I was told of a story in the 16 to 17th century, during the era of Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. There was a black slave called Tobias. He works at Smith plantation, meaning that his Master's name is Mr Smith. Tobias was bought at the slave auction market in Orleans together with other slaves, male and female. He was so hardworking and seemed to understand the language of plants and animal. He was liked by Mr Smith and the family upto the extent that he was personally gifted a wife from the numerous female black slaves in Mr Smith plantation. Tobias was envied and disliked by some of the slaves especially the young ones that were born in the plantation. Tobias was a disciplinarian and the master entrust upon him to always discipline any offending slaves by denying them food and often beating them with horsewhip that usually makes terrible scar on their bodies.

Tobias was living the good life of a slave, working in the plantation and controlling Hundred of slaves, both male and female and in that, he was able to raise a family with his wife Rachel. They have 2 boys and 1 girl as children of their own but all still belong to the owner of the plantation Mr Smith.

There was a general anti-slavery uprising from some nearby plantations where some slaves escaped from the south to northern part of the America where there is a better freedom. This uprising affected Mr Smith plantation also and many slaves escaped except Tobias. Tobias family members even escaped....two weeks later, Mr Smith called Tobias to his lawn and asked him why he refused to escape despite that he could have easily done that and escaped from the years of slavery and limited movement. To the surprise of Mr Smith, Tobias answer made him so weak and awake a new awareness to some black slaves in general. Tobias answer was that he has no reason to escape since he's comfortable in the plantation, he has a wife and children even though some children had escaped also. He eats whenever he wanted and that's all about life to Tobias.

He was given freedom by Mr Smith after some years later but Tobias still insisted he's comfortable being a slave to Mr Smith and working in his plantation, so he refused the freedom and continued working as slaves with his family under Mr Smith plantation.

Now, can we relate this story to the story of Oba Gbadebo of Alake of Ake....he's so comfortable being a slave king to the people because of the goodies of remnants that the main slave owners, the fulanis are throwing at him. He has forgotten that slavery is a curse even though you are comfortable. You can't grow beyond your master as long as you are a slave. The extreme acts of depression is suicidal thoughts and going all the way to do it. It takes a brave person to commit suicide if I may tell you. Suicidal thoughts and acted people are very brave and highly energised but negatively energised and triggered. This act is a snapped in the brain that propel someone to do what you ordinarily wouldn't want to do. It comes with a strong force of authority and extreme strength with an unfathomable assurance of peace after the act. Victims hardly escape this extreme force of energy and abysmal peaceful assurance. It takes the grace of God and the undeniable genuine love of friends and love ones to over ride this thoughts and actions but sadly and often than not, most victims acted to the force before help comes their ways. Depression is real and ain't spontaneous but pilled up gradually, solidifying over time and events, strengthening your personal conviction that nobody can understand you, nobody loves you, you are just a mistake in this world, dying will give your love ones and friends relieve and a better lives.

We must always reach out to people around us, study each others mood swings and try to help out by asking questions and always showing love even though that might not be materialistic. We all need love and assurance, we need some hope of assurance and trust that we would survive this present terrible government we have. We need to lift each other up for everybody to see us and join hands to lift us also...we must be our brothers keeper and look out for one another......please, together we can make it and remain positively hopeful......No to depression, no to suicidal thoughts and no to untimely death of our you.g and vibrants heroes and heroines to suicidal acts......

A decision has been made to starve a section of the country. To be forewarned is to forearmed; it's a great hope that governors in each region of the South will call meetings to preserve the lives of people that elected them. Although for decades, the Federal government supports agricultural development of the North through countless irrigation system, free and subsidized fertilizer and making sure there is available market for the produce by banning importation of these produce. The billions of dollars being used is mainly from the Southern oil, ports and customs' duties.
Most of the states in the South are self sufficient, they can grow whatever they need except places like Lagos and PH. The major staples in the South is from cassava, yam, plantain, rice and all sorts of cowpie which people are readily growing. The SW people eat more of Amala and Ewedu, Eba, rice, etc with vegetables everywhere. The SS and SE likewise the same except in place of Amala and Ewedu, they have Akpu and Ogbono. There are lots of food crops, fruits, chickens, eggs, fishes that readily available to eat.
However, because of the population of the people in the cities and our lack of good leadership that should have envisaged the plan of the North before now, the south would have to endure for some time to fill up the gaps. This is a blessing in disguise and God used this to reveal the deadly plans of the North.
To avoid eating poison in future, Northern foodstuffs and perishable should be banned in the South. Bad chemicals like sniper is being used to preserve their beans and the cows are a kind of curse to our spirituality... people are being killed for the meat you eat; humans are mating with what you eat! The other things the North brings can easily be planted if not lazy. Get a small place to grow your pepper, onion and tomatoes. For the wise, this is opportunity to make money. There are lots of countries in W/Africa that are looking for where to sell their stuff like beans which are being infested with weevils, also cows.
Open grazing should be thoroughly prohibited in the South. The government should do everything to block foodstuffs coming from the North. The southern governments should support mechanised farming in crops and animal husbandry.
