It seems to me most people who have the image of tall dark and handsome men in their heads ( and parrot it incessantly), don't realize the mills and boon series which popularized this phrase, was referring to tall dark and handsome WHITE men ( meditteranean or arabic looking types).

But in actual fact, many ladies prefer the darker negro than the lighter ones.

But these end only with touts and hungry people in Rivers state. Responsible Rivers indigenes know Wike for who he is, they will never trust him.

I had a dream Friday night and it's giving me cause for concern.

I went to a bank with my ATM card to withdraw some money. All of a sudden I heard "everybody lie on the floor". I looked up and saw some men armed with AK 47 guns shouting. They were so fearsome that I avoided eye contact with them.

I hid my card in my under wears. I was contemplating whethet to call a police or not. I did not call for fear. Fortunately for me, the robbers didn't attack me.
They went their way. Some minutes later after getting up, I saw some policemen coming through the gate.

On giving girls attention: girls, and guys, need attention. The reason why people see problem with guys giving girls attention is because some girls don't respect their guys. If ur girl respects you, NOT giving her attention will cost u ur relationship. So, giving her attention isn't what should be reduced. Respect, or lack thereof, is what should be watched out for.

I believe the op aint talking wrt relationship. If I'm in a relationship with a lady, the rules change slightly. I'll definitely give her due attention. But when you are trying to win her love, you have to watch the type of attention you give to her.

Never heard of the Owo but the Binis are definitely epic with regards to their arts.The only stuff I would put above them are the Ife heads.The Ife heads are out of this world and are extremely beautiful.I like them alot .Bini folks seem to be quite artistic... I even like their wedding regalia..the coral beads and intricacy is dope.

I know a little about Ifa but I actually don't follow it though I know folks who follow it.I got invited to attend Shango Day which is being held here on 7th of June but I am not religious at all.I still have mad appreciation for African religious systems however.

It is interesting to see Yoruba gods in Bini arts though on nairaland Edo and Yoruba folks seem to have a supremacy battle to see who birthed who lol.I stumbled across a Ghanaian who said they are the same but Europeans decided to classify them as diffeent folks...so I don't know.What can't be denied is that they are indeed related however.That's something I need to research more.

I get your point on not returning them to Naija but I dunno...I still don't think it should be in the UK.It is sad that Naija folks don't appreciate their indigenous culture but I would say Yoruba and Bini folks are putting up a good fight towards holding onto their indigenous cultures though more needs to be done.That's black man for you...he calls his own culture evil.Indians don't apologize for Hinduism and actively practice it.

I actually like the idea of developing Osun state for tourism with regards to culture/heritage.So yea they should try to get the Ife heads and put it there.Nika is doing a good job in trying to keep the art of adire alive also.

Because of the world we're born into, it's a natural thing to undermine females. I personally am guilty of it sometimes. I apologize for seeing my period, for being female. A random guy tells me men don't like ladies who use dark lipstick & I stop using it. I automatically assume touchmeder (one of the best writers on nairaland) is male because she writes so well.

But feminism creeps in on you. You begin to wonder why even a stranger on the street tells you to "smile, you're a woman". Seriously? -__- Is there like a gene for smiling specially installed in females? You watch an extremely sexist movie that basically says men are gods & should be worshipped & "catered for" whether you feel like it or not. I'm not your f*cking slave.

And for those that will mention marriage now, marriage is not a gateway to heaven.

Don't take this to extreme... . Female will always be different from men in many aspects. It's more normal for a woman to have a cheerful countenance than men.
But I hope you women know that you can't eat your cake and have it. If being a strong woman is normal, then it should be normal for women to walk up to any guy she likes nd ask him out instead of the other way.
It should also be abormal for women to expect men to spend on them. Many women in our society ose their feminity to get what they want. But when it's the other way, they'll shout sexism.

Quite surprised to hear this. I personally consider him one of Nigeria's top conedians judging by some of his performances I've witnessed.
