Penguin2: Sing another song…
Shebi you lots were swearing that “Kwankwaso will never deputize Obi.”?
How market now?
This is just the beginning. Kwankwaso is suffering the effects of overpricing. He over priced himself. He made unrealistic demands from APC which APC rejected. Being part of APC and getting a handsome position preparatory to 2031 would have paid him better. He got stranded as soon as Kano governor joined APC. Without thinking he joined ADC and when there was no way he ran out to deputize someone far lower than him. A PhD holder, former minister, former senator and former state governor when Obi wasn't known is now doing boy boy to Obi and Dickson. How are the mighty fallen? They will not win and after 2027 his value will go further down. |

Ofunaofu: If he made the suggestion, why is there no Amotekun in Lagos? Is Lagos not facing the same insecurity challenges as other states in the region?
This confirms what Makinde said, that it was all politics and an attempt to deceive Nigerians Lagos is not facing the same crime rate as the rest of Nigeria. In fact Lagos is one of the safest. Lagos state government has a state security trust fund where funds are contributed by the government and private sector to fund the Nigerian police. The police in Lagos is the best funded and best equipped. The crime rate is relatively low that's why major elites keep their families in Lagos. Lagos has neighbourhood watch. What Lagos needs is full state police. |
Politics › Re: Stop Deceiving Us On State Police – Gov Makinde Tells FG by Vision101(m): 9:47pm On May 29 |
DonFreshmoney: Makinde has a point there. Tinubu is just playing to the gallery with the state police. Watch him use state police to campaign for 2027 then abandon it if he wins. The question is why didnt Lagos join their sister states to create Amotekun? Let me answer you. Lagos state has a state security trust fund where the government and private sector contributes money to extra fund the police. The Nigerian police in Lagos is the best equipped and funded. That's why you have low crime rate. Next.... Lagos is a cosmopolitan city therefore rag tag amotekun will not fit into their model. There are neighborhood watch in Lagos. What Lagos needs is pure state police and that will mean transferring their funding of Nigeria Police to their state police. Makinde just wants to attack anything Tinubu. |

APC named edifices after characters like Danjuma and Wike. They even appointed Babangidas son as the Head of a National Bank, while fighting imaginary enemies accused of supporting Babangida during the June 12 crises! But they can't stand an honest woman who helped entrench democracy in Abia state!? No wonder they're being chased away at every campaign stop. Even if the woman did well, it's not morally right for the direct beneficiary to award such. It raises suspicion. If the woman is truly morally upright she should reject it otherwise it amounts to conflict of interest. It's like paying you for what you did for me. |

Ofunaofu: Don’t say it can never happen in the south east, of course it can. Leadership doesn’t just fall from the sky. When you live in a community and actively participate in its socio-political activities, people naturally begin to trust and recognize you. That’s how leadership positions come.
But when you isolate yourself from the socio-political life of the community you live in, don’t expect leadership positions to come looking for you.
Zaccheus Okoro must have actively participated in the community he found himself in, and that is why the people of Ise/Ikere-Ekiti found him worthy of political office, irrespective of his tribe. Fat lie. Our people will never allow this. We are too unwelcoming even to ourselves. There are civil servants of Igbo extraction that are in Lagos state civil service. Some have retired and earn their pensions. But as soon as Abia was created from old Imo and some civil servants of Imo origin were posted to Abia, all of them were sacked. I'm the only Igbo landlord on my street in Lagos. Anytime that I'm around my neighbours that are mostly Yorubas will feel happy around me. They say that I'm a detribalised Igbo man. In Aba where I work an ngwa man will not allow his fellow Igbo man to rest. He will remind you always that this is ala ngwa. We are not welcoming. Period. |

Tell me, where were the 11.9m voters in 2022 primaries?
When you juxtapose that with the trend of dwindling electoral interest that has been unfolding over the past 5/6 general elections, it makes no sense.
The only way 11.9m can happen if cows are part of grassroot APC.
APC is joking with revolution. Can you interrogate APC membership register submitted to INEC and show us proof that the number of registered members are false. Argue and condemn with facts so that you can be honourable. |

SmartPolician: Kenneth Okonkwo should return to the movies and leave politics for politicians. It's crystal clear that actors, although popular in Nigeria, rarely become successful politicians.
Nigerian politics is not like American politics where Schwarzenegger became the governor of one of the richest American states, California. Honestly Nigerian politics is funny. Everyone is a chieftain and expert. Outside Nollywood acting have you ever heard of where Okonkwo has worked or practiced a profession? Now he educates us on debt, economy and leadership. He has never managed the budget of an enterprise that operates from a kiosk but he is educating us on national budget. For Nigerian politics it's all about visibility and noise. That's why one of them that likes trending on social media thinks that he's the best presidential material in Nigeria. |

There is reward for patience, trust, humility and loyalty in politics. Tinubu passed this test and that's why he has many loyalists. Atiku and Obi have all failed this test woefully. Shettima has demonstrated all these since 2023. PBAT in his usual braveness has destroyed the same faith myth in Nigerian politics. A winning team is not supposed to be changed. |

jmoore: Cos he hired INEC chairman to rig elections in his favour. We have seen the rehearsal of the rigging method in APC primaries. Where they count 99 and jump straight to 10,000. I want to ask you: sample the opinion of every state governor even in opposition and ask them if they will prefer Tinubu or any other. Their resounding response will be Tinubu. He made governance easy for them. Oti's signature bank is awash with Abia money. It's easier for PBAT to win now than 2023. He doesn't need rigging. He is audacious and bold. He is ambitious. He likes taking up big challenges. We expect him to drive his reforms for another four years and thereafter pick a disciple from the north to run it for another eight years. After this Nigeria's head will be so raised up. Enough of patch patch and cosmetic approach to governance in Nigeria. We don't want those that will think small just to look good in the eyes of the public meanwhile bleak future awaits us. |

Dancebreaker: House of Rep is better than minister. Unless it's a major ministry. One was even only a minister of state (junior minister).
In the HoR if you win, you can stay for 4 years. FEC minister, you can be fired at any time. If by chance you become a Select Committee chairman/woman, as Ibori's daughter became in her first term in the HoR, you will make money.
Also, during this current government, most ministries didn't even get 25% of their budget/allocations. It was in the news recently, before the former Minister of Finance left. In fact, the revelation by the former finance minister was one of the unpalatable things Tinubu was unhappy about. This one na for career and politics forever politicians. Technocrats in the government have no time and interest in politics. Once they leave, they head back to their profession. |

If you stay in Abuja and enjoy yourself even if you do well in your assignment the locals will not regard you. Politics is local and not online or always appearing in the news. This is what Obi don't understand. They taught him a bit and he began to go up and down sinking ancient boreholes and donating money. This is not enough. You do it when you don't need anything from them. When you need them you tell them that it's your turn to get paid back. |

All this talk of all politicians being the same won't fly
No human with functional brain can say Obi and tinubu are the same... Not possible Of course Obi's head is empty. He said that he wanted to be a trader like his parents but his parents wanted him to go to school. In obedience without desire he chose a course that he considered easy which should run for four years. It took him six years to finish and he still made third class. That's why he doesn't understand the meaning of climate change and green energy. I have never heard him speak technically about economy and finance. President of Federal Republic of Nigeria is not the same as Anambra state governor. Macro and micro economy is not the same as warehouse economy. |
