@iniguy course i'm right. I think many people will agree with me that MTN is one of the most stable networks when it comes to their tariffs and plans.

MTN xtra cool is the counterpart of xtra connect. You can't expect to do midnite calls every nite and have friends and family tariffs, you must choose one. Here s the contrast between xtra cool and xtra connect:

Xtra cool offers free night calls while Xtra connect does not.
Xtra cool sms costs #5 per sms while Xtra connect costs #7 per sms.
Xtra cool offers free mms every month while Xtra connect does not.
Xtra cool does not do friends and family while Xtra connect allows 4 friends and family numbers for lower tariffs.
Xtra cool calls as charged at #0.53k or #0.48k during off-peak periods per sec while Xtra connect calls are charged at #0.50k or #0.42k during off-peak periods.
Xtra connect offers more call me backs every day than Xtra cool.
So as you can see above there must be a balance between the two tariff plans. Migration is free for the first time in a month, subsequent migrations are charged at #100.

Music/RadioRe: First It Was Elvis The Pelvis, Then Mj And Madonna. Whose Next? by WackyJ1(op): 3:12pm On Aug 20, 2009
Its just your opinion. But why do you think those people should be kings or queens

OMG!!!! What is she wearing? Looks like she's wearing an apron and exposing the folds of skin at her back and she even exposing her br***ts in the front view pics. Even the gospel singers are falling for the fashion trend in 9ja
Music/RadioFirst It Was Elvis The Pelvis, Then Mj And Madonna. Whose Next? by WackyJ1(op): 12:03pm On Aug 20, 2009
First it was Elvis the pelvis, the hillbilly cat, the King of rock and roll in the early 1990's  (1935 to 1977). Then it was Michael Jackson in the late 1990's and early 2000  and Madonna. These people where the people who made an impact (A very big one) in their time and where hence forth dubbed King or queen of their various music types. My question is simply WHOSE NEXT? Is it just me or does it seem that musicians of these days are going nowhere and the days of kings and queens of music are gone. If you were asked to vote for your  favourite musicians(Male and Female) to be king and queen who would it be? Which upcoming artiste or existing one is going to be the king and queen of a his music type. I'v heard that lady gaga is likely to be the next queen of pop. Say who is your favourite male and female artiste and why you like the person so much that you would like then to be king and queen.
Music/RadioRe: Wande Coal Fights Don Jazzy by WackyJ1(m): 11:42am On Aug 20, 2009
Wande coal should not have made a fuss like that if he was suspecting a foul play cos it was bound to attract much attention. He should hav talked to don jazzy about he believes. According to what i heard wande coal is the only artiste making sense in Nigerian music today. And for crying out loud who are those f***king inside sources that are spreading rumours, if it was actually true can they KEEP THEIR MOUTH SHUT?!!!!!! They just assist in fanning sparks to flames. angry
PhonesRe: Mtn Free Calls A Blessing Or A Trick? by WackyJ1(m): 1:48am On Aug 19, 2009
I do not know why you guys must cast MTN like this have they not tried giving you free calls. I know i must sound like a person who is an MTN spy or benefitting something from mtn but reason it like this. Why would you want mtn to be giving free night call without them gaining anything? All because for the past 20years they have been making money. Is mtn not a profit organization? Its like saying to a business man "Because you have been making money for a long time now you should give me this car, laptop, fridge e.t.c free of charge also give it free to all your customers" no one of you whether Igbo, Yoruba, Urhobo or Hausa would do that if you were in that situation. As for the loading of #100 voucher, yes is anything wrong? Its an incentive of sorts, its just another way to advertise their product, what about zain whose own is #50 and yet there is no #50 voucher so you end up buying #100 voucher anyway. If your call ends around 4.31am or 5.30 and mtn collects your money, is it their fault? They carefully stated that Midnight calls are from 12.30am to 4.30am so if they collect your money after the stated time, it is only as a result of the subscriber's inabillity to calculate time( no offence please). Its not like mtn is forcing any body to make midnite calls or stay awake at nite. As for the european operators who they say give free calls anytime of the day, is it not also true( i maybe wrong) that they charge for recieving calls. The truth is that Nigerians are all the same all that we want is freebies. if mtn should ask their subscribers if they would like free calls 24/7 without loading anything, we would all shout a big YES!!!! So that we would all enjoy without paying a dime. Yet we would still find a fault.

