The Enforcer: Hi VicjusticeJuatwise and other ecperts in the house,I am a Senior Fed Civil servant who intends to visit the Uk later this year.I ve got no acquitance in the Uk,so maybe a hotel reservation will do.Now,i did visit the ukba site but I m still oblivious about the process. Now,how do I apply? What about the hotel reservation, how do I go about that as well?Sorry for the long post
Go to uk website and download the general visa application form ,fill it and then print it out
Go to googled and search for hotels in your preferred city in uk,then book a room and print out the confirmation the hotel give to you
Then attach all other necessary documents you think might support your application positively, then you take all to vfs in Lagos or Abuja for submission.
Wish you all the best sir

Adeogooba: Hello great pple,

@Justwise and all the great pple..
Please i need your advice here.I just want to know what the best accommodation is for a uk tourist visa applicaiton for a family travelling together,a family of 5. out of the 5 only me the Father has a UK visa now. a friend of mine said, the embassy will not consider a family taking one bedroom apartment as hotel,he argues that it has to be 2 bedroom apartment for the visa to be granted. Now,i discovered that the prices of the 2 bedrooms aparmtment for summer are in the 3,000,4,000 etc pounds region for a week, for central zone 1 locations which host all the tourist attractions,.I will be in the UK for another business trip with my owned company partners and will like to have my family with me on a summer vacation.
I will like advise from all that have experience with applying for a group visa like this one. or those in uk already, advise on locations of interest in the central london and best places to trip my kids and wife and family shopping too.my main question is -is it compulsory to use a 2 bedroom vacation rental or will one bedroom vacation rental be ok for such application

thank you all

its a very simple question.. can 5 people sleep in a room comfortably?of cos NO..that means you need at LEAST 2 bedroom.

Can anyone pls elaborate on d quota work permit. Is it a month thing only? I'm going to SA for employment. Thanks.
If you are granted quota work permit..it's for minimum 3 years and maximum of 5 years...depend on your luck.
But most people get 5 years

Fashionista: PLEASE HELP!!!

Hello, Please this issue is really giving me concern, I applied for a USA visiting Visa and my interview is coming soon, My fiance Filled the form for me actually and he asked me to tell him where I have worked before which I did without knowing its my current working place they asked for... Now I need a letter to back that but I can't that.
2. I am still Doing my NYSC and I planned on getting an exemption letter for A month but I don't know if they give Visa to Corps members while they are serving.
3. What if I present a letter that shows I'm no longer working with those people, will that help?
4. What are the basic documents I need to take along before going for the interview because its my first time.
5. Or after I have gotten my appointment date can I still modify my data?

I'm so confused right now.

You can fill another DS-160 form and possibly make another appointment

Ok, thank you! they do not have a link to travel health insurance on their website though. Did you get a quote online or have to physically visit one of their offices?

Thank you for the information.

go to any GTBANK to get it done..

Hello Waleabimbola, is mansard insurance generally accepted for schengen tourist visa applications? I have tried checking their website and cannot find a link to 'travel health insurance'.. Finally, did they sort the insurance out in 1 day?

Thank you
Well I used it during my France visa application and I and my family were granted visa.i used it again in February this year for Germany application and it was also successful.
You will get your insurance sorted out within 30 minutes, all things been equal(Internet connection)...lol

Hello Vicjustice and others in the house...I applied for a TRV to canada for 8 day vacation but was refused today. The only reason ticked by the Visa officer is ..PURPOSE of my intended stay. I attached my intended itenerary and every other documentation. I think i have a good travel history as well as my last vacation in Nov. 2012 was spent in The Netherlands and France. What can i do now as i genuinely wanted to go on the vacation and am dissapointed that my visa application was refused.

Am sorry about your refusal bro, but pleased I want to know how longw it took them to finalize your application.
Thanks

@Waleabimbola nice one you make sense.
We are all here to share experience my bro,
I have some idea about uk, France, south africa and Germany visa.
AM NOT AN AGENT OOOOOO
Based on my experience with them anyway...
Travel / Re: German Embassy And Visa by Waleabimbola(m): 8:46pm On Mar 20, 2013
ukshirts: okay thank you, how was the interview like? so i can be able to plan ahead also what insurance company did you use and also how much did you did it for? also can i can print out the form online?

You can use this hotel cos I used without paying and I got the visa.....www.motel-one.com
My brother I wouldn't advice you pay for flight ticket yet please because of the below listed reasons..
1...if you don't get the visa(God forbid),you might not get your money back
2.,,the consular/vo might think you are desperate for the visa, that's why you bought the ticket cos its written on their site that you must bring flight itinerary NOT ticket
I stand to be corrected anyway
Travel / Re: German Embassy And Visa by Waleabimbola(m): 8:34pm On Mar 20, 2013
ukshirts: thanks very much godson201333

what you are saying now is that i should pay for the flight ticket when i have not gotten the visa yet? cos i intend going there with just the flight intinary showing my names and flight info for to and fro

also i want to book for the hotel online with my credit card details showing all my names as it is on the passport.. but they wont reduct the cash until i arrive there

will the Germany embassy accept this?

You dont have to pay for the ticket nor hotel yet my brother.they just want you to book it.you can use your credit/debit card to secure the hotel.i did same thing when I applied last month.

ukshirts: hello everyone, i booked for an interview at the Germany embassy online for next month, i am applying for a tourist visa, i have every documents, but i want to know if the embassy accept hotel reservation from the hotel that hasn't been paid for? also i am doing an itinerary for my flight but not booked yet? also i need to find out if i need to do Insurance or after the interview? please guide me through anyone with useful info

Well my brother, what Godson said is actually the truth but don't forget to know the name of the hotel off-hand and you must know the airline you want to use off-hand.then you must know the routes of the airline(as in knowing the stop over countries on your way).even if the agents book the hotel and flight ittenary, try and master it before the interview date.
It's not neccessary you pay for the hotel yet,you can use your debit card to secure it and don't book through all these hotel porters(booking.com,wakenow etc).make sure you book directly with hotels.
Wishing you best of luck.
Any nairalanders in BONN,GERMANY?i will be there for holiday between 31st march to 5th April.lets hook up please

Would invitation letter better than conference. Or hotel reservation in this case?

henrychubayo: Good day friends. I just want to know where my wife can apply for Accompany Spouse Permit to join me here in SA. Is there anyone here who have recently applied for the permit and got it approved? What documents did you submit? How long did it take? I need urgent response. My resident status is on WORK PERMIT 5 YEARS.
It's much easier if she comes into south Africa as a visitor and then she applied for accompany spouse...within 2 weeks it will be approved.
My wife did same thing anyway

I just heard dat frm a friend and I really dnt understand
Its not like I intend spending d entire two yrs there, but just want to know how I'm expected to use d 2yrs visa without future problems. Tnx

The maximum amount of time you can spend in uk is 6months per trip, you can spend lesser time though
