GboyegaD: It depends on how much is quoted on your I-20.the amount on my i-20 is about 4.6 including tuition, living expenses and misc. so will 6.3 as a closing balance be enough? |
guys howdy pls is 6.3 as closing balance in a parent's savings account with a turn over of 11 from jan to june be enough? i av an alternate bank statement of my uncle as well but no bank letter from my uncle but both bank letter and statement are available from my mum's acct. |
Pls...make una no say my own too much ooo abeg...i've tried checking the first segment of this posts to page 50 but not yet seen a favorable answer to this question...for finanacial statement...is the embassy interested in turnover or account balance....so that i go know wetin the bank go put for letter as i'm on my way to the bank right now to print the statement and reference letter |

Please if you have the resource DO IT!!!
Abeg tell them oooo...i wrote TOEFL and even though o never had the money for extra lectures or resources and depended wholly on the sample questions i downloaded from the ETS website, I still scored 103 so why run away...the thing no hard....I'm sure if i had written GRE it would have been the same or better that i would have scored....pls write it...it's advisable and shows you as a genuine student and u've gat more cash to spend on your education as well... |
rowlandoo: Guy I went tru idi iroko , and the woman the ecobank western union location I saw no sabi sevis fee at all . What's up where do I say I wan send am to .Have you finally paid it....wen u get to the bank try and look for someone who understands english a bit to assist you or in any case when you get to the cashier to pay your western union fee, just tender the photocopies of your international passport and your i-20 form...the cashier will know what to do.... |

kpolli: Hmm, IMHO. . . . Does ur intending course of study have anything to do with construction?? well as ur not sponsoring, ur statement is not compulsory but its something u can still carry along with the little in it. . . Good u indicated that u don't earn cos they wud have asked for payslips. . . Well explain to them how u said it here, its ur father's company n u wanted to gain working experience while waiting for the outcome of ur admission process. Thanks so much...my heart don come down... ![]() |
kpolli: Goodluck bro, God's favour wud go with u. . . AmenThanks my guy...i hail! |
Please i need an urgent advice...on my ds-160 form under employment i filled my dad's construction company and i work there...but checked on the "does not apply box" for salary....i finished service last year October and immediately applied to the school that gave me admission...i no dey earn salary as i was hoping my admission will pull through which actually happened....with a good TOEFL score and GRE waiver letter from the school and registration of my dad's company with CAC...do i need to print out my own personal bank statements as i no get any thing for inside ooo and moreover i never dey earn salary...just assist my dad with his construction company....what do i tell the VO should incase i'm asked about my employment and salary or monthly income...pls reply gurus....thanks...Gboyega D, Imperoiuxx, Kpolli, chi town base and co pls..thanks |
just less than a week to go for my interview...prayer and fasting on due course! Let's all go with confidence and pls pls and pls don't forget an important document to take along with you and that is the "Favour of God"....wish all of us july pals the best...na testimony we go gather! |
nevawory: Please houseTake whatever document(s) that will ensure you get your visa including all transcripts both the one evaluated by WES and school...about your GRE score and the appled schools...i feel it's an advantage that u didn't consider the US alone in your search for quality education, that should show you're not desperate to get into their country...just tell the VO that the school in the US was the best choice for you amongst the three you applied to and include your area of interest...i'm also an engineering grad and will be having my interview in about a weeks time at the consulate...above all...pray a lot and have faith you'll get it....any other better or counter opinion will be appreciated...all the best... |
leadzeal: Please, is 200 dolls the total money u paid. So people are paying 240, while odas re paying 200 as u did.. Please did u pay anyti extra, and if u did, ow much extra did u pay. ThanksYeah the bank collected an extra $25 so i paid $225 in total minus t-fare ooo...that was around 36500 Naira that i paid...117,000 cephas according to their currency...I think the extra pay or commission depends on the bank you pay at... with 40k you should be ok including t-fare... |
rowlandoo: Was it at the border u paid , why 240$ and what do I have to do when I get to border coz it seems I will need to re pay the fee again as dem no wan make I trnasfer o . Minute considering going to idi iroko tomororw . What do I do when I get there .I also paid mine at cotonou during the week, wednesday to be precise, it was hectic but i paid at ecobank...i also passed thru idiroko route...u can pay at portnovo or even at igolo nearby idiroko there...but i wasted time going all the way to cotonou but my payment has been received and i've printed my online sevis receipt already...so wen u get to idiroko just pass thru d border it's pretty easy...and dnt forget to change some naira to cepha at igolo...i paid my western union fee in cepha as they didn't accept the $200 with me i had to change it back to their currency which cost me extra....so friend all the best. |
imperiouxx: Schools don't supply DHS information than your biodata such names, sevis number, DOB, country etc not your sponsors. I know those who changed their sponsors after seeing family written on their I-20 and got no problem with the embassy. Well, he can go with both but he should keep the mother's account as primary account where funding for studies is gonna come. Thanks bro i really appreciate...Now my heart is at rest....It'll all be testimony for me and all those that are also hoping for it. |
