Kingpele:They will soon award 20 billion against you although suing you is like suing the air. Nothing to harvest. |
richiemcgold:Exactly what I wanted to say. The chochocho on Arise TV will put many in trouble. Two in trouble....many to follow. |
Kukutente23:Maybe we will campaign that you should be made the power minister because you said that there's nothing deep about power. The position is vacant now. I didn't accuse the brilliant professor. I simply stated that the problem is beyond technical knowledge. Not rocket science - Fashola said so because he looked at the problem from far but it overwhelmed him. Just like you think that it's a walk in the park. Same way that Obi thinks that managing Nigeria is as simple constantly being online and doing chochocho. There are so much to crack in the power sector. I trust PBAT. The same way he cracked fx mafia that all became billionaires for doing nothing. The same way that he cracked the oil and subsidy mafia, he will crack this. This will be the ultimate deliverance for Nigeria. |
Lalami3232:Simple answer: To provide infrastructure that has been in decay from the days of OBJ. It's massively done now all over the country. Subsidy savings have allowed us to effectively run governments, I mean governments, repay loans that are due without rescheduling and pay bills as and when due as well as save for the rainy day through increased reserves. Borrowing will continue until our tax to gdp rate increases to average in the world. Ours is far bellow average. Sanusi as an economist should be asking about what the borrowed funds are used for. He can help us expose if they are used for recurrent expenditure. Which I don't expect an experienced finance person like PBAT to sanction. |
Emzedz:Keep quiet. You don't understand what they are saying. You don't know economics. Thank you for your attention to this matter. |
HelipsTech:Atiku is a big guy. He sends his boys to do the errand for him. Obi is a boy he has to do the errand himself. |
LagosOrigin:If he is respected he will send for them and not going up and down begging them. |
Kukutente23:We have had one of the best talents in power ministry. A brilliant professor of electrical engineering. An igbo man. He failed in power ministry but doing well in his private business associated with electricity. This should tell you that the problem of power is deeper. Like the oil mafia and the subsidy mafia. Everyone that has been there failed. Political appointments in Nigeria at national levels are complex. So many are not based on competence. If he goes ahead to appoint based on competence mainly from a particular section you will go about shouting marginalization. Even if you hate PBAT he's widely credited with unearthing talents. Look at the quality of Lagos governors. Every new one appears to be better. |
shortgun:Your Peter Obi doesn't know what he's saying. You don't know what he's saying either. You don't borrow short to finance long. A lot of Nigeria's past borrowings were short that were used to finance long term projects. The projects couldn't finance the loan repayments and yearly earnings had to be used to repay thereby straining national annual budgets. FYI Lagos state under Tinubu was the first state in Nigeria's history to go to the bonds market to borrow. The investments financed the loan repayments. Tinubu is teaching you what he practiced. |
michoim:You didn't understand what he said. Say the truth. Lagos under Tinubu was the first state in Nigeria's history to go to the bonds market to borrow. The funds were for long term projects and they have paid of today. Repayment has been so easy. |
SmartPolician:I understood what I wrote perfectly. What I mean is that hence what the government offered freely is low for you let the government pay #500,000 na to please you. NDDC is an intervention agency with strict constitutional allocation solely for the Niger Delta. What they are offering is meant to appease the people from the oil producing states for the damage done to their environment through oil production. Your comparison don't tally. |
Racoon:What can be drawn from the Edu issue: PBAT can easily take any decision against anyone no matter how close you may be to him. It's the hallmark of a tough leader. He's good at unearthing talents. For every position he has several quality but unknown replacements. That's what is working in Lagos. Apart from some of us that know Taiwo within the professional circle that he is brilliant he was little known nationally. Tinubu has unearthed him and brought him out to national limelight. They are many on the line. There are also the well known ones like Ben Akubueze resting and ready to be deployed. |
Bentacur007:So much ignorance by Nigerians. The justices heard the arguments of the counsel to parties today and you expect them to manufacture judgement immediately. Do you know what it takes to arrive at a judgement more especially pen it down. Do you know the weight of the SC's judgement in our jurisprudence? |
