female dog at puppyhood for 150k.

Every month he buys at least 1 bag of kibble for her which costs let me say 10k X 12months = 120k

He got her some pet accessories like; dog feeding bowl-N4,500

leash and collar-6k

Dog soap and shampoo for 12months- 6k

He builds her a dog cage lets say 50k

The Meat, brisket bones, and other small small treats he's been buying for 12months- 20k

Medical and vet bills for the 12months -15k

His dog comes on heat, he looks for a good pedigree male and stud service was conducted, he pays 100k for the stud service because the owner said he won't collect any pup.

She litters 6pups, he rush into the market to get dog milk, baby milk, dried food for the pups, a whelping box and other puppy accessories. Let's say roughly 200k

Total = N671,500 which is almost 700k. You don't expect him to sell his pups 50 50k for you now. Nah not possible

Note: this write up isn't for a pedigree female dog, a ped female dog costs about 300k and the upkeep and everything should reach a million plus.

This is one of the reasons why pups are expensive

I have an imported Gsd then named RESCUE when things were great but i lost it when we traveled and we gave it to a neighbor who could not take proper care of it. My dog fell sick because it not getting proper care and when we were back my dog couldn't be saved. Please guys now i'm ready to get a dog but the dog breed i'm planning to go for is very expensive a Caucasian Gsd, i saw one for 89k here in Ebonyi state but my problem now is how's the cost of feeding because i can hardly provide 5k everyday and the least i can do is 1,5k-2k.
Please you can suggest any good breed to start with....


Any dog breeders in Ebonyi state can help by identifying and i will appreciate it if we can meet in person because i'm not only breeding for love now i'm also planning on selling since it's lucrative so i need the best breed.

Who feeds a dog 5k food everyday? No one does that

Get a bag of kibble for 10-20k(depending on the product) which can serve you for maybe a month and other small small mix highest 30k for one month.

As for the breed to go for, get a female boerboel, gsd or rott of good quality since you plan on breeding her. What's your budget for the pup?

I am just fascinated.
As IamAnderson and Vincentjk said every dog have their eating pattern.
Like today Xena fed much, she munched almost everything i provided.
Buh as u said, i observed she prefer eating at night, so i'll equally adjust to feeding her favourite at 9t, which i'm yet to discover cos she's unpredictable with meals.

For swallow with draw soup esp (okra) which almost everyone have testified how their dog loves it. Unfortunately i have not introduced swallow to xena, i trust which i do, she will be excited tho.

I do that when she was younger, buh nw, the last time i tried that method, it ended unsuccessful, she finally brought it out.
Very disturbing.

Try it softly and make sure she doesn't get scared if not it'll become a problem as she matures. Anyways you can grind and mix with something then serve

Or insert it inside a ball of swallow, put enough soup she'll take it. (Don't do this in her presence)

As for the prazi-warmer tablet, you put it inside her mouth, hold it until she swallows it but softly so she doesn't get choked in the process

As learning is a day to day affair, which justifies being a continious process.

1. Though Xena dosn't have thick, i use JEC- RIGHT RAID herbal Acaricide powder, which i apply on her coat, occassionally after bath, though it's working wonders, buh the way she sniffs and run around makes me feel uncomfortable.
Pls suggest alternative, or should i stick to that?

2. Any good worm tab? I use wormid, after every 2wks, cos my dog always take eggs(boiled) and milk why i go for injectable deworming after 4/5wks but i am beginning to doubt the efficiency of the wormid.

3. As she sniffs and run around when i apply her thick control powder, thats same thing she does when i wear her perfume.
Any problem with this?

4. Aside from deworming, is there anyway to increase a dog'q appetite?

Sometimes these tick fleet have side effect to dogs when sniffed but since we got no option, we just have to be careful during application. Does it smell a lot?

As for the wormer, I personally use this one because i think it's the best and it also works wonders. The name is prazi-wormer

nah, i didn't doubt his diet during his puppyhood. What i said was in accordance to the gyming routine that involves body building thats if ure to engage in it,he will need more diet(protein) than his current food to help him build up.
