plappville:Christmas is celebration and commemoration of Incarnation |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Zh-yR0pbmU Holy Night Lyrics Christmas Carol Lyrics Pause Music ! O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining, It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth. Long lay the world in sin and error pining. Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth. A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn. Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices! O night divine, the night when Christ was born; O night, O Holy Night , O night divine! O night, O Holy Night , O night divine! Led by the light of faith serenely beaming, With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand. O'er the world a star is sweetly gleaming, Now come the wisemen from out of the Orient land. The King of kings lay thus lowly manger; In all our trials born to be our friends. He knows our need, our weakness is no stranger, Behold your King! Before him lowly bend! Behold your King! Before him lowly bend! Truly He taught us to love one another, His law is love and His gospel is peace. Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother. And in his name all oppression shall cease. Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we, With all our hearts we praise His holy name. Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we, His power and glory ever more proclaim! His power and glory ever more proclaim! |
fckmn24seg:Why drink and drive? Life moves on like you never existed
|
frank317:Does the fact that you don't know Subaru manufacturer mean they never manufactured the Subaru? You are funny In short what you don't know does not exist. The blind man who has never seen the sun lives in a sunless Galaxy? Is your reality governed by your knowledge? |
frank317:You made that up. Be humble enough to at least say you don't have any proof. You can ask for proof of you are really interested. |
dolphinheart:Hopelessly hollow reasoning 1.How often do you have holy communion? 2.If not on a daily basis? Does it mean that in between the communion you are not proclaiming nor remembering the Lord's death? 3.Pagans long chose Sunday to worship the sun. Christians chose the day to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Do Christians worship the sun by setting apart Sunday? 4. Bible verses and chapters equally have no precedence in ' our worship to jehovah, Jesus , his disciples, the apostles, early christians never formulated, observe or practise such....'. Why do you use verses in your bible? 5. Had you lived in the first century, would you have you eaten food offered to idols? 6. Which scripture does celebrating the Incarnation and worshipping Jesus Christ violate? Cc image123 |
ValentineMary:When dealing with 'evidence' of evolution, I usually ask for a definition of terms just to make sure we are on the same page. The reason is evolutionists are notorious for bait-and-switch tactics of switching meaning of terms into their arguments to confuse you. For instance, in one short paragraph you have defined evolution as adaptation and 'modification of cells' Briefly define what evolution is and then give your BEST proof for it. Only then can we examine your 'proof' |
frank317:It is a fact you can't prove that God doesn't exist, but this is no proof for existence of God. Why this argument is employed by those who believe in God is because those who don't categorically CLAIM God does not exist. So it is actually a demand in them to substantiate their claims. At this point, they back down and actually claim there is no proof for God's existence. The theists will respond by asking what proof would suffice for them and so forth..... So you can see this is not really proving a negative but really demanding evidence for a claim. But I repeat, it is no proof for existence of God |
Image123:Thank you for the correction. Have you ever thought about real as opposed to imagined pagan practice of offering food to idols and then eating it in 1 Cor 8? While it is debatable exactly how 'pagan' Christmas is, this was a clearly pagan practice yet Paul appeals to conscience. This tells me thAt Christmas even if it were to be proved 'pagan' is a far less offensive activity. So I have always tried to get to the hearts of anti-Christmas brigade....what really motivates them in opposing it? Probable reasons 1. They are raised in sects that oppose it and for conformity purposes, they oppose it as well regardless of how (un)founded the opposition is 2. They misunderstand the purpose of Christmas, and thus manifest a zeal but not according to knowledge 3. They are proud, self righteous bunch simply out to prove themselves better than the next guy 4. They are rebels without cause. Some will just oppose norm for the heck of it, they will sleep during the day and stay up at night just to be different While I can't discern the motive for each opponent, I can easily pick sectarian opponents like dolphinheart because for the past 15 years, I have heard Jehovah's Witnesses regurgitating the arguments he is advancing here VERBATIM |
zeemahn:When we meet my Negro...when we meet. Merry Christmas and stay safe sir, I need to pick your brains next year ![]() |
ValentineMary:Can't prove a negative. The burden of proof is on you to prove that it is true. Can you prove that there is no a ten legged sub species of a buffalo? |
zeemahn:Can I buy you a drink? |
plappville:My brother, I don't even know a tithe of all there is to know. How can I be proud? But one thing I know for sure, the 'pagan connection' in Christmas is blown out of proportion by a bunch of self-righteous feeble hearts, just like those who in 1 Cor 8 stumbled over food offered to idols |
plappville:Jesus was not born on December 25th, it may have been implied so but we know it is not true. Jesus' date of birth is irrelevant as is the date of his death. What is important is his birth and death and of course resurrection. Christmas celebrates his birth, God/Word made flesh. One may choose to major on minors such as church seating arrangement, choir, lighting, instruments in a church gathering, or major on the major; FELLOWSHIP. Likewise on Christmas am least interested in Christmas tree, lighting, Santa and other minors. I wisely choose to focus on Christ , God manifested in the Flesh. I have little tolerance for pettiness ![]() Please study 1 Corinthians 8 and tell me whether you'd stumble over food freshly offered to pagan deities |
