You're most welcome Udabi. I pray God makes a way financially for you soon. PS: I'll prefer that you remove my moniker from your post. |
Hi Udabi, I read your last diary entry and I deeply empathise with you. I would like to send you something little to manage for the meantime. If you don't mind, kindly reply this post with your account details. Regards, |
Pls, how much is land verification check done in Oyo state? |
What is the cost of land verification check? |
This news is portraying something totally different. He has not tested negative before so there was no need saying he tested positive again. Saying that implies he has been negative then became positive which is not th case here. This is just a sensational news. To confirm a person free of the virus, two tests which must both be negative would have been done. News outlets should not be doing their usual sensationalism and 'controversial' crap they know how to do best with this pandemic. It creates unnecessary panic! |
I'm more relieved a popular social media commentator has added his voice to the thousands already that have been trying since to debunk the blatant lies being told by some reprobate Nigerians that the country does not have screening equipment at our airports. How on earth will someone believe that. Only a pathological hatred will make a person believe such even in the face of convincing evidence. I believe Nigeria is trying her best to curtail the spread of the virus. With the support of we the citizens, the country will overcome it. Pls, let us stop spreading unsubstantiated information and BCs. Panic and fear are not what will help us now. |
Bizibi:It is actually. It has been confirmed in U.S since January sef. |
RisenPhoenix:Oh yeah, thanks for pointing that out. And it may continue to increase with the less developed countries that are getting affected now. |
GamalNasser:One question for you. How did it spread to USA, U.K, Japan and other developed countries? Are you saying there method too is inept or their presidents are incompetent to handle an outbreak such as this? These things are not as easy as you type them. There are several things that may lead to missing out a positive person when they enter the country. Just don't spew emotional rants because of your dislike for a particular president. |
horsepower102:Chairman, this is not about your Jonathan or Buhari. It was not Jonathan who told late Dr Adadevoh to restrict the Liberian guy from leaving the hospital nor was he the one who told NCDC what to do. The major thing the President needs to do is to release funds when necessary and reassure the citizens. No president will seat idly and watch an epidemic such as this ravage their country. The searchlight of all countries and many NGOs are beamed on you, watching how you manage the epidemic. No president will want to appear as not doing enough thus, it is expected to see them putting their best foot forward in such situations whether Buhari or Jonathan. I believe in the government to manage this optimally more than the Ebola period. Try to be also. |
This is the time for NCDC to prove their mettle and the health minister to justify his alleged claim that we can contain the virus. The coming days will be crazy and highly chaotic with more cases that will be diagnosed. I do hope those that the patient has had contact it can be gotten and tested so as to quarantine any other positive person early. Battling an epidemic like this is not a walk in the park and the last thing any country will want is to be faced with one thus, I believe Nigeria will mobilize all the resources in her disposal to fight this scourge. It won't be easy (China is still fighting), but as every epidemic that has ever occured, the whole world will triumph over Covid-19. |
Actually, the mortality rate i.e the percentage of people who die from a particular disease, from Coronavirus is low (far lower than that of Ebola) about 2% except in some places like Iran which is about 10%. So, majority of people infected tend to survive except those that were previously ill, HIV patients, children, elderly people and those with chronic diseases. However, the rate and route of spread are what makes it worrisome. It's can spread superfast through the air thus making its containment difficult. An infected person could have infected others before they themselves start showing symptoms. The mass hysteria that will follow this Nigeria's case will be terrific with every Dick and Harry coming up with their own version of this case and supernatural ways of treating the virus. As much as possible, let's reduce the panic. |
Antoeni:If it's a scam, then go contract the virus and confirm to us that it's truly a scam. I would really want to know so l can tell that my dumb and 'maleducated' friend who thinks a major disease outbreak such as this and which has killed thousands of people in different countries is a scam for the countries to get some dollars to pocket. Abeg, I take God beg you, when you contract it, just stay far away from infecting innocent people. We will surely be praying for your swift recovery from here. And pls, totally refrain from spreading this kind of ridiculous and obnoxious conspiracy theory you're concocting. It's nauseating. |
Correcto:Hahah...now my laughter is uncontrollable. Recruit consultants, not ordinary MB;BS holder from India and Asia to come and teach Nigerian students and treat tropical medical conditions? Wonderful! This does just not worth replying to. Defies all forms of existing logic! |
edoairways:The best thing to have done was to put a cap at the amount chargeable by Universities which they eventually came back to do. JAMB is just getting it acts together and is not yet there. |
Correcto:Hahaha...I laugh hysterically. Get rid of renowned and vastly experienced consultants with immense years of practice? And replace them with who...herbalists? Gosh...some people's posts are only to be taken as amusement and a fickle attempt at stand up comedy. This is one of them. |
Nigeria and it's several ego-driven agencies and institutions coming out with half baked, preposterous and unwarranted regulations that lead to nothing but chaos in the country. An example is this malicious directive which will have absolutely no impact on medical education in our dear country. They make rules in the confines of their cushy offices without due consultation with critical stakeholders and then, try to force it down the throat of the recipients. The recipients of course are expected to rebel and reject the directive! Same issue with Minister of Education, Adamu who scrapped postutme but came back a year later, after realizing the foolery of his directive and the gargantuan failure it led to. It seems we will never learn from our mistakes in a long while to come. |
Really, this is the best defence the disgruntled political jobber who missed out of Bubu's cabinet can come up with. You borrowed money, did whatever that doesn't concern the bank with it and it's time to pay, you start narrating super story and claiming political vendetta. C'mon Galadima, pay the money and leave story alone. It's unscrupulous wannabe businessmen like you who have ruined some banks and yet, claim political vendetta. |
Hi op, The best choice in my opinion is Pharmacy. Though both are medical related courses, Pharmacy cuts it for me with it wide array of opportunities after school compared to MLS. I tell you, the opportunities are quite many. And to be honest with you, this is very important in Nigeria if you're choosing a course to study. |
horpeyemmi66:Hi horpeyemmi66, I'll advise that you take the Physiology seriously. You are in your penultimate year meaning you have one more year to go therefore, focus on it so you'd graduate with a stellar grade. If eventually you get Dentistry, you'd still have your Physiology degree secured. Coming to UTME, you can devote some of your time to preparing for it. By now, I believe it should be easier and faster for you to study for UTME considering your knowledge base. However, prepare studiously for it so you'd have a very high score which will put you in a favourable position you to be admitted for Dentistry at ABU. |
Hi Op, UI is one I can vouch for anywhere. If you pass the post UTME cutoff mark, be rest assured that your name will come out in the merit list. That, I'm sure of. By the way, to get admitted to study medicine and surgery in any school, get a very high score in your JAMB and UTME. No matter how unfair the school can be, they will still admit some base on their high score. Therefore study hard and smart and you'd surely get that your desired course |
Adding to what others have enumerated, write a lot. When you write you'd be able to crystallise your thoughts, making it easy for you to present them succinctly and in the most concise form. Also, join the Literary and Debating Society of your school. I'm sure you'd have one, just ask around. Be heavily involved in the various activities and debating competitions that would present themselves. Finally, practice, practice and practice! Speak, speak and speak more with any little opportunity you can grab. I'm also working seriously on public speaking this year. All the best! |
teewaii88:Congrats guy, welcome on board. I pray you have a hitch-free journey! |
[quote author=Starfx post=74263467]I would say it's passion ,because nothing will Make one to leave a very competitive course like pharmacy to write jamb again and repeat 100level. By the way, which med school are ... |
