In the last cases of Rivers and Akwa-Ibom governorship elections, the Supreme Court ruled that it was right to rig elections. The Supreme Court ruled that irregularities in the election process including rigging, buying of votes, intimidation and harassment of voters by military and paramilitary men, ballot stuffing, e.t.c. are not enough to make elections invalid. Therefore, elections can be won by any means...

Politics / Re: July 29th 1966 Coup Wasn't A Coup But An Orchestrated Genocide by Volksfuhrer(m): 2:55pm On Jul 29, 2016
36xtr93r:

Political violence in SW led to the January 15, 1966 coup. The coup which was led by an Igbo army officer from the then Midwestern region also comprised of Yoruba military officers...

Yes, some Yoruba military officers were "involved." But that isn't the whole truth! The coup was Ifeajuna's baby; Nzeogwu, Ademoyega and co were only willing tools used to bring to light a darker part of another conspiracy unbeknown to them. Ifeajuna's plans were to eliminate every enemy of NCNC in the realm: hence the pattern of killings. Ifeajuna didn't fail as some would have us believe, his own vision of the coup was executed flawlessly to the utter disgust of Nzeogwu!

Yes, the Five Majors "agreed" to eliminate all corrupt politicians, including the Premiers of the regions, but Ifeajuna had other plans! While Nzeogwu was busy killing all targets assigned to him, Ifeajuna and co were cherry-picking their own list of targets. And that misdirection...was the major tragedy of the whole episode.

Even after the fact of this misadventure, Orizu Nwafor (The Vice President) tried to swear in the Deputy Prime Minister (Sam Mbadiwe) instead of Dipcharima (The new NPC leader) as acting Prime Minister? When that failed, Orizu had a secret meeting with Ironsi, who then insisted he seize power. Is there still a mystery why Ifeajuna and co spared Ironsi? Ironsi was backup for the original intention to put NCNC leaders in power! Forget the "Awolowo" smokescreen: that was only a ruse to recruit Nzeogwu, Ademoyega and co.

The NPC leaders were not fooled. They played along, waited, bade their time and struck in like manner, but this time on a more sadistic scale. Perhaps, the pogrom in the North could have been avoided if Ironsi had been less clannish with governance. If Ifeajuna's blood-lust was a mistake, Ironsi's mis-governance was one mistake too many for the Northern leaders who wanted revenge.

Forget the five majors, the putsch in January 1966 was never a coup in the real sense: it was nothing but Ifeajuna's plan to put away the enemies of NCNC!

You re deluded n brainwashed. Ironsi foiled the coup together with Ojukwu . Both did not support the coup that why it did not succeed. Your fathers told u liers about what happened in that era.

Which coup did not succeed? Did you mean Ifeajuna's coup? Go figure. Why did you think they left Ironsi alive? The coup succeeded in removing all the enemies of Igbo and placed power in the hands of Igbo, to the annoyance of Nzeogwu who called Ifeajuna and co "tribalists!"

And please, don't ask me to read Ademoyega's book, that empty tale of Ifeajuna's mugun. Ifeajuna's coup was one of a kind, a masterpiece!

Politics / Re: Fani-Kayode: Nigeria's 3rd Mahdi & Last Of Amalekite Kings by Volksfuhrer(m): 2:48pm On Jul 26, 2016
Nasiruddeen:
CHRISTIANS ARE TROUBLE SHOOTERS.
When cat sit down looking and rat started fiddling with its tail, definitely anything could happen. Christians hypocrisy is highly commendable. They look for trouble where non exist and pretend as innocents. There are series of attack against the Christians by hoodlums mistakenly taken as Muslims because they also acts beyond their boundaries. It is very clear that no Muslim will ever kill when he knows the repercussion.
However, whenever there is any attack, people including the press should look into the issue criticality before reactions or comments.
In most cases, Christians are the real causes of most problems. For God's sake, how could a woman stood at the front of a mosque shouting or preaching Jesus to disturb. It is only a fool that will see a man with a gun and start arguing with him. This habit is very rampant with the Christians.
The same thing happened at the front of a mosque here in Lagos. Also, a woman went to a central mosque on a Friday, disguised as a Muslim. When Muslims started prayer, she stood up to start preaching. She said if you like bow down 100 times, if you do not accept Jesus, you are going to hell. Imagine this on a Friday at a mosque.
********************
SOLUTION
Government should ban preaching in buses, streets and houses. There should be a moderation to the establishment of churches. What can we say about a certain denomination of Christianity that chooses to establish churches in every nook and corner of the country. On a street, they can have 3 to 4 of their churches. What will happen if other faiths also chooses to establish their religion houses everywhere.
They should ban all these for the sake of peace &,tranquility and prevention of chaos in the society.
What will happen if all religions station their people every where to start shouting. Honestly speaking, Muslims overlook many things which Christians can never allow to let go.
An example of this was/is the hijab case. The Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) sees nothing bad in those dressing nakedly but rather deemed it necessary to fight against Muslims who chooses to keep to the law of God.
All necessary things must be put in place before penalties. Nobody must infringe on another person's right. Nobody should disturb the Muslims in their houses, inside buses, on the streets. Muslims should not be denied of their rights.

