no

A responsible government will give them a lane to operate in. Give then a standard of bike to use, have a proper identification system for all of them. Etc
A lane to operate on roads that were built for cars and buses to travel because of Okada riders?

I've asked you what happens when in future the rail lines work?

Would we begin to sabotage the railway because the poor Okada man can no longer function?

was the economy this bad then?

You people should be careful. If the poor have nothing left to eat, they will turn and start eating you soon. Nigeria has never been this bad since history. And this is making it worse
When was the economy ever good, please tell us?

Oh...you dont live here...that explains it!
Simple English is difficult for you to understand.

Okada did not make it's way into Lagos state before 1990.

Ask anyone old enough to remember Lagos state before their influx.

what skill have you gained? Don't stay in your high horse and think it is easy to be in thier shoes.
Don't ask me silly questions.

There is a reason why I would never be an Okada rider.

As I've once said on this forum, I knew a farmer from Cross River state many years ago, who I met riding Okada in Lagos barely a few months after I had left the projects we were handling there.

When I accosted him about it, he said he wanted to taste city life.

I asked about his farm and he said he would return to it should things not favour him in Lagos.

Years later, I heard he broke his leg from his Okada riding. The severity of it, I dont know.

I stay in Lagos and I don support this. In sure there are over a million bike in Lagos.

This move has affected a million families, killed a whole industry, from the bike mechanic to the spare parts suppliers. In all I'm sure over 2 million people have been affected by this move and renderred jobless. That's almost the population of Gambia.

My guy this is wrong
You live in Lagos but ordinary Nairaland likes and shares show it is a popular decision.

What million families were banking on using okadas for livelihood forever?

I'm sure if rail systems worked we would still be crying over potentially 2 million people whose jobs would be at stake if it is so efficient.

Abeg, I've once lived in Lagis without anything like Okada playing our roads and we did not die.

what happened to regulating them? Almajiris have as much right to live in Lagos as you do. By the way I'm not from the north, but the truth has to be said.
The regulation is that you cannot operate in marked out areas.

Are you ignoring that?

You mean pickpockets?

Educate us on how they would operate because as far as we know, they cannot operate with Okada.

Smaller cities banned them and yet no spike in crimewave.

no they have the right to live everywere they please. And it's the government duty to ensure they do their business and live peacefully. Old man
No, that is not government's duty.

The government would determine the kind of business you can fo in a certain area if you meet set criteria.

The removal of Okada riders from our metropolitan roads are well received and applauded by most Lagosians.

I don't know your tribal origin but it would do well to open your homestead to as many Okada riders you can, as a show of support for their rights.

There are 91 million extremely poor people today in Nigeria. That's almost the population of West Africa, twice the population of South Africa and that's because of misgovernance. Instead of regulating them you come out and ban them and see if they won't survive . Does that make sense?

All they are guilty of is trying to survive in this same government induced poverty. no one will go and drive bike or Keke of they have a job .
What skill do they have other than bike riding?

I see no point for this arrest. Hypochondriacs are paranoid people that believe they've caught every infection under the sun. They exist everywhere in the world and they can be a tad dramatic. That shouldn't call for an arrest should it?
They should be held in a medical facility, preferably a mental health facility, through which they would be monitored and if necessary, medicated.

Obaseki would win the pdp ticket whilst APC would have another candidate.

Should Obaseki win,he'll decamp to APC by so doing ensuring pdp is ostracized from the seat.

Some people here in Nigeria would protest and set fire on American flags and says 'Death to America' whenever American has issues or trying to destroy terrorists elsewhere. The Nigerian government has never issued any statement dissociating themselves from the protesters which means they are subtly in support. Couple with homegrown terrorists killing Nigerians on daily basis while the government doesn't care. The few ones arrested are later let go and even recruited into the Army.

Which serious foreign government wouldn't act?
How many northerners have you ever come across in the US or its embassies?

Senate President, Lawan Confirms Central Security System Has Failed In ...
America covers up by claiming shooters to be lone gunmen when they are indeed terrorists.
As such, the general outlook on these terrorists is that they are crazed individuals who need help rather than blood-hungry people motivated by political or religious zeal.

Central security means policing from afar. Appears they have to break everything down to molecular level for you.

Local policing system would be much more effective in a world where people use technology such as mobile phones and vehicles to operate.

The bigger questions is why are Nigerians fulfilled abroad but are being slaughtered and are unemployed back home??

Why do they have so much joy and economic prosperity in the land of strangers but can't travel on the highway in Nigeria?

Everything else is just noise.
If I was trump, I would wonder what type of president would allow his citizens to be slaughtered like cows? And then say he is surprised!
But even in Trump's country they slaughter themselves like goats everyday.

Nigerians dont earn dollars.

For 4 years the dollar to Naira has been stable.

By the way, the GDP Per Capita is 2 thousand dollars annually.

Oga titiku must you politicize every thing all cos u lost out at d last election? Hell no. US travel ban against Nigeria should not be attributed to buhari's failure. Note previous administrations which Mr atiku was also part of failed Nigeria and Nigerians woefully. In recent times, some notorious Nigerians living in the States had painted our dear father land in a very bad light by engaging in interned related fraudulent activities. If Mr Trump has decided to bilacklist Nigeria, then it is left for our leaders to sit up and do the needful to remedy the already damaged image of our dear country Nigeria. Its our collective fault but our so called leaders has the most part of the blame.
Atiku and his goons made a national identity scheme become a jamboree without a result when as usual, they looted funds for same project.

Incidentally, Nigeria of Today, for you to obtain a travel passport, you must obtain a national identity card whilst your passport is truly electronic and must be activated before use.

I wonder what more Trump demands beyond nigeria giving his country a full dossier on every single citizen as if we are his underlings.

He should go to hell.

seriously? Did you read the reasons for the ban? In Nigeria, it's possible for someone to commit a crime, go to jail with a fake name or simply relocate to another city and start a new life, then someday, migrate to the US. You don't think that's a serious failure of the Nigerian government?
Can't an example be given?