Googledotcom:Only two serious parties in Nigeria today have released their timetable. The others are busy doing membership registration and arguing in court about leadership. After APC and PDP there's no other party in Nigeria. |
SmartPolician:No government will pay those studying vocational training for free #500,000 per month to please you. Were they paid one naira before? Is it not rare privilege for someone to be studying for free and be given stipend at the same time? Some Nigerians expect government to be feeding them like babies. Mtchee mtchee. |
tonesky:All this tribal rubbish is the reason why that you changed your mind and started hating Jonathan. Jonathan is not a tribal bigot like your Obi. Mtchee |
ijayalolo:Yours is postgraduate. His is undergraduate at 31. The major embassies will be very sensitive. He will need to do a lot to show that it's studies that he's after. |
osuofia2:Big question: Where is he suddenly getting the money from? Answer: Tinubu's policies are making more funds available to the states. Again he works closely with center. Benefit of belonging to the government at the center. |
Alliswell248:They do not understand that there is a difference between budgeted amount and actual amount spent based on funds realized. |
sacajawea:If I understand the writer well, the information that he conveyed was not missing funds but non release of funds in the capital budget. This will of course affect execution of projects in the budget. A budget doesn't mean that the cash is there. In the course of the execution anticipated funds may be short. The budget master in this case minister/minister of state is expected to work so hard to ensure that there is no misapplication(using funds meant for x for y) because of shortage. This is not always easy because of competing needs. A budget master that is not strong might fail in this because of pressure and some projects will suffer non release of funds. This does not mean that there is misappropriation (stealing) of funds. |
WriterNig:That's why Trump is insistence on negotiations now. He has unilaterally extended the ceasefire indefinitely. He knows that he will run America empty if this war continues. |
Naijahero1:Today is April 21st 2026. The day of reckoning for ADC is Wednesday, 22nd April 2026. To be or not to be. |
Sheuns:The opposition will not face the main issues. Electoral act that was in the national Assembly for months. Passed through several stages and processes, they couldn't spot out what they don't want and ensure through the parliament that those changes are effected. After the bill was passed and signed into law agitation started. Proper campaign after election. They acquired another party. No due diligence was conducted. You sidetracked the original owners and suspended them. When multiple court orders came to INEC and INEC decided to be neutral by not recognizing any of the factions, they began to shout that INEC chairman should be removed. APC has been on e-registration of their members long ago. When INEC gave a deadline for submission they said that APC had insider information and that INEC is against them. APC has published their electoral timetable and procedures. They have submitted same to INEC. ADC is still talking about their leadership issues and time is running fast against them. They are not in serious efforts to be ready but go about granting interviews on removal of INEC chairman, how Tinubu has not done anything, how Tinubu will rig the election etc. Elections will soon be around the corner. The party that is prepared and ready will win but they will go about shouting rigging and how the courts have been compromised. In indeed it's not a tea party to be a successful opposition. Let the present opposition be humble and go to Tinubu to take lesson notes on successful political opposition. |
AOB1:Ignorant people. So they don't know that INEC chairman has a fixed term approved by law. There must be circumstances on which he can be removed. The president cannot on his own remove the chairman. I wonder the type of politicians and law makers that we have. |
callmeDDD:Borrowing decisions comes from budgeting. Is Wale saying that he has not been part of the budget? |
Hemanwel:What is new in ADC? We know all of them. Meanwhile today is 21st. One day to go concerning ADC. The day of reckoning is 22nd. |
NgeneUkwenu:APC is miles ahead of the rest. |
LordBiden:Which finance minister? Do you mean kabukabu finance minister? What is his background? Where is his experience? |
completeskills:Then another person will be appointed and if he doesn't make Obi president then obedients will ask him to resign and again we appoint another and another..... |
Daguccizgreat:So you have never had typographic error before? So because the system typed "he" instead of "is" that is how you have become a professor of English language and English has become difficult for me? You are funny 🤣 |
Maj196:The man is correcting you that you so much malig your country on the Internet but he is not seeing it as he has. The foreigner is more protective of the image of your country than you. You abuse your country and don't see anything good. |
