learner007: You are now overdoing it. You got into UIUC funded, congrats. You have celebrated God and we have celebrated with you. This question you are asking almost feels like you are gloating and it is d.umb to be honest. If you do not know the status of UIUC why are you now saying God honored your weak profile? Ok so if Twoods responds and says they are not top tier you will start calling him bad belle but if he praises it he becomes your friend? You are looking for validation on NL? RELAX. 26 Likes |

ponpon: Nna eh. I saw Uni of California (No school like that as there are many of them). The watery transcript. Imagine a VO who can actually see a name and can use the registered numbers on the GRE score report asking if the result is really his. Then to crown it up. Baba lied about GRE score. Saw that you could not get less than 260 in the GRE then came back to claim the GRE was 329. All thanks to BY MAFIT. Very bogus transcript. Abeg make pesin no dey pull wool over our eyes. Nigeria my country. I thought we wrote the same test, same time with the LSS crew? So how come their list is out and ours still in the balance? I don't want to attempt to explain what the reason could be. Father, may your will be done. 2 Likes 1 Share |

SnowJay92: Congratulations. PTDF would not send you any emails if you were not successful, besides, the form uploaded here had "successfully shortlisted" written there. |

Episteme2: Trust me, I saw his post. We are asking DreManuel's question to know if PTDF moved some OSS applicants to the LSS category in the manner they were accused of doing same last year. But if you are saying the guy's getting this successful feedback are LSS applicants then it is commendable. 2 Likes |

Why are people not telling if they applied for LSS or OSS? I mean the one's that have gotten the feedback with respect to LSS. 3 Likes |

adakoleagbenu: The emboldened is specious. Their budget from 2002 has progressively increased till date yet they are trying to find justification for reducing the number of OS scholars. They have reduced OSS from 9 per state for NON-ND states to 5 and 13 to 6 for ND states. What other reduction will they need to do to prove that they are now prioritising the LSS? Why incorporate PRESSID scholars of 13/14 and abandon 14/15 scholars whose names you published, yet 2 years down the line still use PRESSID as an excuse for reducing the OSS list? Why give DPR and co free slots to fill in a handful of names no matter the school of choice yet subject others who actually participated in a testing phase to the ridicule of forcing them sometimes to consider schools in countries they would not have considered? Why have a separate list different from the published one that may contain names more than the published list if you feel you are truly phasing out the OSS? Nigerians need to understand the insidiousness that has become part and parcel of the PTDF. The day of reckoning is coming. 7 Likes |

Sharles: Computer based; 1. Is adaptive which means if you do well in the first section the next section will get harder. 2. Get your result instantaneously apart from the AWA. 3. Get a compulsory experimental section. Paper based; 1. Is generally a mishmash of Medium-difficulty level questions all round. 2. Your result is released in 2 weeks and the AWA is paper based (which means you get to write it with your pen/pencil). 3. There is no experimental section. Which do you prefer? 1 Like |

DreManuel: Haba, where did you get this from? Paper based is written 3 times in a year in Nigeria. I personally know 3 people that wrote it in 2016 and I am sure atleast one person on this thread wrote it. |

As far as the verbal questions leaking - I seriously doubt it considering this is the first ever time any PTDF exams was of this arrangement. The more technical aspect did not even leak per se. Yes, they got some questions for some disciplines from a particular website but this is not a new development. Dangote, Halliburton and DPR got some questions from that same website. The only real snag if there is any, is if PTDF would be fair in the process and make the raw scores count more without the needless permuations they claim to make placing scores hand-in-hand with LGAs. Also, we beseech them not to give all the OSS slots to cronies of the members of the National Assembly or staff of the DPR (and other Ministry of Petroleum Resources affiliates) whilst relegating people who merited it to the LSS positions. I have confidence in PTDF God bless us. 3 Likes |

highfidelity: Your profile is very very good. Against Fall of 2018 apply to Auburn, Uni of Maryland College Park and UIUC. Auburn will most likely admit you and fund you fully for a direct PhD. UIUC do not allow direct PhD applications but I am pretty sure you would be admitted and with luck you can secure RA for your MSc which can translate into a PhD on completion. UMCP has admitted a few people fully funded for MSc with profiles less than yours so I see no reason why they would not admit you especially if you submit your applications early enough i.e By Oct of this year. I beseech you to consider direct PhD for all or most of the schools you are considering as that is one sure way to secure funding especially when you fall into the early bird category. For 2 reach schools (reach because admissions therein are precarious) try Uni of Texas in Austin and Georgia Tech as well. They fully funded a few Nigerians too with similar profiles like yours. Again via the direct PhD route. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

majekdom2: 5 is substantial enough. Not 5 I-know-someone-who-knows-someone people but 5 actual people who got it themselves. There was a 2014/15 thread with Omaobe who did SRD. There was a 2016 thread that had Andytoc come to announce he was taken through the assessed internship route. On that thread, SRD participants (1 or 2 spoke). I don't really care if they announced the offers, just that we could follow progress reports to a meaningful end. I was not privileged to see the screenshot of the guy who posted something that got 24likes before he deactivated his account so I am not here to gainsay his claims. My position is clear however - A good test of a genuine recruitment process will be in the preponderance of feedbacks reported by a large sample size in such a forum as nairaland (I would have to put a "full stop" here) Anybody who gets it should flex especially the ones who are being recruited for positions Shell themselves did not advertise for. 1 Like |

majekdom2: Atleast in the NLNG process we still saw a number of people on here who got the success mails regardless of the criteria NLNG imposed in the WAEC-stage selection scheme. To add to that, we also saw people who were sound upstairs as well that made it. This can balance the scale when compared with the dilemma you described above for other sound people who did not make it. Can we say the same about this particular Shell recruitment process? Is this the first Shell recruitment process on Nairaland? I have scoured through this platform even going as far as 2013 and the trend has been the same: We see a handful of people who get past each stage of the recruitment leading to landing the offer. Even when recruitment processes are shrouded in secrecy we still get substantial feedback. This time around people are knowing someone who knows someone, talking to people they see going into Shell offices or posting stuff and then deleting them right before deactivating their accounts. If alarm bells do not ring after seeing such, I wonder what in the world would cause them to ring. 5 Likes |
