Zeus I: Dude, there are so many place to experiment those. Say, getting yourself a day imployment in one mortuary for a night shift or travel to agulu-eri and challenge their herbalists or better still visit Aro-ndi-izogu and demand to shoot any man who presents self, if he lives, you will give him #100,000.00. That is how discovery is made.
I agree with you absoltely.
@poster. You can't just sit down at home and say that you don't believe in this or that. Go out and see for you self.
I have watched several documentaries.
There was a particular house that was said to be haunted. These set of scientists set hidden cameras in the room. At night, they saw chairs and tables moving in an empty room.
I don't know whether you've watched psychic detective before. These are facts that certain things which you would call superstition.
There's a graveyard in England where tourist have claimed to see ghosts who later vanished. A lady gave a vivid discription of a ghost she saw. It was discovered that it was Charles Dickens. I've watched quite a lot of documentaries and I've encountered certain things. If you want to know whether these things exist, go out and explore.

To get job na wahala, to keep job another wahal. To pass ssce or Jamb na war. Some people committed suicide because they failed ssce. I know people have died because of low GP.
Life can be unfair. May God help us all. At every stage, one will have to face obstacles. Its a pity that she has to die.

pro01: Very interesting thread. I belong(ed) to the same school of thought as the OP, but then - there are so many things I've seen and experienced in this society of ours that I just can't explain, which means that there is indeed a possibility, no matter how slim, that some of these 'superstitions' are real here. If I have to go into the tiny details and explanations, my post would be unbearably long, and I don't want anyone to accuse me of writing a 'thesis'.

In a nutshell, however, I think some sort of spiritual force exists that affects how things in the physical realm happen; but then, I also have doubts as to why, in Africa, this spiritual force is not replicable on a ceteris paribus basis. For instance, if a man supposedly has a formula that makes his body impenetrable to bullets and machete cuts, why can't that formula be reproduced on a mass scale and commercialised? ? ? Why would national armies not want to adopt that formula for their soldiers, if it really works? ? ?

Frankly, that is why the White Man's 'Jazz' is superior to ours: it can be replicated; it is science. Inventions such as the aeroplane, television, mobile phone, the almighty Internet, and pretty much everything else the White Man has invented are probably more spiritual than mental/intellectual, but the fact that they enshrined these inventions in reproducible science - and put forth the formulae in ways anyone can learn how to replicate ceteris paribus makes Africans look like cavemen when we talk about this our 'superstitions' that are inconsistent and unscientific. In any case, with all our superstition, mere shiploads of drunken White expeditionists conquered entire African kingdoms, colonised them, and whisked them off in droves into slavery. Since these superstitions are supposedly real, why did the African warriors not 'disappear' or overwhelm the White invaders with their black voodoo? ? ?

The thing is that I'm not quite sure what to believe anymore. On one hand, I doubt that these African superstitions hold water, but on the other hand, I have also seen things in our society that defy logical explanation - and reinforce the idea that 'Jazz' actually exists. I really don't know what to believe anymore to be honest.
I believe in the supernatural. Its vey obvious and I see why some people can't see it.
I'll try to answer your question. Black magic has its limitation. Satan can't help anyone when he/she wants him the most. That's the reason Africa was easily conquered.
Some times, I believe it is God who makes fool os diviners because of his sovereignty.

The poster seems to be confused. He says he believes magic exists and he claims to have witnessed some. Then why is it impossible for him to believe that evil could be perpetuated through this power?
Culture › Re: Do You Believe In These Superstitions? by vislabraye(m): 9:24pm On Aug 26, 2012
Its only naivety for some one to think that black magic doesn't exist.
What you call superstition is in fact supernatural occurence. The fact that you don't believe in electricity doesn't mean it does not exist.
There's something called enchantment and divination. I have witnessed some supernatural occurences so I know what I'm talking about.
May God help you.

You know the funny thing, most times it is God who decides to take the life of a recalcitrant fellow.
2Thess1:6 says that it is a righteous thing for God to punish those who persecute you.
If you know any man who's disturbing you, hand him over to God.

Nigerians are known to be notorious abroad.
I watched a documentary "Banged Up Abroad". Its a story about how foreigners get indicted for committing crimes in other countries.
There were three Americans who were caught for drug traffiking in Brazil and were sentenced to a maximum security prisons where you would dee hardened criminals. Guess what, Nigerians were there. They were very much at home in the cell running things.
To cut the long story short, these Nigerians were planning to escape and they did only to be caught later.