ACT OF TERRORISM
In many Islamic states in the World, things were going on smoothly until the West started their plot against Islam.
A former pastor, Mathew Oyewole confessed openly how America employed the services of many pastors, Evangelists, Bishops around the world which he was part of to cause confusion in Islam and to ensure non existence of Islam in Africa.
They used Saddam, Osama and many others and then, they were known as FREEDOM FIGHTERS, When these people turned against being used against the Muslim States, they tagged them TERRORIST.
NIGERIA MUSLIMS TOLERANT TURNED STUPIDITY.
Nigeria Muslims, especially the Yorubas are known to be tolerant and peace loving people but my fear led to the question y.
I will deal with this in the next post INSHA-ALLAH

"Christians are the real causes of problems..." Really? Where did that come from?
It's obvious you are an educated person, yet you employed fallacies to buttress your proposition. There are quite a few jihadist terrorists in the world, killing people in the name of religion, but does this fact make all Muslims terrorists? Yes, the "Christian" that goes into a mosque to cause trouble is wrong, but using that example to castigate other Christians is equally absurd!

Yes, Muslims shouldn't be denied their rights; neither should any Christian be denied the rights to life and fair hearing!

Yes, Yoruba Muslims are tolerant... not because they are Muslims but for the fact that they are Yorubas!

With your education, you shouldn't be visceral when responding to events around you.
Politics / Re: Why I Excluded Private Sector Players In Economic Team – Buhari by Volksfuhrer(m): 10:50am On Jul 25, 2016
PMB is right. Many of the economic policies of the Federal Government, from SAP in 1986 till date, have all concentrated wealth in the hands of the few and dispersed misery in the lives of the many. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that selfish interest drove those economic policies. It is also true that many in the private sector are capable of economic sabotage to advance their selfish interests. But this isn't peculiar to Nigeria, it's everywhere!

However, my problem with the president isn't about this obvious conflict of interest but how he manages it. For instance, need he tell the world out loud why "private sector people" aren't prominent in his economic team? Besides, I believe there are still good people, albeit a few, in the private sector whose experience could provide more colour and energy to PMB's economic team.

Hmmmm.....

The prof would probably need to be schooled by Senator Okorunmu and Pastor Tunde Bakare

Has he looked at the wisdom of the proponents of "Nigeria Restructuring ". Late Pa Anthony Enahoro, Late NADECO ace, Abraham Adesanya and others.

The current Nigeria is governed by a Constitution drafted by the Military boys such that a technical absolute power resides with the executive.

All control of resources, all appointments, all authority, etc, etc, technically speaking comes from the executive

It stripes each state + regions of the capabilities to evolve and develop and thus become subservient to the centre.

Worst still is the denial that we are one Nigeria, which has never been the case and can never be with a style of government where the center rules all.

The sure way out is to allow what the founding fathers of Nigeria had created, a federal system which recognised the different components that made up Nigeria and thus gave autonomy, resource control to the then regional government. And this worked perfectly well until the military boys spoiled everything with a useless constitution that has bedevilled us to this day.

Nigeria surely needs to be restructured by the following. ..

1. Devolve power to the states or region
2. Give back resource control to their owners and see if resource management will not be at its zenith
3. Allow for state police
4. Restore true fiscal federalism

All these were addressed to some reasonable length at the 2014 confab. Start from there

This is not a PDP vs APC thing. This is the only project that can keep Nigeria as a working country

QED.......

Even though I disagree with the VP on regionalism, I understand clearly his position. I believe he wants restructuring without regionalism.

Why wouldn't I honour the invitation. You see, when love is perfect, it casts out fear...(1John 4:18).

Besides, "...the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost."(Romans 14:17).

Finally, "If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake." (1Cor 10:27).

So, if the President invites you to his table and there's peace in your heart to honour it, then do so.

A warning here is in order nevertheless, if you don't have the faith to eat at such tables, then you are 'damned' if you go there to eat; because, whatever you do without faith is sin! (Romans 14:23).

You guys will never stop being so little, so petty, so localized and so bestial in thought-process.
The Universe, the multiverse is vast and limitless to the mind, and all that the little minds think of is, Yoruba nation, Igbo nation, Arewa Nation, Ijaw Nation, Nations, Nations, Nations, all these nations within a so-called Nigeria Nation. Yet when you are told to live as that Yoruba Nation, you cry that Biafra must remain in Nigeria, the Hausas will cry that we must die for One Nigeria.
Will you guys ever stop and think about what created you all and what developed the lanuguage you speak ? Have you ever ask yourself which organ in your body is totally different from the ones in the bodies of people of other tribes. I guess none.
Oh Yes, but you accept to be defined by the way you twist your mouth and tongue and how the wind makes the sound called language.
Be very ashamed to be defined by language, you little pricks.
Billyonaire:

The crux of the matter is that this country has Police and Soldiers who are incompetent of handling domestic violence. From militancy to herdsmen attacks, from kidnap to terrorism, but these same security forces are very effective in killing peaceful protesters and arresting political opposition members both the corrupt and in-corrupt.

If Niger Delta militants are actually the ones killing those Yorubas, and we have many tribes at Niger Delta, which of those tribes will Yorubas retaliate against ? If you say its ijaws, then it becomes tribal war. Which is exactly what happened at Rwanda.

I want crime to be called a crime, not a tribal crime. We should stop using the word, Fulani herdsmen, cos Hausas may be involved too. We should stop using the words like Ijaw militants, cos itsekiri may be involved. Not even words like Yoruba agberos. We are giving ethnic coloration to national security crisis...

God bless you, my brother. May peace never depart from thy abode!

It's an inefficient way to tackle unemployment. FG's recurrent expenditure is already stifling economic development, and yet you propose the FG add more to this problem. Developing critical infrastructure is a better alternative. Wasting more money on indolent civil servants is not the way to go.