dolphinheart:Once you have learnt what I have shared, I will proceed to demolish your hypocrisy and feebleness. Otherwise I will choke you with knowledge. Meditate on this first, and click OK when ready |
dolphinheart:You have appealed to watchtower mantra here and none of your own thinking so it is very relevant |
Avoidhellfire:What do you gain in showing your defiance? |
plappville:Did you know there were no chapters or verses in the bible? These were invented later. Does the fact that they are totally absent from the bible make them wrong? Your job ought to be not just proving that birthdays are not celebrated in scriptures, but to prove how celebrating them contradicts any scriptures |
dolphinheart:Yo believe one too many things. Explain to me this; Is Watchtower the sole infallible interpreter of scriptures? |
dolphinheart:you are totally bereft of reason. We are commanded to take the Lord's Table. Do you do it daily or how often do you do it? Do you attempt to do it on the day Jesus died? Likewise, Christmas is not marking the day Jesus was born but celebrating His incarnation 1 Corinthians 8 on food offered to idols is a good point to learn from. Food offered to idols is paganism and it caused the weak and feeble minded like you to stumble because they imagined eating as equivalent to worshipping idols. Yet Paul is clear, it is a matter of conscience. If such a clear interaction with paganism is left to conscience, how much more Christmas whose 'paganism' is essentially in the past! There is nothing pagan in commemorating Christ's incarnation unless Christ is a pagan deity |

plappville:It's Christians job to teach the essence of Christmas; INCARNATION John 1:14 (KJV) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 1 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpkI7GW2V34 The Christmas Shoes~ Newsong NEWSONG The Christmas Shoes Lyrics It was almost Christmas time, there I stood in another line Trying to buy that last gift or two, not really in the Christmas mood Standing right in front of me was a little boy waiting anxiously Pacing 'round like little boys do And in his hands he held a pair of shoes And his clothes were worn and old, he was dirty from head to toe And when it came his time to pay I couldn't believe what I heard him say Chorus: Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my Mama, please It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size Could you hurry, sir, Daddy says there's not much time You see she's been sick for quite a while And I know these shoes would make her smile And I want her to look beautiful if Mama meets Jesus tonight He counted pennies for what seemed like years Then the cashier said, "Son, there's not enough here" He searched his pockets frantically Then he turned and he looked at me He said Mama made Christmas good at our house Though most years she just went without Tell me Sir, what am I going to do, Somehow I've got to buy her these Christmas shoes So I laid the money down, I just had to help him out And I'll never forget the look on his face when he said Mama's gonna look so great Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my Mama, please It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size Could you hurry, sir, Daddy says there's not much time You see she's been sick for quite a while And I know these shoes would make her smile And I want her to look beautiful if Mama meets Jesus tonight Bridge: I knew I'd caught a glimpse of heaven's love As he thanked me and ran out I knew that God had sent that little boy To remind me what Christmas is all about Repeat Chorus Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my Mama, please It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size Could you hurry, sir, Daddy says there's not much time You see she's been sick for quite a while And I know these shoes would make her smile And I want her to look beautiful if Mama meets Jesus tonight I want her to look beautiful if Mama meets Jesus tonight. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JIVojLyymE what Child is This/This is out God~ Travis Cottrel Lyrics: Verse 1 What Child is this, who, laid to rest on Mary’s lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet, While shepherds watch are keeping? Chorus This, this is Christ, the King, Whom shepherds guard, and angels sing. Haste, haste to bring Him laud, The Babe, the Son, the Glorious One, The Babe, the Son of Mary. This is Our God Verse 1 Who is this Child asleep in the manger? Tender and mild, this intimate stranger? Recklessly, wildly loving a dangerous world. Who is this Light invading our darkness? Glorious might, the sun rising for us. Conquering might, He captures the hardest of hearts. We sing: Chorus 1 This is our God, living and breathing, Gm7 Bb Call Him courageous, relentless and brave. This is our God, loving and reaching, Scandalous mercy and mighty to save. Hallelujah! This is our God! Hallelujah! This is our God Hallelujah! This is our God! Sing praise. Verse 2 Who is this One who will not condemn us? Why would He come to shoulder our sentence? Nothing we've done will keep Him from giving us grace. Who is this One? We watch and we’re speechless. God’s only Son, embracing our weakness. He overcomes all death and He frees us to live. And we sing: This is Our God Chorus 1 This is our God, living and breathing, Call Him courageous, relentless and brave. And we sing: Chorus 2 This is our God, suffering and dying. Call Him the Hero, redeeming the lost. This is our God, love sacrificing, All that is holy, accepting our cross. Hallelujah! This is our God! Hallelujah! This is our God Hallelujah! This is our God! Sing praise. Chorus 1 This is our God, living and breathing, Call Him courageous, relentless and brave. This is our God, loving and reaching, Scandalous mercy and mighty to save. Hallelujah! This is our God! Hallelujah! This is our God Hallelujah! This is our God! Sing praise. Sing praise. Sing praise. Sing praise! Oh, this, this is Christ the King, Whom shepherds guard and angels sing. Haste, haste to bring Him laud, the Babe, the Son of Mary! This, this is Christ the King, Whom shepherds guard and angels sing! Haste, haste to bring Him laud, The Babe, the Son, the glorious One, the Babe the So |