PhonesRe: Yahoomail On Om4.2 by WackyJ1(m): 1:17pm On Aug 17, 2009
Why use wap.yahoo.com when using opera mini 4.2 which can render desktop pages, to me its just waste. Yahoo classic is very boring cos its just plain with on colour and no news. In fact Opera mini 4.2 is the only mobile browser that can render the new yahoo page. If you don't believe it try bolt. Instead of switching back you can use your phone browser or bolt. The solution to the blank page problem is that you either clear your cookies or try leaving it which may mean not checking your mail for some time. Hey no harm no foul
PhonesRe: Yahoomail On Om4.2 by WackyJ1(m): 10:00pm On Aug 16, 2009
If your yahoo mail is showing a blank page there is nothing you can do about it just leave it and wait for a time when it will open cos it will not show empty page forever. You can try clearing your cookies. To prevent it from showing a blank page in the future do not sign out from yahoo even after you have finished checking your box because that is what causes it.
PhonesRe: Joli From Zain, Latest Fraud by WackyJ1(m): 1:54am On Aug 16, 2009
Once you buy a new sim the current plan you are in is the best even though you might not know it. When i saw the zain joli. I would not believe it. No network i know says 25k/sec without strings which was exactly what zain did in their advertising. They just flashing the 25k/sec or 40k/sec before the eyes of their customers and they knew that once you entered you would not like it so they barred all exits. Its like a horror movie. But don't worry guys where there's a will there a way

PhonesRe: Gsm Questions: Retrieving Numbers And Blocking Calls by WackyJ1(m): 7:43pm On Aug 14, 2009
Fdeveloper:
Ans 1: The phone company will have a record of the both incoming and outgoing calls however I would imagine that for privacy reasons they are highly unlikely to give you the data. Such data is normally only released following a request from the police and/or national security services.

Ans 2: The ability to block some or all incoming calls is handset dependent so you have to consult your user manual to ascertain if it's possible.
Pardon me. But in nigeria i don't think i've heard of it before( Ans 1).
If you want to be able to retrieve your contacts you can synchronise them with you service provider or any other website that supports it beforehand.
Also if you want to block numbers just try fixed dialing, all you need is your Pin 2.
PhonesRe: Streaming Settings. by WackyJ1(m): 7:33pm On Aug 14, 2009
Streaming settings is not what internet applications use to access the internet. Internet requiring applications use GPRS/internet settings to access the internet. Streaming settings and GPRS are two entirely different things. If you go to www.youtube.com and you click on "watch video" under a video you phone immediately starts streaming the video and you music player shows and the video plays like its stored on you phone. It is with the help of this streaming settings that you are able to stream such videos. Streaming a video means to watch it over an internet connection without necessarily downloading it. Most Nokia phones get settings for any network once the sim card has been put into the phone and sets it as default automatically. Just go to Menu>settings>configuration>default configuration and select the settings then choose "Activate default in all applications". Or go to music player>downloads>streaming settings and select the settings. As at the time i check google for MTN streaming settings there were no results(Imagine that).

TV/MoviesRe: Favorite Superhero? by WackyJ1(m): 12:35am On Aug 02, 2009
I can't really say my favourite but i just don't like SUPERMAN. Yes yes call me crazy but let me tell you the reason:
Superman is controlled by a woman. Yes how can a powerless man like lex luthor keep playing with super man like that( see superman returns). Just capture lois lane and Superman will sit, roll over and beg for mercy. LOL. Almost the same thing with spider man
I like wolverine but when it comes to not caring about shit, going solo and doing whatever you like i prefer Sabertooth( the one from x-men 4 not the one from x-men 1). If not for his adamantium wolverine would be finished. No body has talked about hulk, juggernaut. I prefer the heroes in Marvel comics to those from DC comics. We hav from marvel:
Hulk
Iron man
Dr strange
Spider man
Spider woman
Fantastic four
Quick silver
Anti-venom( Eddie brock)
Scarlet witch
X-men
and their teams like THE AVENGERS to mention just one. I hate the powerpuff girls.
TV/MoviesRe: Do Actors Really Cry In Movies? by WackyJ1(m): 12:02am On Aug 02, 2009
No matter how you look at it crying for a movie is not real. Just look it is acting and real are two opposite words. It like a paradox saying that crying in films is very REAL is very good acting. If its real then why do they need to act it? Its like saying "The actor that acts superman can really fly, its really good acting" whatever you act can never be real. Its like faking it. When you really cry you won't be in the mood for anything, Much less acting. Its your real emotions. If you bring up the wrong emotions you might mess up your words. Thats why they practice and practice until they are able to control and its just water down their eyes. So crying in films is not real its just acting.
PhonesRe: Zain Ng Introduces Data Trariff & Plans by WackyJ1(m): 1:27pm On Jul 27, 2009
Maybe you can compare this aspect of MTN'S plan with zain's. I've got just a few.

You can get 3gb for just #2500 from 10pm to 5am for a month

unlimited space for just #10000 for a month.

But the 1day plan is still the same. 50mb for #500.

Its incredible that in developed countries you can get full data access for a month for a minimum of $35 dollars and maximum of $68. Thats between #3000 to little over #6000 for speeds as high as 6000kbps.
This is because they use cables which can transmit large amount of data without high cost to the ISP. But in underdeveloped countries like Nigeria. There is need for satellites(which may lie 35000km from the earth) for direct connection and the cost of acquiring and setting up this equipment is very high, hence the very high cost.

If you want to download files using your phone browser with out opera mini, just click "open" when the download screen is shown. Choosing "save" (which may or may not be there depending on what you want to download) will make the opera mini 4.2 start downloading the file for you.