All you tribalists are foolish people. The people who caught him don't care whether he's Ibo or Yoruba. He's a Nigerian and carries a Nigerian passport and not Ibo passport.
It bothers me when I hear stories like this. When will this people learn that Malaysia and other Middle East countries are a no go area for drug traffikers?

I've heard somethings here. God is ab electromagnetic force.
When Moses stretched his hands to divide the red sea, it was electromagnetic force that brought it to play.
When Jesus turned water to wine I'm sure he was generating electromagnetic force.
Raising Lazarus from the dead was also magnetic force. Most of you New agers what have you used ur EM energy for? Except to astral project and at the end of the day develop headache.

If prayers can make water Holy, then any sound can do the same.
Saying that Jesus C is an avatar is a big insult. He's God. All things were made by him.

I'm not surprised it has escalated to tribal attack.
But I think Tinubu was showing him respect because of age and status. Generally, that's their culture. Buhari also bowed slightly.
However, I don't expect Johnattan to do that for Obama

You talk so much about esoteric knowledge and mysticism. Your own knowledge is hidden. Jesus Christ was simple. He didn't hide anything but he sought to reveal all things to us.
I'm sure you read the scriptures very well. Col2:8-14 warns against high sounding philosophies based on reprobate minds..(Paraphrase). Jesus is the wisdom of God and not all what you're saying.
If you astral travel, you're doing it through the help of demons.
I know you're searching for the Truth but you can't do that outside the teaching of Christ.
Christianity Etc › Re: God Defined; The Faith Is Electromagnetic Not Christianic by vislabraye(m): 3:46am On Aug 25, 2012
@poster. The summary of what you're saying is that God is inanimate but only a force.
In other word, according to you God doesn't exist.
You give scientific explanation to almost everything, but how come according to you an inanimate person was able to create man a living being.
Goodluck to you. My faith is not founded on a pastor but on Jesus Christ. God will reveal himself to you. When you encounter trouble, you'll know indeed there's God.
Politics › Re: Are The Yoruba The Number One In Religious Tolerance? by vislabraye(m): 3:04am On Aug 25, 2012
Yorubas are generally respectful. When it comes to religious tolerance, Christians (protestant xtians
if you put it that way) are the most tolerant irrespective of their tribe. For instance JW believe they're the only one who would make it to Heaven. Catholics don't like the pentecostals, in fact they were the ones who gave them the name, protestant which is very derogatory.
And ps don't even mention the religion of the Ismaelite. They are terror.
Religion is very powerful. It subdues cultural beliefs.

It seems the most successful athletes cheat. Some smart ones have retired successfully. While some have died as a result of complication.
Come to think of it, how many athletes have you heard die of heart attack after they retired. I know of some.
I'm convinced that Michael Phelps, Michael Johnson are drug cheats.
But as they say, cheating is a game when caught it is a crime.

I've been thinking for a while about the scientist whose invention or contribution has
benefitted mankind the most.
My favourite would be Isaac Newton.
He's the inventor of calculus which is applied in every aspect of science and technology. Also the laws of motion which has enabled us to launch rockets into space. He laid the foundation to many other inventions.

Most at times they are in the news for the wrong reasons. I don't understand Chris Oyaks motivation for the Billboard.

Only a fool would say there is no God. There are lots of evidence to prove the supernatural.
If you're student of history, you would learn that Jesus Christ died and rose again. There's alo evidence to show the ark existed. May be the atheists are oblivious of the miracles that take place.
Its only a fool that would say God doesn't exist. And if God doesn't exist there's no supernatural.

Even if you watch discovery channel you would hear some stories that would shock you.
Christianity Etc › Re: Encounter Of Heaven And Hell by vislabraye(op): 8:41am On Aug 24, 2012
I see reason to what deebrain said. "If satan and his demons are beeing tormented which power will they have to torture others. "
But I know hell is real and it exists contrary to what many people say. I donnot need a revelation to know.
If the story of the rich man and Lazarus is a parable then what was Jesus Christ trying to pass across. Every parable has its meaning.
Culture › Whats Your View On Demonic Toys by vislabraye(op): 1:54am On Aug 24, 2012
Some one shared this experience which got me thinking.
There was this particular girl who was five years old. She was given a babie doll as a gift.
One day as she was playing with it, she experienced a mysterious surge come over her like a current. At that moment she started masturbating.
From that time till date, she has become a lesbian.
I was shocked hearing this. I have come to understand that one needs to be very careful.

@justaqad.
Its the soul of the man that would be destroyed and not the body. Remember the rich when he was in hell told Abraham to send Lazarus to give him a drop of water.
Jesus spoke about hell as a place of torment. How the torment would go I don't know.
