Dynamite02: Proclaiming his death should be our utmost priority,I observe he anniversary of christ death,to me it is the greatest expression of love ever, which I appreciate. Besides, on the night before he died, Jesus INSTRUCTED his disciples to commemorate the sacrifice that he was about to make. He told them:“Keep doing this in remembrance of me.”— Luke 22:19.
It is important we please God in EVERYTHING we do. The Bible encourages us to think for ourselves, to use our “power of reason.” ( Romans 12:1, 2) It teaches us to value the truth. (John 4:23, 24) ,if we follow every band wagon of customs, tradition and celebrations around us....would we be showing that we are worshipping God in "TRUTH"? So it very important, we adhere to Bible principles even if it means that we become unpopular. Some die while commemorating what Jesus commanded. This tells you anything can be abused This is no popularity contest so quit victimhood. And nobody is asking you to celebrate just because others are celebrating All I need from you is scriptural proof Christmas violates any part of scriptures. Please do it |

plappville: At least you can tell your children the truth from the bold. When i was a child, i was told Jesus was born on 25th dec thats why we celebrate his birthday. I grown up and discovered i was made to believe a lie for many years. Of course you can choose to celebrate anyday as special day for you. But the historical bitter truth of this December 25th is unchanged. Its not how you want it but how God wants it. Do you choose for God or He chooses for you? This so-called festival you now call Christmas is even older than Christianity itself. Its just the name and traditions that were modified. Thesame way Muhammad try to used the Meccan pagan shrine to be Gods holy site. We cant force God to accept things. In the bible. We see how God rejects some people who were so sure in thier heart that their sacrifice /offerings will go straight to God. But got dissapointed. We cant say God is pleased with Christmas or He is not pleased with it. We know for sure that. Man cant choose for God. And Christmas was a feast created by man and then tagged Jesus with it. Pagans celebrated deities 1500 years ago, Christians celebrate the King of Kings You can't switch the two any more than you can switch sun worship with commemoration of resurrection on Sunday |

Dynamite02: Yeah! Celebrate Jesus at all times......not just one day and how do we celebrate him?. Christ suffered for you, leaving you a model for you to follow his steps closely.” (1 Peter 2:21) To honour, remember and celebrate Jesus, one should study his example as a perfect, intelligent man, and look for opportunities to imitate him in your own life.
Millions who celebrate the holiday do not put faith in him; some do not even believe that he existed. In the commercial world, Christmas has become a holiday to advertise goods rather than an occasion to remember Jesus. Christmas is nothing but a pagan festival covered with a Christian veneer. Christmas, therefore, dishonour God and his Son, Jesus Christ. Should we then handle this as a trivial matter? The Bible asks: “What fellowship do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what sharing does light have with darkness?” ( 2 Corinthians 6:14) Like the trunk of a tree that has grown crooked,Christmas is so twisted that it “cannot be made straight.”— Ecclesiastes 1:15. You partake the Lord's table once in a while and in so doing you proclaim the Lord's death but don't tell me that in between this you don't proclaim His death or remember it. Sunday was set apart in commemoration of the Lord's resurrection. Millions do all kind of stuff on Sunday, this does not subtract the fact that the day is set aside to commemorate Resurrection. Scriptures themselves have been abused to justify Inquisition, Crusades, slavery, colonialism, wars, executions....and I have heard eloquent arguments against Christianity on this account. In short, solution to abuse is proper use not disuse. Cc image123,dolphinheart |

vinceton: The fact that a celebration is popular does not make it right. Christmas celebration is not biblical. That a group of Christians resolved to pick a date for it does not, make it a Christian celebration approved by God. The scriptures encourage us not to add to the bible or subtract from it. Christmas is a pagan celebration please. Show what part of scripture is violated by celebrating Jesus Christ incarnation |

The mode/method of church celebration is also important. Are the method or ways in which it is celebrated found in the scriptures or in pagan religion. So, what date do you partake the Lord's Table? |

Its in the Month of Abib on the Jewish calender later called Nisan. On the 14 he had the Passover and introduced his remembrance. On 15 he was killed.

Skills10: There you go. we are at it again.
The truth is most people are teaching for doctrine the commandment of men. I will put Christmas into the same category of What God says versus what Men teach.
A. Steps Of Salvation
1. Hear the word(Rom 10: 17) 2. Believe(Mark 16:15) 3. Repent of your sins.(Acts 2:44) 4. Confess Jesus as the Son Of God(Rom 10:9-10). 5 Water Baptism(Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16; I pet 3:21).
I will dwell on Baptism. Baptism saves you.(1 Pet 3:21.) You cannot be Born Again BEFORE Water Baptism.(Your So called Men Of God do not teach this)
Most Denominations today dont dwell on Water Baptism as a step towards being Born Again.
People rather twist God's Command and give a wrong information on How Men are being Saved.
Men say if you want to be born again: say after me. Lord Jesus, I know im a sinner. etc. Then they tell you to Join a bible believing Church.
Water Baptism Saves you. John 3:3; 1 Pet 3:21
You dont Join any Church. God adds you to the Church.
The Church is important in God's Plan Of Salvation.(Heb 12:23)
It is Only the faithful Ones in the Church that will be saved in the end.
B. Women Pastors/ Women Leading Prayers In Churches:
A Pastor according to the Scripture is Only reserved for Men. 1 Tim 3:1-7
A WOMAN CANNOT BE CALLED A PASTOR.
The Bible uses the word Pastor, Overseer, Bishop and Elder interchangeably in the New testament.(Based on the work) A Position Only meant for Men. He must be a Husband of One wife and not a Wife of One Husband.
I am not a Male Chauvinist. I am only reminding us what God commanded through Apostle Paul.
A Woman Cannot Lead in Prayers in the Church where there are Believing Men.
It is A Shameful thing for a woman to lead in Prayers in Worship.( 1 Tim 2:8; 1 Cor 14:34).
These are just a few examples of how men have twisted God's Law.
As for Christmas, Jesus Christ whom you are Celebrating his birth commanded all his followers to Observe the Lord's Supper every Sunday(Acts 20:7; Lk 22:19:
Luke 22:19: And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying,"This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
You choose to remember Christmas- (A day Jesus Christ was not born) but You disregard the Lord's Supper(A command of Jesus to All his followers through which He should be remembered).
It is a mystery that God did not reveal the day Jesus was born. Deut 29:29. The secret things(Like when Jesus was born) belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. We commemorate his death without knowing he date or day of his death. This means we need not know his date of birth to celebrate it Romans 14:5-6 (NKJV) 5 One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks. |