GboyegaD: I truly do not know much about your question but one thing that bothers me which I am yet to get a response to is that the information the school supplies to dhs, doesn't it include who one's sponsor would be? If it does, then if one meets a meticulous VO, one could be denied based on that. Therefore, I would suggest you use your uncle and mom as sponsors on your DS-160 cos that way you can explain that having different names for which you may not be given the room to explain. Thanks guy, I will take both of the accounts with me just in case cos on my DS-160 i put my mum as one paying for my trip...and i feel family should sound better than uncle...also i wanna know if i should fill the DS-156 and 157 forms...thanks...i should be in cotonou by wednesday to pay my sevis fee |
Supzyy: @ walex57 and others who are going for sevis payment at coutonou. You have to be very careful and smart as said earlier. never give your money to your bike man to hold for you as he takes you across the border. They are all sly crooks. never go along with any original document as this may be siezed and you will be asked to bail it out with your money. let the bike man the border know that you have a customer at the bank and any money collected from you by the touts on the way would be refunded by him. you wont encounter any serious problems coming back into nigeria. you can go with naira which can be changed to CFA in the market close to the bank. I was asked to pay 120,000 cfa when i paid mine on 29th may. i changed this for N38,040. u can change this for cheaper in lagos. just leave some allowance cos of rate changes. Overall, its a nice experience, but not for the faint at heart. Thanks Supzyy...i'll be extra careful and go with only photocopies...i've been to cotonou once before and i'll be very careful...Thanks so much. |
Please asides DS-160 form do i need to fill the DS-156 and DS-157 forms..pls reply |
deevick246: To those contemplating Cotonou option for sevis fee payment, I advice you should be smart and rugged. Because that cotonou way mehnnn... E nor easy, its like a war... If you aren't smart those people (customs & the other thieves) will end up scaring you and collect all the money on you including your sevis fee money self. Thanks for the advice bro...i should go to idiroko in ogun state cos my sis works in a bank there then i'll from there go to cotonou cos my sister's hubby knows all the custom guys there...i just know favour will follow me |
imperiouxx: lolz@shaanu...lollzzzz...no nah when you finish...carry ya bags come back to Naija no worry Dangote go employ you.... ![]() |
leadzeal: Yes ofcourse get it printed out. Get your password and username handy too.. And if d VO is nt buying it, tell her to log on to ets.org(slash)toefl. And give her dat two information. Thanks Guy... |
imperiouxx: Even in the US, credit card can't be used to pay SEVIS for Nigerians, the person can only use western union or bank transfer for him.Ok thanks that means i'm going to cotonou asap...imperiouxx thanks a lot |
Allohrandy: All those that apply for emergency visa last week should check their mail. My initial date was august 23 but i was reshedule to july 2 in lagos. The most funny thing is that i have not yet paid my sevis fee. Can anyone pls direct me to any reliable agent where i can pay the sevis in lagos or ph.I was also rescheduled to july 2nd but didn't use emergency stuff...i never pay my sevis fee too but i heard it can be paid in cotonou with western union or if you know someone in the usa...scan your I-20 to the person and let the person go to fmjfee.com and pay it via credit card for you...cheers@profginger also |
imperiouxx, leadzeal Phy, Kpolii, gboyegaD....abeg make una tell me ooooo....wetin i go do...do i use the online printout for my TOEFL... |
Guys I need an advice...the automatic rescheduling stuff worked and i was initially rescheduled to august 27 but now i've been rescheduled to july 2nd at the Lagos consulate...i don't yet have my TOEFL paper score card....pls what other very important documents do i need to take along...I never even pay SEVIS fee sef...but i shld do that this week... contact me via walex57@yahoo.com...I really appreciate |
imperiouxx: @liteville,Thanks my guy. I'm going for masters and i've sent an email to the school already concerning a letter of GRE waiver...i first booked for and appointment and got august 27 which is actually the date on my I-20 but canceled it thinking i could get and earlier date but instead got september 6 cos august 27 was not feasible for me since it'll take another 2 days to process my visa...i hope my initial cancellation won't affect my chances of getting a much earlier date. i just wannna wait till 27th of june to file for an emergency appointment. please how do you see it...cos someone said i should pay 45k and he'll get me an earlier date... do i go for this option or just bone it and wait for an emergency application time?...thanks |
samiel4u: @walex57Na still september 6 dey there ooo...i'm waiting till when my I-20 will be 60 days to expiration to book for emergency appointment... you can book for emergency appointment nah...make sure u attach your I-20...that means you'll have to scan your signed I-20 form and attach it to your emergency appointment message...you can only attach one file so just attach your I-20 instead. Take care bro...all of us will get very good early dates by God's grace. |
shaanu: Hmmm.....roger that! I guess I will have to bring something meaningful up then. I wonder why those consular guys are like that. Despite the fact that I have no immigration intentions, I still feel scared of the interview!! It is well o.Not yet, still searching for a good date and gathering ma necessary docs before hand....don't be scared...you just go with prayer, faith and boldness...that's what I intend using sha...and i believe you'll definitely get it. |
