GboyegaD: Walahi, those boys are unrepentant. Imagine, I moved the last bowl of stew into the freezer and brought the vegetable to the fridge. I woke up and found a vegetable stained fork in the zinc and so I checked my vegetables and saw that they had scapped it again. I had to accost them but they both denied. Anyways, it was only summer lease I signed so I dey move out by the end of summer. The thing vex me because me I dey struggle pay and person wey dey come school on financial aid dey steal my food.

GboyegaD: Sorry I have been a little scarce. Na one of my roommates vex me and for some time, I prefer coming home late at night because I do not want to fight with anyone and that has one way reduced my nairaland browsing. i would want to suggest that if you would be living in an apartment where you have roommate, do not familarise yourself too much with them because in my case, my roommate each time he sees me cooking usually says he likes adrican stew (he is a black american). We got talking more and I realised he was a very good friends with one of my first cousins and that made us talk more. Most times when I fry my chicken he would ask to buy a piece and out of courtesy I would ask him to take one. Since I prefer cooking my stew for like 3weeks at a point, one day, I slept very late because i was busy cooking and to my dismay, 3days after, I brought out one of the stew and I saw only one meat and I felt maybe I wasn't sure. Bringing out the next bowl, I realised all the meats were nowhere to be found. i got so upset that I had to start hanging out till late because I do not want to fight with him since the lease I signed with the apt was for only lease. The most annoying is that the only day I used one of his disposable plates, he took the others out of the kitchen. He keeps eating my fruits which I feel is no biggie before now but you can never get anything from him. I have learnt what familiarity could cause and I am only trying to advice my people here.
Eeya...Continuation of hostel life for naija university...lol....go build shelf and buy padlock make u dey lock am like the good old days (Uni days).....lol...anyway the guy did wayyy too bad..habaaa with all the survival tactics wey we dey do for yankee somebody go dey put sand for our garri...

Adolite: @house,Here is my long story… Since i was denied last time 2011 all because of my over confident ,i decided not to memorise anything again since is a interview not an exam…this morning rain was a blessing to me…my interview was 8am in abuja, so i got there early but we are not allow to even stand near the main road to link to entrance of the embassy for security reasons.
8.05 we were call to enter, i quickly rush in front because i believe is more better because of the past experience,i did the bio and all then i sat down waiting and also listening to others people interview and also comparing nice, harsh and good consulars… cubicle 7,do give visa but it always took him a lot of time with questions ,8 is a old man so harsh but if you know what you doing he will give you, he is nice if i may say because i was praying in my mind that he should call me, cubicle 9, she is my angel, very nice woman and she always listen to you and even ask you questions with options for you..she denied like 2 people before me….she quickly deny a lady and next…

Co- Good morning
Me-Morning to you, how is work going?
Co-(smiles) fine…
Co-Pass me ur doc and passport
me-i pass it to her…(I have 2 E-passports , one i have valid uk visa on it with a lot stamps which will expire by oct…) i think she notice that
Co-Where have you been traveling to?
Me-UK, Kenya ETC
Co-What did you went to do in UK and the rest
Me-To visit my uncle"s wife and take good care of her because she just had a baby and my uncle is busy with a contract in Nigeria..and the rest was for wedding
Co-why are you going to USA
Me-to study
co-how did you get to know about the school--
me-Collegeboard and also US New and world ranking(Imagine , she said she never heard about college board and us news and world ranking because she still ask me the same question and i told her the same thing, i even explain more about the college board and US news to her) i think the woman she is just playing with my IQ or thinking i might change it.
then she was busy typing something,i quickly play smart on her, i told her that the old passport is the one i use to fill the DS160 and appointment, then i ask her if there would not be any problem, she said YES…that period i quickly start thinking i have not even refer anything to my country nigeria oooo…so i was waiting for her to ask me any question and i will definitely refer it to naija, to God bi the glory she ask me …

Co-why did you choose this school?
Me-because of my program , computer science…Computer science is at the heart of DSU mission to integrate technology and all the award giving to the institution according to the US news and world ranking was from the computer science department, and most especially they give 1 on 1 attention to all students, so can you see why i choose the school, this will school will make me an expert with i come back to nigeria , because we are still lacking behind in term of technology..i gave example that MTN nigeria data base got error few months ago and they hired experts from abroad which is not support to be and also i learnt that they were giving about $120,000 each….wow..thats a lot of money , i wish i am the one… she smiles….all na lies but i said it boldly as if na my uncle employ them..lol..so glad, she was listening to me, that make me talk more and gain more confident as if i dey orientate her..
Co-Why do you want to study com science-
Me-i smile out to attract her attention..lol…i let her listening again…If you love the bloom of a plasma screen when it powers on and the hum of a CPU fan, you should major in Computer Science…hope you understand what i mean…? studying Com S..it will make you know some programming languages and also operating systems…then i con dey stammer ….studying com sic, i will be able to be an expert in my country and be a data base editing and building..bla bla bla… can't remember the rest….lol
C0-she started to look into my ds160, are you working now?

me- No, but i am on Student IT with a firm
Co-do you finish secondary school or take any test?

