Stephen0mozzy: Read what you've said. We have been paying indirect tax, so we can't ask for the ONLY purpose why government exists. Please. So the natural resource that they've been mismanaging, they'll do better job of accountability if the money is from tax and not oil? Please. The only major indirect tax in this nation is vat. What is our rate compared with nations at the same level of development with us? Before this reform Nigerians have forgotten capital gains tax and capital transfer tax. I'm a landlord, I receive rental payment but I don't pay tax on them. It's not done in those nations that we want to be like them. When I knew that our tax system has broken down completely was when I did fx transaction through Form A and bank didn't asked for my TCC. When we were students you can't access $1 through Form A without attaching TCC. Parents couldn't register their children in public schools without showing TCC. Free petrodollar destroyed us. We need to go back. |

Stephen0mozzy: We know that one.
He that must come to equity must come with clean hands. Why ask us not to complain about tax, when even after taxing me, my street is flooded when it rains, my salary can't even take me to the hospital clinic two times for medical checkup, I'm providing my own electricity, I've dug my own borehole. This one is valid and it's what the citizens should be asking from the center and subnationals. Every duty have rights attached to it. We haven't been asking because: ~ we have not been paying. Forget about indirect taxes. ~ we are tribalistic. We leave our duty of asking when our tribes man is on the throne but ask loudest when another tribe is on the throne. ~ almost all our big people with no exception don't pay reasonable taxes. ~ we have been spoilt by natural resources. Natural resources should be springboard but their conversion is what creates wealth. Wealth converted should pay tax. ~ if we want to borrow less then we must either pay our taxes or make due with lack of infrastructure. We have sever deficit of infrastructure. Income from our natural resources are low relative to our population and our needs. There is little or nothing left to provide infrastructure for long-term development. |

Go sleep with your damage control nonsense He doesn't know what is happening in the country. Probably those Nigerian military men participated on their own. madridguy: Alhaji Rabiu should have renew his visa before embarking on the journey.
Kudos to the South African immigration, unlike our own bambiala immigration officers that all they know is to be begging money from both legal and illegal people coming and leaving the country. He acknowledged that it was an error on his part but is it a wise decision economy-wise to turn back such a person entering their country to add wealth and value to their country? Who lost more? Probably those whites that they allowed without visa might not have added one tenth of what he would have added to their economy. Besides the reason for turning him back was very minor - one day visa expiration. Why not look at his travel history on his passport? |

Tinubu has been quiet since these people have been killing people in the North. He was even quiet when same ISIS beheaded people in the same North.
Now the COW wants to align with America because he needs that Trump audience and handshake seriously
Propaganda merchants.. Appreciate what you have. It wouldn't cost you anything. Trump said that it was a complicated operation involving Nigerian and American military. If it was easy and no role was played by our military trust Trump he would have said so. You are here doing chochocho but you and I don't know who played which role and who contributed more. It could as well be our military. The important thing is that victory has been achieved. Stop maligning your country for you have no other country except Nigeria. Tinubu will come and go and maybe your Messiah could take over. You don't know what he will face. He might be worse than what you ever think. The above is advice. |

Hemanwel: Oga Pero, you owe nobody any explanation. Everyone knows that APGA is a regional party; you couldn't have achieved anything in national politics if you had remained there.
Wike and Atiku's belief in money politics also would not have given you the needed platform for you to shine politically. So your leaving there was in order
Tinubu used Lamidi Apapa to crumble Labour Party when he saw your outstanding performance after 2023 elections. So, your leaving LP was understable.
In ADC, Atiku wanted to ride on your popularity to achieve his lifelong dream of becoming the president of this country. Something he couldn't achieve since 1993.
Here you are in NDC. The Eagle has safely landed in NDC and we (the Nigerian people) are 100% with you!
Nothing will stop the Peter Obi tsunami in 2027.

Angelfrost: You just trying too hard to run around issues and facts...!
I mentioned something as basic as Power supply, you started speaking grammar.
What is stopping Lagos in all its glory and large economy from leaving the national grid permanently?!
Who told you they can't be a tourist destination as well as being a commercial hub?!! Is Dubai in another planet?!! Is Capetown in another universe?!! Even Dakar and Cairo do both effortlessly, and enjoy high class facilities. You are the one that don't understand issues. What is the law regulating electricity in this country? Was it before now on the exclusive or concurrent list? When was it moved to the concurrent list? FYI when Tinubu was governor an attempt was made to start an IPP but was stopped by OBJ government because it was then on the exclusive list. As for tourism every state or city plays to their advantage. Lagos has decided to play to her advantage and that made her the fifth largest economy in Africa. Contest this. How many countries are in Africa? For the economy of a state to be fifth largest is no mean achievement. I know that you belong to the group that condemn anything Nigeria and hail everything outside. No problem but hard facts proven by figures don't tell lies. |
Politics › Re: Gbajabiamila: Tinubu Almost Fired Me Because Of Desmond Elliot by Vision101(m): 11:24pm On May 14 |
Angelfrost: I'm sorry... But, what facilities?!!
Abidjian, Capetown, Kigali, Nairobi, Rabat, and other cities in Africa have 24 hours electricity.
Does Lagos have this?!! Does anywhere in Lagos, even Ikeja or Banana Island enjoy uninterrupted Power supply?!!
Please name those facilities...!
How much does Lagos generate from Tourism compared to other African cities?!!
What is the air quality?!!
What is the livability compared to the nations above?!!
In 2026, Lagos is still what you are bragging about in Nigeria, a nation with over 200 million people, and 36 states?!!
Have you no shame nor decency?!! You guys mix up issues. Electricity until recently is a federal issue. How is Lagos supposed to be assessed specifically on that? Tourism: Lagos is not a tourism destination. It's a financial capital. The fifth largest economy in Africa. Which means that the size of her economy compets with major African countries and not even their cities. Show me the shame and indecency. |

Obidients are very strong ooo
Fear who no fear them Bunkum. Lagos is being celebrated today. Some of the facilities are like what you get in advanced economies. The bulk of what was used to finance them were borrowed. The projects are paying back. The income from the blue line alone is massive. You have sever infrastructure deficit not attended to for so many years. Your income is very weak: very low oil production and tax. Therefore your choice is: wait until you can save and invest in infrastructure which will retard your growth or borrow and invest in future capital formation. Dangote wouldn't have had the massive refinery without borrowing. |

Can a saint work with sinners? Can two work together except they agree? If you are truly principled as he claims you will never come near what is against your principle no matter the benefits that you can drive. You ran away from Atiku and condemned him. SixSeven: He said: “You mean that APC would be worried about ADC, NDC? I saw Atiku, he is now our best campaign manager because he is attacking Obi, and I see Obi attacking Amaechi.”
Did you read that well? Obi is the main threat to them. Unfortunately, Obi won't attack Amaechi. One of the things Obi had said in the last campaign was that he won't respond to unequals in the campaign, which when you look at it is what all the candidates did. He didn't bother responding to Omokri who was an aide, he said I will talk to your boss. He also does not respond to insults. Soludo tried to demarket him and he called him Professor who knows better can help him fix the problems he did not know how to fix. He call am brother
Tinubu tried to demarket him by saying he won't even call his name but he didn't respond to him at tall so if you are expecting Obi to be attacking Amaechi, sorry is your boyfriend's name.
Last time, it was Gbaja saying the ADC guy should scatter them. Tinubu said he will send Akpabio to opposition and now Oshiomole wants them to fight. If the opposition should take any notes from APC's playbook, it's that they don't want Nigerians to demand accountability from them. If you all focus and press APC's neck, e go choke. They've been in power for 12 years, they have 31+ governors, opposition should be their least worry but we know why a man who can't perform on bed will blame his wife and her family for being barren. Let her family be fighting among themselves when he's the actual problem, at least it takes attention away from the elephant in the room🤡 There is no ruling party anywhere in the world that goes to sleep in an election year no matter how good that they have performed. OBJ went on overdrive in the west even with PDP controlling many states and the legislature. Obi enjoyed the element of surprise in 2023 and he has been bragging about it. Now he's being given hitech politics. He has been sweating and that's why he ran to and out of people that he called structure of criminality. After 2027 he will know his level. |