Me-Yes
Co-oooh, you finished 2008, what have you been doing?
Me-I completed my ND in so so so so poly last year and am on IT now…
Co- are you with ur transcript?
I said NO, my school does not give out trans to student they rather send it directly to institutions
Co-Can i see your test reports..SAT,toefl
Me-i pass it to her..
Co-ooh you have low score in ur toefl, i quickly tell her that i am above my school requirement thats why they stated it on the 1-20..
Co-Can i have ur ND certificate?
i gave her but i never give her my O-Level result…
Co- she started typing and then took my SAT,Toefl result and my ND certi inside to meet a man, they started talking for about 1 min..before she came back again..
Co-Wat did you went to do in uk again?
me- visiting my uncles wife becos she just had a baby but presently my uncle is in nigeria..
Co-wat does ur uncle doing for living, I said, he is a lecturer in so so so UNi in London..what is he lecturing, i said english..I lied ooooo…..because it came unexacting but i learnt is always good to talk than staying silent..she ask why is he teaching english in UK again? then i told her that i can now understand what she means…i said, do you know that there is diff btw speaking and writing??,,i ask her that question if she knew, she said yes you are right,so i start to explain more and more when i realise she is typing again..

Co- who is sponsoring you
Me-Parent, DAD…thats how i said..
`Co-can i see evident …
me-i gave her statement, she start to day find the last page, i show her…she look it and start to type…before she gave me back the statement , i quickly show her my sponsoring letter..she patiently read it and pass them back to me…
C0-wat course will you do to get qualify for this degree in the school..
Me- software eng, data base editing, computer programming data analysist
Co-What do you plan to be doing when you come back to nigeria…
Me-as an expert in computer science programming , i would love to work within telecommunication in nigeria because there is a lot opportunity and i will really earn a lot
C0-how much do you think you can be earning, or how much does computer programmers earn in nigeria, do you have any idea?
Me-It depends on the contract…then i start to stam…..do you mean a month or a year..so i quickly said like 4 to 5 millions naira a year…with that kind of money i am a rich man.., smiles..
Co-do you know how much ur total tuition fees in four years, i said is about 56 or 60, i was wrong but i said something……
Co- i am asking you all this becos am thinking on way you will gain when your dad spend this much on you over there and nothing to show for it when you get back here..
me-I smiles, a lot and moreover, am the only son, so most his money is my own and he is working hard because of me..that is how it came to my mind…

then she started giving me back my appointment letter and other documents and also my second passport, that is when i know say she go give me the visa because she hold the new passport and my ds160…

CO-hope you will come back…she gave me my ticket to collect my visa on so so so….

i just laugh out and said thank you..

thats it bro….remember, i have been denied 3 times before...All Glory to God almighty
Congrats bro...although you sef show small overconfidence again oo...lol...but with God on your side VO no take offense like any other would...Have a nice time to usa...all the best.... grin

@adolite,

Congrat my old buddy. Did your UK tour prior to F1 interview paid off? Check on google for international airports closer to SD. You will get what you need. Then you can go to any air traveling site to check the air fee from LOS or ABU to the airport. To me, I used the flight site directly and have the itinerary done myself.

jimtosam: Thank you all.Imperiouxx, GboyegaD, Phy, Successgreat, walex special thanks to you guys. God did it yesterday at Abuja by 10:45am.
Please, we cannot rule out favour.

Counter 8,One old white guy. at Abuja yesterday was tough. But, what I discovered about him is that he wanted people to prove their cases strongly. It's like Counter 7 guy was undergoing training. Cos, somebody was giving him clues of questions to ask. Cos they are two there. Counter 9 girl is very lovely even though she was not dashing out VISA like gift too.She interviewed about 3 families before me and their cases were strong. They were all granted.

Counter 7 guy was very busy, I was just speaking in tougues that God should let this counter 7 guy be ready when it's my turn but Later I said God let your will be done. Take me to where I am going to get the VISA. As God will have it, Counter 7 guy just got ready. Next Applicant. Immediately I heard next applicant, God just brought a confidence into me that I couldn't explain.

I will post my experience soonest. My internet is down and phone battery is almost flat now.
Congrats Bro....
